What is H1B visa 2019 Quota for Regular and Masters filings ?
As of the date of writing of article, the H1B quota is as below. This is also called the H1B Visa Cap. You can read more at What is H1B Cap ? Regular vs Masters quota ?

  • H1B Regular Quota : 65,000 visas
  • H1B Master’s Quota : 20,000 visas. ( only US Masters eligible)

Also, of the overall 85,000 visa cap, every year 6,800 visas are set aside for the citizens of Singapore and Chile as part of the Free Trade Agreement with them. There were few bills part of Comprehensive Immigration Reform that are not active in Senate that were proposed from Obama administration days to change the cap count to 110,000 and Masters to 25,000, including potential to make H1B cap extend up to 180,000. But nothing has moved and all are dormant. Nothing new has been proposed by the new Trump Administration regarding changing cap count. Will there be Lottery for H1B 2019 season ? Lottery Predictions ? Filing Numbers ?
Update : USCIS had lottery for FY 2019 quota and received 190,098 petitions.
Looking at the historical trend of H1B filings, cap reach dates, it is quite possible that we would have lottery for FY 2019 quota.  We have written a detail article looking at historical data, Trump administration new policies like ‘Buy American, Hire American’, students on OPT, H4 EAD removal rule, etc. factors. To know the prediction numbers and details, read the article:  H1B Visa 2019 Lottery Predictions – Analysis, Graphs .

When is H1B Visa 2019 Lottery Date ?
Update : USCIS Conducted Lottery for FY 2019 on April 11, 2018.
There are two things, one is when the H1B petitions are accepted for the lottery and second is when the actual lottery is done. H1B visa petitions for next fiscal year would be accepted by USCIS from April 2nd, 2018 for 5 working days until April 6th, 2018 to be part of the lottery. Now, the actual lottery date depends on various factors depending the volume of petitions and USCIS load. It can be anywhere in second week of April. For FY 2018, the actual H1B Lottery was done on April 11th, 2017 . We can expect anywhere around the same date like April 11th or April 13th.

How to find H1B visa 2019 Sponsors ?
It can be very hard to find a good employer and convince them to sponsor H1B to work in US with major unknown like H1B Visa lottery. Anyways, you would be in one of the three scenarios, if you are seeking a H1B Sponsor.

  • F1 Student in US : You can find an internship or co-op at an employer who can sponsor H1B visa and ask them to sponsor your H1B. You can continue to work on OPT once you graduate as well. You find the list of H1B Sponsoring companies using the tool
  • International Professionals  : If you are outside of US, it can be tricky with all the latest rules by Trump administration. Your best bet is to find an multi-national company ( MNC) and work through them to sponsor H1B visa. You may have hurdles inside the company with all the internal process, many waiting, etc. But, it is up to you to negotiate and ask them to take a chance. Many try the IT body shop route, where they ask them to file H1B. Rules have changed in the last few years and it is very risky move and can jeopardize your US hopes. Read comments on this H1B Companies Reviews article  to get an idea and  beware of such consulting companies to avoid fraud.
  • Important Note : We, as RedBu2US, DO NOT Provide any H1B sponsorship or guide anyone using professional services or fee. If anyone approaches you by saying our name, it is pure FRAUD…beware !

  1. Hi All,

    I had an approved h1b petition (not stamped) valid till mid 2019, the employer filed amendment in Premium Mode which ran into RFE. We are in process of responding to RFE.

    Can anyone please guide if I can go for stamping with the Amendment receipt and previously approved petition?

    Is there any challenge / risk?

    Thank you…

      • @duh
        Even I feel lottery would be tomorrow
        Coz if we analysis last year cycle ,till Apr 7th(Friday) they have accepted the applications and Tuesday (11th)they have conducted lottery

        This years also till Friday they have accepted the applications and I believe on Monday they might be busy with making arrangements kind of things before conducting lottery and will perform that on Tuesday

        So I am hoping it will be tomorrow

    • Here you go , Man.

        • There is no real need for name calling. Weren’t you be supposed to be one of the “civilized “ and “highly skilled” labor. Even if you are a troll, you were supposed to be have better. Well, I guess all the “skilled labor “ are created equal but some are worse than the others.

        • So you blindly believe what someone says? Dont you have independent thinking? Was a bond signed between Bestrong and you that you got to believe what he says?
          He and others did it for their own self satisfaction and shared it would be helpful. If you dont like it move on B.

