  2. I was going through random receipts and came across this EAC1315451250 and the description shows “On April 24, 2013, we received this I129 PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case”.

    I am confused that the description says april 24, but the receipt number says 154th working day which is may 6th.
    Please somebody shed some knowledge here.

    Is USCIS sending receipts to alphabetical order? anyone got any idea? or it is random?
    My company name starts with “A” and “D” there two sub compnees though… they have stopped receiving receipts in the last week itself… Do we still have hopes till end? or it os DONE.

    Need your help, from past 2 -3 days we are not seeing good news in this wonderful forum, like received receipt no and receipt no is in this stage now.. such type of comments. 😉

    So that it means USCIS may have completed sending receipts for all H-1B selected petitions in lottery.

    I applied under RQ/RP/VSC ..not received any update.. Even my employer also didn’t get any update till Monday. My employer definitely shares with me as soon as he receives any update from USCIS.

    Can we still keep our hopes alive?

    Could you please guide us on the chances to hear positive news from USCIS at this Stage?

  6. Guys don’t loose hopes..
    They are still processing H1 applications.
    I was checking randomly and got one entry on uscis website: WAC-13-151-50346.

    I don’t know who is this lucky person but entry was made on 1st may or 151 th day of this year.

    • I checked with 153 also and i see that it shows as “Initial Review”.

      On April 23, 2013, we received this I539 APPLICATION TO EXTEND OR CHANGE NONIMMIGRANT STATUS

  7. I have applied through Bangalore based employer and California based attorney. I don’t know the negotiation between employer and attorney but the Attorney saying they will issue the list of selected application only after getting status for all applications (around 60 applications).

    So don’t know my application status.. its stucked in USCIS or Attorney. Why Attorneys behave like this and why Companies accept this kind of responses even after paying few 100$ (may be 1000+ $) for every application.

    • waiting is horrible,
      The attorney may be sharing everything w/ the employer, but not you. They are answerable to the employer and not you, so they may behave this way. If they behave this way w/ the employer, they may get fired.

      • I know around 20 members out of 60 applications and nobody received any status. If Attorney shared the information to employer, What employer will gain by not disclosing this information.

        • waiting is horrible,
          Lot of employers have concern that employees will change jobs as soon as the petition gets approved. So they hold on to the receipt numbers for as long as possible. Also, if employer slips the answer to one, then he will have to address numbers calls/emails from remaining 59 members. Like you said, you already know 20 of the other applicants. So he may want to disclose information once he is ready to disclose it to all.

          • My employer is doing the same, they said i am selected in the lottery but are not releasing any information. I am worried.

  9. I’ve been following this blog from the begining …
    I’m losing hope, i have applied in RP/RQ….
    I couldn’t even sleep…. It seems to be almost everybody received their status on aication…but still I haven’t received mine
    Is any hope still left for me?????

      I already stopped looking for my number.. see when you dont have control on something… stop worrying about such things… enjoy.. if your num is there.. it will reach you…. enjoy…. life

    • Do you think this was the last chance of your life? How old are you to not sleep at nights? What will you lose if it doesn’t happen this year (I honestly hope it will happen for you). This is not the end of the world my friend. Think about those who are already in USA after their education (for which they spent a lot of money and time) if any of them don’t get it their situation much more worrisome than your’s right now. All the best for future. I hope you will sleep well.

    My delivery manager today told me my application got through in lottery, so visa team has sent the list to all managers on who were selected in the lottery check with them.. All the best

  17. I dont know if I can do this, while waiting till next year. I enroll back to school, delete me in the payroll, work part time to keep the job but dont get paid. At the yearend ask for the bonus

    • Jenny. I think you should check with your school if they will allow you to work on CPT atleast after 1st semester. Other option is to see if your company has a branch in canada and are willing to accomodate you.

  22. I am through the lottery as per my employer and they have received I797C form for my application,
    But they are not sharing the receipt number with me?

    Can anybody comment on this please?

    • Who is your employer? Desi consultant or Indian Firm like TCS, Infosys, LNT, etc? I have applied through Desi Consultant – MAARKOVERSEAS. Am still waiting for a confirmation. They wont give any update as of now. Anyone else applied through MAARKOVERSEAS, kindly share your status please.

        • Definitely! I think they filed H1B through some consultancy companies, who in turn bodyshop us to their contracted companies. Thats the reason for charging double $8000 instead of the usual $4000 in name of premium processing, which has really no value for first time H1B fiers from quota; but good thing once its approved. But they are very secretive about their process and wont divulge anything – not even courier details. Sometimes I feel as if are they really genuine? Anywayz if no response by June, am opting for refund of Rs 8,200 and filing with a different consultant next year. If you filed through MAARKOVERSEAS, then please contact me at voidofdeath at gmail dot com; Need to group together and put pressure on these desi consultants.