  2. Ok Guys,
    I need to break the bad news here,
    We needed to update an important info. We got blindsided and were not able to locate the data which we needed to add. We all were discovering methods to get some estimations as we were going along.
    Turns out that there are certain number of non-exempted h1b petition still needed to be taken account of . Around 90,000 of it for the duration of April 15- Oct 1 this year . The data for last years were including that and the data for this year is still need to update as employers will file for more transfers and renewals.
    We used data provided by USCIS for last year. Crunched some numbers and came up with estimated 90K to be added for total number of employees attached.
    Thank to Rezee, LCA, Franc for all the help and Indu for pointing out this major issue.

    Year —-># employees (one to one LCAs)—–> # employees ( non 1-1)—-> Total LCAs—->Applicants
    2014—-> 180000 ————————-> 234,592 ——————–> 414,542——–> 124 K
    2015—-> 217,638————————-> 314,989 ——————–> 532,627——–> 172K
    2016—-> 284,500————————-> 368,604——————–> 653,104——–> 233K
    2017—-> 299,341————————-> 360,604——————–> 659,945——–> 236K
    2018—-> 291,092————————->261,092——————–> 552,184——–> 199K
    2019—-> 260,000————————->253,680——————–> 513,680——–> TBD

    I still believe that we can see around 150s K with all the commotion happening around this year. This year is not the same. But i will have to bite the bullet and we will be giving a range from (160 – 180K).
    Again this estimation is data driven and we are not considering any external factors.

    We may find transfers getting reduced and renewals getting increased more than ever , all the restriction taking place making LCA conversions going down but do expect 160K – 180K.

    • Meth:

      2019—-> 260,000————————->253,680——————–> 513,680——–> 177854 (Model 1) —> 177450 (Model 2)

    • In my opinion, 90k is rather big-O of additional filings between April 1st and Sep 30, after the H1B cap is closed. I would argue that the number should be less. Since all the applications that would be done during this period have to be the cap-exempt filing. That would consist of three categories of people

      A. An individual working for a non-profit research university/organization.
      B. People applying for renewal of their H1B.
      C. Employees transferring H1B to a different company.

      Category A has always been pretty small (should be the order of hundreds), and most of the people in category A get EB1 card. For people in category B, that would mean that they got their Visa in 2015 (out of 85k Visa issued), not everyone would renew it. Some might have got their green cards (EB1, people from countries other than India/China), many of the IT companies (the major share in the year 2015) are not vying for renewal, and a number of people who got the visas never traveled to the US either. The recent changes would also curtail the EVM model applicants and deter them from applying for renewal it is not based on the precedent anymore. Category C should see a lower number than the usual years, in spite of the economy doing better than usual. With all the brouhaha around immigration policies, both employer and employees are a little anxious to hire and switch.

      Though from the above, I can not put an objective cap on the number of cap-exempt applications yet 90k seems to be a little high.

      • reply:LCA,

        I am putting out the link of USCIS data where they have provided number of receipts for each of the year updated on 30th of June, 2017 and 15th of Nov 2015. Found out there were total number of cap exempt petitions from July 1st to 15th of Nov to be around 68K .

        Now we took 68 K , found out average number of petitions per day which came around 500. Took that number and multiplied it by number of days for the duration of June to Sept 30. (approx 120 days) as we took these months of data for each year . It came out approx 60 K . We added some some more petitions to it as you will see an average increment of 10% in receipts for each year according to the data. Value came out to be around 66 K. This chunk is supposed to be mostly transfers than anything else.

        Now, we don’ t know how many cap exempt petitions the employers will file (from mid of April to end of May 2018 giving the dates between June to Sept 30 on LCA for mostly renewals) so we took an approximation of 24- 25 K . Total will come out to be around 90 K including everything.

        These are just approximation based on the limited data we have till now. I understand your point of including all the 3 categories though.

        Personally speaking, i am seeing a lot of transfers not happening in coming days and the all filtering which is happening should pull this 90 K below. But right now, we are just taking previous years as reference point and calculating accordingly. Hopefully we are doing some good overestimation here and hope to see numbers going lower.

        I also see people from 2009 applying for renewals as the GC backlog has deepened.

        Do let us know if you have any other ideas or some useful data we can use.

        • Yes, that sounds about right 500 apps/day for 180 days ~= 90k Apps

          Also, the renewals from 2009 are not “cap-exempt”, they have to apply before April 1st after the one-year “cool-off” period. So, that part is already in the equation. Also, if they could not get the green card application processed in the first six years, I wonder if they would find willing sponsors for H1B this year, though it is inconsequential.

    • This is what happens when people dont apply common sense with data. Like all previous year’s LCA calculations, this year too people underestimated the numbers . Now we have predictions from 130k to 180k. pretty convenient 😀

      • Yeah.. cause every high skilled person is a number cruncher.. come out of your cocoon and look how big the world is..

        also while you do that, keep your name calling to yourself and maintain the decorum.

  3. @Bestrong,LCA,3rdTimer,Reezee
    Guys please confirm really lottery has been done???
    Tension time

    @All- NOImposter posts please!!

    • Like I said before, we are just ordinary people with no access to any insider information whatsoever. All we did was we compiled and analyzed some information publicly available on the Internet.

      So regarding the lottery: we know exactly as much as you do.

    • Lottery was done today. Cheques are being cashed. Good luck to you.

      You can check with employer, attorney or sevis status. A few Master’s students were able to confirm from dso.

    • What you going to do even if lottery is done? Ball is in uscis court you have no control over it wait for them to respond. Dont panic and get others here into panic syndrome. Please close all your doors and sit with calm mind.

  4. Earlier I reported that I was told by my desi employer that my check got cashed over weekend. But I came to know from my other consultancy that my 2nd check also got cashed. Now I am nervous if both got cashed because of duplicate filings? or Both applications got picked in lottery? or consultancy owner pocketed the money? I am really nervous and confused.

    • Congratulations.

      You will get both approved. Don’t worry. Choose the employer you want to work. May be you can negotiate depending on who is better ?

        • That’s even better. Now you can work 16 hours for two employers with two H1b.

          Why you didn’t file third or fourth H1b ? then you can work 4 jobs.

          • I don’t have 2 jobs unfortunately. Just filed 2 H1B petitions so I will get lucky with atleast one or both. If both get approved, can I work on 2 H1B’s? I just started preparing for interviews. Wish me luck!!!

          • Do the math. How can I work 4 jobs if there are 24 hours in a day? At maximum 3 jobs but I need to eat/sleep/xxx activity.

          • You can work even on 85k h1b Visas.

            Next year try to apply for all 85k quota. I wish you luck to get all 85k applications selected and 85k high skilled jobs for you.

    • sorry.. but you will be given rfe..high chances.. btw if you are just faking things.. dont do it.. we are all very panicky .. no need to upset us further

      • Dude. I am as nervous as anyone else here 🙁 I am not sure if consultancy owner is messing with me. How do I know if they even applied?

    • I’m sorry for the mess up .

      What happened was: a coworker noticed there was a duplicate check. He thought someone sent in that check by mistake and we could pocket that money, so he called me and told me that over the phone. Unfortunately, due to miscommunication we both cashed one check, thinking the other one will be left untouched.

      At this point, you have no check and both cases will be returned for lack of fee. Even if we put the checks back now, they are cashed so that won’t help.

      Better luck next year!

  6. Any body know if you can check SEVIS status change via the new sevis login ICE has provided for f1 opt students?

    • I am using that user name to as a subject, context to my comment. I am here to stop the BS on Gayathri.
      Think before you talk on a public blog..

      Example: Some silly lady politician just for the heck of feminism started an argument on why a”man-hole” is named a “man”-hole.. LOL

      Your’s and Gayathris arguments are baseless. Woman or man fraud is fraud.

      • Thanks for doing that

        U are not getting me,,,I said this “‘Anyways,PLEASE stop trolling on name-gayatri”to whomever it is applicable and why are u talking it seriously

  7. BTW just by being born a girl doesnt give gayatri the right to apply for 3 H1B applications. That is FRAUD. As a girl idontot agree to any of her logic and neither do I agree to supriyas. Dont try to use the woman card to get the easy way out.

  8. @To whomever it concern
    Please stop nonsense on this useful blog on name-Gayathri

    Whether it is gayathri/gayatri/Gaya/Gayu etc… stop your comments that make others laugh at feminism

    Real women doesn’t make fun of being a girl and feminism-By this atleast I can assure that ,You are not women and just making fun in the name of it
    FYI-Any female is equal to men these days and doesn’t need any kind of reservations against it,so stop acting as weaker section in the society

    Guys who are creating fun using womenist words ,remember one thing you are here all because of the hardwork and sacrifices your mother went through years to place u in this level

    Apologize if my comments are harsh

    coming far miles from home ,studying and working equal to men -proves no gender is less or more in the society and the opportunity are purely on individual capacity

  9. @old-timers – In the past, what has been the latest date that you have heard of that AD applicants received notification of lottery selection?