      Congratulations!!! When did you receive the email and when did TCS receive the receipt? Any idea whether your receipt came in first batch(till 30th April) or second batch?

          I am from Wipro. Please raise a service connect ticket about yout lottery result. Today me and my frineds raised a ticket and got an update like ‘My application was accepted by USCIS under lottery systems and it’s in Initial Review ……” .

  30. Today I checked with my employer; They said my check is cleared yesterday and receipt will be sent in next 7-10 days. Mine is RQ/RP. So Still lottery Processing is going on.Don’t loose hopes. Chances can be alive until end of May. I thank you very much for those helped me thru their comments to keep my confidence . VERY BEST OF LUCK for everybody

    Keep hope there are still chances. I have got intimation from my employer that they have received my receipt on last friday i.e on 3-MAY. I have been waiting for this news for long. Finally I could hear this news 🙂

    Everyone please keep hope as atleast 8 out of 10 will hear good news.

  33. Even if it was communicated that 90% of 85k applications have been done with , that still leaves us with 8500 slots pending for regular quota.Hence still some hopes.

    Also , it seems that pace of sending out receipt has reduced considering that on day 139 to day 155 , applications received have varied from 50k to 55k.

      Eventhough, there are few slots left, there is a chance that the application has been selected already in lottery and noticed in couple of weeks before and on transit to you or the company(lawyer) may take some time to inform the petitioner. Because I just got receipt today, which was selected on Apr’08 and notified by USCIS on Apr’24, but I got the information only after 12 days. so keep the hope alive. All the best.

  34. Hey guys, last week, more precisely Monday, I called USCIS to find out about my application, which is not on the system yet, and most likely won’t be, and the lady told me that 90% of all the 85k H1B was already processed. That means it is time to act for Plan B.
    I already conformed with the situation. Plan B it is on the way!!!

      Yes I got the receipt date today from my employer. So Keep hopes guys, it’s not all over.
      Applications would be processed till this month May. I got receipt from Vermont Service center.

        If the receipt date is from April, then it doesn’t qualify as May processing. We are yet to see a receipt which was issued in May (or has there already been a receipt like that).

          I meant that the applications which are selected in April month, USCIS would be sending the receipts no.s till the month of May if people are selected in lottery.

  39. I’m under AD/RP

    This whole lottery thing is such a pain for the people who are waiting for a +ve response. I have spent about 2 years studying, struggling and finding a job, and now my future is decided through this lottery. I’m sick of this process and just lost hope.

  41. As per telephonic conversation with USCIS help center, it is advised to wait around 15 more days ,as the process of sending out receipt is not yet complete.The same was ratified by my employer.

    I hope there is some veracity to their statements 🙂

  48. Is he mail received by both attorney and employer or it can be received by either of the two?
    If both of them get it, is it in some particular order.

    My HR is on leave for entire month of May and the attorney is not much responsive. Hence the question.

    • I meant to ask if the receipt number/returned package is received by both employee and attorney or one of the two and in which order.

      • I believe USCIS only reply back to the Atorny as he is one who sends your H1b file to USCIS. Also make sure from other resources as well.

        I have applied through a consultant who had his corporate office address and another office at his home. He received the receipt number to both of his address.

        So as per my understanding your employer and also your attorney will receive the communication from USCIS…

  49. I did not receive any info till now about the receipt. But I received an email saying that my petition has been filed. Anything can happen. I am mentally prepared for whatever it may be. My mind is saying the above. But my heart is waiting for the +ive result.
    If I am not selected, then this would be third time failure. First time, I was having visa. But the project has to wait for one month to get me in, because I will be getting released(confirmed release) in 3 weeks. I told my friend this info bcos, he was moving out of company. But he contacted my new project and took my opportunity, bcos he was available immediately. I forgot that there are bad/cheating friends as well available in the world. After he moved to onsite, he called me. I told him “All the best” and disconnected the call.
    Second time, the project which took me for US position went on to hold.
    After 3 years, this is my 3 opportunity. One more point is that all the 3 times, I did not looked for US opportunity. The manager called me and asked me to apply.

      Don’t worry. Wait for next 10 days or so. Hopefully you get +ve response.
      There are many people like us have been waiting for the receipts. These are the toughest times to face.

          Now the new problem is my project is getting closed this month and I have to find out a new project in the same company. -:) Faith. What to do.