  10. LOL. This blog’s comments is an excellent example as to why USA wants to limit immigrants. All “highly skilled”

  11. Ladies! I encourage you NOT to be so easily flattered by what a man has. Be flattered by his strength, courage, integrity, and character as a man. Be impressed by his ability to be honest, faithful, loving, and respectful to you. Be impressed because he can communicate and openly express his feelings. Be impressed because he’s got confidence, direction, and purpose in his life. Be impressed because he’s a quality man, NOT a fine man. Real Talk!”

    • Guys no matter how many memos USCIS brings., It will hardly affect the fake people. Why i am saying this because i have seen so many people in my circle who got jobs by fake resumes and got h1b approved last year. I personally know one guy who did his master from SVU and he got h1b approved directly without even one rfe.. and also this people who got approved are from one state and you can guess about whom i am talking.. this people are particular are very lucky, they get the projects very quickly and also get the h1b approve without any issues.. America is for this people..

      • if one is getting selected and other getting rejected, it’s the paths they selected, they may win today but will lose one day selecting this path, your friend might have been from top college, he might have lost, but he will win one day if he had gained good knowledge from the same college, then he knows what to do, I think your friend might not have felt this bad.

        If someone’s case is getting approved does mean, they have done the proper filing, he might have got proper documentation in support of his case and your friend might not have got that, first compare what went wrong, then start crying.

        If some one is working in restaurant, they are compromising with their self to clean the tables and plates, they are making their livelihood, not bothering people like you. Good that are not doing some pick pocketing stuff and putting our country’s pride on American road’s.

        Try to respect individual, he might be a telugu, hindi, mallu or english.

        This country is called land of opportunity, try to grab one when it comes to you. stop crying start respecting.

      • we are here in this place to discuss on h1b’s but not bs’ing the people around us, stop bs ‘ng the people, if you have some news post it here else just move away where you can show your hatred.

  12. Last year the check’s started getting cleared from Thursday of this week., so am hoping this year due to low traffic of petitions (as per LCA, SAM etc), I would be expecting some noise here from late Wednesday of this week, Hopefully lottery will be done by tomorrow or early Wednesday.

    This is just a prediction for what has happened last year!!

    All the best guys!!

  13. Just to give you a perspective of the other side of the story .
    This is also based on LCA and total number of employees. One needs to know the procedure and how thorough it is and not accepting the numbers blindly.

    April 6, 2017 16:35:27 CDT

    I did my own little math after reviewing data from various sources:

    FY2017 = Total LCA’s registered (554,953) > Top 30 employers LCA registered (167,841) > H1B applications (236,000)
    FY2018 = Total LCA’s registered (414,005) > Top 30 employers LCA registered (106,449) > LCA’s filed with Job title – Computer Programmer = (9197)
    – Total LCA filings = down 25%
    – Top employer LCA filings = down 36%

    FY2018, H1B application estimate in the range of 188,800 – 200,600 (roughly 15 – 20% lower than FY2017)

    • We see lower numbers for 2018 as the USCIS fiscal year is from Sep30, 2017 to Oct1st. 2018. As we are not counting in the LCS which will be filed for next coming months, we see less number in LCA’s.
      Even if we count the number including 1-1 LCA’s or multiple LCA’s, we WILL have lower number for 2018 as we are not counting the next 5 months LCA which will be processed.

      But all our counts are base don the LCA count till now, regression models etc.

      But if we compare with the LCA’s in 2017 which were filed till April 2017, with one’s in April 2018, WE ARE ON PAR with 2017.

      I am expecting we wont be seeing a large drop in applications for FY2019, Just hoping we will be atleast in the range on 160K to 180K. #fingerscrossed.

      • indu,

        That’s actually a very good point. We were operating on the following assumption:

        1) New employment ones are filed before the H1B window (i.e. before April), and have a starting date around Oct 1.
        2) Renewals can be filed 6 months before the expiration. Since they are originally filed with starting date of Oct 1, the window to file those are Apr – Oct.
        3) Transfers. Those have arbitrary starting dates, and only those with a starting date close to Oct 1 would be included in our data collection.

        The factors that could affect our data collection accuracy is therefore:

        a) How many renewals are filed after Apr
        b) How many transfers have starting date close to Oct

      • In an attempt to account for the extra transfer/renewal LCAs indu talked about, we extrapolated from previous year’s data and guesstimated the total LCA at 490k.

        Updated meth:

        229319 251225 490544 163246 (Model 1) 169110 (Model 2)

        • Format: 1-1 LCA positions 1-M LCA positions Total LCA positions Prediction by Model 1 Prediction by Model 2

          229319 251225 490544 163246 (Model 1) 169110 (Model 2)

  14. Just thought I’d leave this here

    APRIL 5, 2017 14:27:16 CDT

    Mr S

    As per my analysis b/w LCA count vs Petitions count:
    1. 2013 -> LCA: 412K & Petitions: 124K
    1. 2014 -> LCA: 423K & Petitions: 172K
    2. 2015 -> LCA: 528K & Petitions: 233K
    3. 2016 -> LCA: 555K & Petitions: 236K
    4. 2017 -> LCA: 411K & Petitions: 120K – 125K(Prediction)

    • I guess you are a bit late for predicting 2017.

      And also, horribly wrong about the numbers. It was 199k last year.

      Please do it for 2018 and update.

      • It scares me that no one understands this post.

        That was from last year’s prediction thread, estimating 125k. It turned out to be 199k last year. LCA based predictions are not accurate.

    • What are you trying to prove by just putting numbers?
      Do you care to deduce –> 4. 2017 -> LCA: 411K & Petitions: 120K – 125K(Prediction) how you come to this conclusion?

      I can say
      1. 2013 -> LCA: 412K & Petitions: 124K
      1. 2014 -> LCA: 423K & Petitions: 172K
      2. 2015 -> LCA: 528K & Petitions: 233K
      3. 2016 -> LCA: 555K & Petitions: 236K
      4. 2017 -> LCA: 411K & Petitions: 12000000K – 125000000K(Prediction)
      you ask how i came to the conclusion cause? im crazy!

      • I am sharing a post from last year’s forum, highlighting how inaccurate LCA based predictions are… hence “APRIL 5, 2017 14:27:16 CDT”

        • So what? whats your point? His predictions based on LCA was flawed so all other predictions will be flawed? Or according to you no one should do lCA based predictions since one guy was way off ? If the world were to think like you there would be no inventions.

          PS. Btw Bestrong did not just take # of LCA. He calculated # of positions filed through lca to come his prediction. Just don’t post discouraging posts if you don’t like it move on isnt it simple.?

    • Its funny that no one reads the entire post when they see a table with predictions 🙂

      I agree LCA analysis done in pasts have failed miserably each year. However I would also say none of those LCA analyses in the past were as thorough as the ones i see on the forum this year.

      Anyway, just few days to go – we will find it out from USCIS ..

    • “We will not have exact petition receipt numbers for a few weeks. However, the USCIS will be conducting a lottery as we have done in past years,” Arwen FitzGerald, the USCIS spokesperson

      If they are not coming out with # of petition for few weeks. Just think what would they be doing ? may be culling multiple petitions? possible right? Think about this while you go to sleep.

  15. Hi All,

    Please stop useless comments and jokes and let’s get into our interest/business for this week and coming weeks

    Any one has new updates,info or thoughts please share do share ???

    Just sharing,for me personally now tension reached on my head and couldnt focus on work,donno about others

    Bless everyone with good luck

    • I have heard one of my friend got message from attorney that her h1b petition has been selected in the lottery; the receipt is in the email.

        • Any possibility that lottery get delayed?Provided this year USCIS has additional responsibility to filter Multiple filings

          Any thoughts?

          • I highly doubt that… I think they would do the lottery as usual, just scrutinize the applications more thereafter… which then might create a few delays sending out the approval/denials/rfe.

          • It’s in the current administration’s interest to include multiple petitions in the lottery and reject them after scrutiny so that USCIS gets to keep the fee while reducing the number of final H-1B approvals.

          • @CD

            Here arises a question
            If a person file multiple application through different employer and one of them got picked in the lottery

            When are reviewing the case,how do they ever get to know about the multiple filing as the case numbers will be allocated only upon selection in lottery and initially no number to the applications sent(imagine)

            What I believe is that filtering will take place before lottery??

          • USCIS will do complete data entry for selected and un-selected applications after the lottery. The absence of premium processing gives them sufficient time to do that. They can identify multiple petitions for the same beneficiary using various data points in the application (name, date of birth, country of birth, passport number, etc.)

            If USCIS determines that the petitioners are in way related as per new memo, they will reject all such applications and not return fee, even if any of those applications has not been selected in lottery.

          • (Just realized redbus does not let you use the reply button after the thread reaches a limit)

            To answer your last question, I dont think they would spend the time filtering the applications before the lottery. Just think of it as a reason to reject an application and still keep the money. So for your example, they issue the receipt when one of the applications gets picked, but as soon as they see more applications on your SSN/Passport coming through, they either reject the previously selected application or put you on an RFE. I am just making assumptions here, coz you never can or would know what goes on inside the USCIS. Like USCIS Insider was joking about, they might just be throwing the applications against a fan and see which ones make it to the table… LOL…

    • “We will not have exact petition receipt numbers for a few weeks. However, the USCIS will be conducting a lottery as we have done in past years,” Arwen FitzGerald, the USCIS spokesperson, told PTI.

  16. Hi All,

    Could you please help me, as my case status is updated as ‘Closed – Pending Adjudication’.
    I am not able to make it out, whether the case is Closed or Pending.

  17. bunch of nerds taking over the comments section with stuff general applicant does not care about. way to reduce site’s popularity and usefulness 🙂

    • HAHAHAHA “way to reduce site’s popularity and usefulness” as if you were doing thesis on comment section in previous years. asman se tapak ke aagaya chichora

  18. Last year they did lottery on Tuesday.. So it may be the same as well this time and the official announcement of the count of petitions will come any time in this week by Friday..
    All the Best of Luck guys…

  19. Alright Guys,
    DOL keeps on updating with numbers contracting our collective belief that it should have been stopped. The good thing is that i see the rise waning considerably (rise of 281 1-1 LCAs only since last morning i checked) and i am hoping it wont effect estimations now.

    There is some time lag on part of DOL website but no way to know how much. We got a bit blinded assuming it gets updated right away on a daily basis.

    Here is updated number ( updated on 08/04/2018)

    Year —-># employees (one to one LCAs)—–> # employees ( non 1-1)—-> Total LCAs—->Applicants
    2014—-> 180000 ————————-> 234,592 ——————–> 414,542——–> 124 K
    2015—-> 217,638————————-> 314,989 ——————–> 532,627——–> 172K
    2016—-> 284,500————————-> 368,604——————–> 653,104——–> 233K
    2017—-> 299,341————————-> 360,604——————–> 659,945——–> 236K
    2018—-> 291,092————————->261,092——————–> 552,184——–> 199K
    2019—-> 205,153————————->217,680——————–> 422,833——–> TBD

    Good thing is, despite of the increase in numbers , i don’t see my range of (140 K -160K ) changing much.

    LCA will update his numbers too soon based on the current no. of employees attached. I suspect his intercepts will change a bit and should numbers may be lying between (135-155 K ) according to his method.

    Just wanted to update you guys !

      • Each year people look at LCA’s, each year they underestimate the total count. Look through the 2017 and 2018 pages.

        It will be significantly over 140k.

      • Hey, BeStrong is using mathematics, statistics to get his numbers.

        Those subjects/skills are beyond your comprehension. So, you should focus on getting over your RFEs on your multiple petitions. And yeah, that English needs working too.

        Good luck !

  20. That escalated so fast. This page used to be a serious one 2 days back. Now I can’t see any serious posts. Everything I could see here is sarcasm. What happened to BeStrong, LCA, Franc & Sam? We need you guys. The weekend gonna end

    • @NiMo

      Follow Bestrong and Franc analysis on this blog,,u will get the info

      On lighter note does NiMo means Nirav Modi…, heheh

    • Yes there is…

      Don’t follow this forum carefully… Don’t try to go through previous comments… Just come here and ask stupid questions like this as if you own all the people who spent time and effort to do the analysis…

  21. Am sure Lottery won’t happen until this Tuesday or Wednesday if they proceed with same steps like last year., I remember last year first check news came on Thursday and news on lottery and number of applications came out that following Monday. All the news about check getting cleared and news from DSO is all BS., please ignore those messages., all those who are posting those please stay away from this blog!!

    All the best for the ones who are waiting for the lottery and their results.

    Wish me alll the best even. ?

    • All the best everyone

      As 3rd timer said last year the checks enchasment started from thrusday

      My question -What was the cutoff time to wait for the cheque enchasment and also for the announcement??any info

      • I believe that checked won’t be cashed until the lottery has been done later this week.
        But couldn’t it be that USCIS started sorting petitions and cashing check for all the multiple/duplicate petitions ?

  22. @BeStrong:

    Looks like you removed me from the slack group, likely because I was fooling around with names.

    I wasn’t trolling or anything, just trying to make a joke. I apologize if you didn’t like that.

  23. Guys,
    As you would have already guessed that I am not the one talking about checks and all.

    You don’t have to check on this blog for that. If the USCIS has put it on Alert section, then consider it done. Don’t believe in BS people are putting out just to create a panic here.

    • @Bestrong ur Right!!

      @Every one please react responsibly for some days on this forum and spread positivity
      Don’t spread fake news about lottery thing in this panic suitation

    • @ Bestrong but bro last year the checks started getting cleared before the announcement from USCIS., but not too early like what people commenting here., it started from Thursday or Friday of week after documents deadline.

      • checks can get cleared only after lottery is conducted and completed. USCIS isn’t going to conduct a lottery on weekend.

  24. Correct me if I am wrong, but according to [1], if 57% of AD petitions were selected in FY2018, and USCIS selected 25k for the master cap and 75k for the regular cap, by using 25k/X + (X-25k)/X * 75/(199k-25k), the number of AD petitions should be 102k.

    If there were 52% of AD petitions selected in FY2017 [2], the number of AD petitions should be 98k.

    There were 4k more AD petitions in FY2018?! Or, USCIS actually selected less than 25k/75k petitions in FY2017.

    According to @BeStrong’s prediction, the number of total petitions this year would be 130k to 148k. Therefore, I think the probability of an AD petition getting selected would be 70.5% (assuming 102k out of 148k are AD) to 78.7% (assuming 98k out of 130k are AD).

  25. @BeStrong @Franc @LCA @USCIS-INSIDER

    Is it true that people are getting checks cashed already? or is it just fake news?

    • @3rdTime – Italy
      Unfortunately, it appears to be true ! Looks like cheques are starting to get cashed. I have been hearing from a lot of friends about this. Most of them are AD. Stay strong ! Check when your attorney too and please update here.

        • Some of them seem to have got confirmation from college DSO. Status update on i20 and also some cheque cashed confirmed from attorney. It’s not rumor.

          • That is so nice that some college offices are still open on weekends and quickly respond to your friends’ request related to I-20 update ( It will never happen in the real world!).

        • You can look for check status which was submitted for the application. If it gets en cashed, you are selected in lottery for sure. Other than that, unfortunately you have to wait for the word from attorney or employer. Good luck!

          • @Ram

            Check details wasn’t shared with me
            Hmmm,,Need to wait for info from attorney
            BTW,was lottery conducted today ?coz till yesterday USCIS was still accepting the applications

      • How can your friends tell you that checks cashed? It takes 3 days for the cashed check to show on your account! Please do not forget no bank processing on weekends.

      • I strongly believe that you just use the ID of “BeStrong” to fool people around here. You are not the person originally named “Be Strong”. Make fun of yourself.

    • Trolling aside, please understand that all of us are just ordinary people like you guys. We don’t have access to any insider information, and we just compiled and analyzed public information.

      That said, USCIS-Insider might actually know something!

    • Yes 3rd Timer,
      The week that matters the most !!

      Hopefully vast majority of us gets the good news in days to come !

        • They are lying. If you look at the last year lottery, it shows that it had been done on April 11.

      • AD or Non AD ? Was lottery selection happen in 20,000 Master’s quota or regular ?

        Have you received approval yet ? I heard a friend of a friend clients attorney confirmed 1 approval. Please share. Thank you.

      • Can you share the date of approval, time of your attorney notified and the difference in hours between receipt and notification ?

        AD or regular ? Vermont or California ?

        Thank you.

      • As per our linear aggressive forecasting technique, and extreme huh skill algorithm application, we predict your case has 80 percent chance of being selected in lottery if AD and 60 percent chance for regular.

        • @PredictionMental This guy says he received cheque. So he already selected in lottery. No need of your high skill prediction.

      • If you’re check is cashed, that means you are selected, that means the lottery has been done!
        Do you believe the lottery has been done ? I dont think so !

        Check again with him

        • Called my desi employer and he confirmed again. I can’t believe that lottery is done already. Is it possible process is different this time because of Trump effect?

      • Have you submitted multiple filings? Maybe they cashed and excluded before conducting lottery. Please check the announcement of the USCIS “The agency will reject and return filing fees for all unselected cap-subject petitions that are not prohibited multiple filings”
        Kumar confirmed that they check for multiple applications before and after the lottery and retain the fees

    • Seems like USCIS has caught those with duplicate filing based on the passport number and started encasing the cheque or one possible reason could be that no lottery this year for first 20000 AD people or USCIS has received around d 1 lakh application and going ahead with all and no lottery or people in this forum are spreading rumors……

  26. Still it will be wonder to see applications reaching over 130000 knowing very well how h1 extensions are getting screwed stating reasons such as over qualified etc. Also GC receiving rfes and no employer ready to accept the application until its GC or citizen. God bless america.

    • FY 2018 statement -“The agency will reject and return filing fees for all unselected cap-subject petitions that are not – – – duplicate filings.”

      FY2019 statement -“The agency will reject and return filing fees for all unselected cap-subject petitions that are not prohibited – – -multiple filings (PDF, 119 KB).”

      There is a change the statement, This means it may be from Parent, Not connected employers , Connected employers or any..This is really a good news…Let all get rejected if anyone have filed many H1B applications…

  27. The USCIS lists -“The agency will reject and return filing fees for all unselected cap-subject petitions that are not prohibited multiple filings (PDF, 119 KB).”

    Question – Does this imply that – after the lottery, they will again review all unselected applications for multiple filings prior to reurning filing fees ? This would mean that a rejection notification might take months to arrive unless they separate the multiple applications from the rest.

    • Yes, it means exactly that. They would need time to figure out if the multiple filings are indeed for “unrelated entities”.

      • Additionaly, the rejection notice for a single petition would be straightforward. They should send the rejection to all single petition and keep the rejected petitions that were multiple filings. At least that is my opinion, and it is rather simple to do too.

        • This means, they are tracking petitions through a unique identifier such as a passport number to track repetitions. This (might) also mean that all petitions will be reviewed prior to the lottery since I am guessing there is no ther way to say how many petitions include multiple filings and thus hard to predict their impact on amount of petitions selected for review. Which might imply that the lottery will take place a little later than normal.

            There is a change the statement

          • Don’t understand between duplicate and multiple petitions.

            Basically there is no change to process.

            Uscis just want to harass is by issuing more rfe and delaying approvals.

            At least one thing confirm – 100 percent multiple filings will receive rfe and rejections. Even if they don’t get remedy, their approval will be intentionally delayed by uscis. New strategy to harass people.

    • Yes, they will do that. They may not be able to give rejections for every duplicate case right away, some may come later…Everything depends on the case…Having a receipt notice, does not mean that they will not get a reject notice later at some point stating that they filed duplicate petition. They can even revoke an approved H1B petition. You can check an example on USCIS website on Duplicate Petition Revoked and AAO denied too

    • I wont be surprised to see “multiple applications” being one of the top 3 RFE reasons for this season. other two being SO and day-1 CPT status maintenance. Also, having AD wont help much because day-1 CPT is majority masters’ pool that ran out or OPT and STEM extension.

    • I have a feeling if they take more time in doing the lottery say not doing it this week , we may think they are working on filtering. But it is just wishful thinking. Too slim !

    • This is what’s gonna happen:

      1) All incomplete applications (missing signature, missing/incorrect checks, etc.) will be rejected straight away without being entered in the lottery. The remaining applications received by close of business on Apr 6, including multiple applications for same beneficiary, will be entered for the lottery.

      2) After lottery, complete data entry will be done for all selected and un-selected applications. Checks will be cashed for all selected applications.

      3) All un-selected applications for which the beneficiary does not have any other petition filed for him/her – these will be returned along with filing fees soon after the lottery.

      4) Beneficiaries who have multiple petitions (whether or not selected in the lottery) – their applications will be further scrutinized to see if the petitioners or job positions are related, as per the new memo.

      5) If USCIS is able to prove the petitions are related, all such petitions for the same beneficiary will be rejected and filing fees will not be returned, even if any of these petitions have not been selected in the lottery.
