- May 5th : USCIS announced today that data entry of all FY15 H-1B cap petitions has been completed. USCIS will now begin returning all H-1B cap petitions that were not selected in the lottery. They have announced it on their twitter and facebook pages.
- April 18th : USCIS announced that they will begin H1B FY 2015 premium processing from April 28th, 2014. Previously they announced that they will begin, ‘no later than April 28th’. They just clarified that. You can read on USCIS website

When will H1B Visa 2015 Season Begin ?
USCIS accepted H1B Visa 2015 applications from April 1st, 2014. They had the window open for 5 working days. USCIS stopped accepting H1B Petitions for FY 2015 from Monday April 7th as more applications were received than the required cap of 85,000 petitions.
What would be the Cap count for H1B Visa 2015 quota ?
No changes to the H1B Cap for FY15, the immigration reform discussions did not go through, the cap limit remained same as last year.
- Regular H1B Quota : 65,000
- Masters H1B Quota : 20,000
- It is to be noted that 6,800 visas every year are set aside for Singapore and Chile Free trade agreement filings, which is called as H1B1 program.

How soon should I start planning for H1B Visa 2015 ?

How do I find Sponsors for H1B visa 2015 ?

What would be the H1B Filing fee for Fiscal year 2015 ?
There has not been any changes in the filing fee for the past couple of years. It did not change for fiscal year 2014. The H1B Visa 2015 filing fee can range anywhere from $1,575 to $4,325 based on the size of the company (number of employees ). Also, the attorney fee can range from $700 to $3000. H1B Visa Immigration Reform – CIR – Proposed Changes ? The comprehensive immigration reform has not passed yet. But, lets say, if it gets passed, the below changes may happen.
- Annual H1B Cap will be increased from 65,000 per year to 110,000. If exteme demand, it can go up to a maximum of 180,000.
- The H1B quota for STEM degree holders from American Schools will increase from 20,000 to 25,000
- H1B Visa fees can up to USD $10,000.
- More stringent rules on H1B visa adjudication.
- Mandatory LCA posting on DOL website for at least 30 days, before it is certified.

I feel so much respect for all AD’s who dint make it last year and had good news this time. Not sure how I can manage to wait for this long year before filling again.
I hear ya! I’m AD/RP/VT with OPT expiring in 3 weeks, and my employer’s attorney basically said to assume I am not through and hence will have to cease employment in 3 weeks. My manager, like me, is devastated and asking me to look at all options to continue to work with the company.
So frustrating to have an advanced US degree + a job in a recovering economy under a manager who wants you, and still get pushed out the door because of a lottery.

To all those who are RFE/PP, this was my experience. Got my Receipt that got picked in the lottery on 14th April, but status was “CASE NOT FOUND” until May 1st and then it showed RFE. My lawyer received the email on 1ST May, asking me to submit the copies of I20’s , followed by my submission on Friday to the lawyer and them couriering it on May 2nd and USCIS updated my status to “Initial Review” back from RFE on May 5th. May 9th, Just now got the approval status. Just wanted to show you guys how the process worked in my case until the approval. This might be different for case to case basis though.

My case status was “not found” until this morning when I checked online, it went to “Request for information”. Have anyone gone through this? What kind of information USCIS want you to provide and how long it will take? Thank you!
i am in the same situation. first, check with your attorney to see what documentation uscis request, usually it will be your company documentation or your project information. second, follow up with you HR to get all documentation, it will take couple days since need collaboration with other department. and then, you company will send the documentation to your attorney to view and verify. nothing you can do but wait…..
Thank you to all that responded. Mine situation is a kind of different. I do not have a lawyer, and I prepared all the information from LCA to I-129 by myself. Do I need to hire a lawyer? mine went RFE on May 2. The Employer or Attorney whoever is responsible will take care of it. I heard they pick up some random samples for additional verification. Or may be the employer missed some required document.. not sure which is the case.

Case not found on USCIS tracking website till April 28.
Status Acceptance till May 2.
Status Initial Review from May3 to May 6.
Status changed to Request for Evidence on May 7.
Since mine is Regular Processing I need to wait for the RFE to come in postal mail.
I am currently on CPT and working full time, so my guess is that the RFE is related to my CPT.
Mine too went in RFE, its on company related documents not sure exactly in details. Hope my employer will submit all the required documents ..lets see

My husband works for Wipro, and got selected in the lottery. He got an update from GIMS today afternoon. However, seems like we are the only ones who are not so excited hearing this. We did face the same situation during 2013-14 when he got selected back then in lottery and got rejected after a silly RFE. We are hopeful that the application gets processed this time without any further hiccups. RFE was related to client letter and education details. He shared a valid one and it still got rejected. We never knew why it ended up like that.

well i would not comment on what you have written about your journey. but you know a lot happens in life i know few very talented people around me but they have never been to onsite even after 9-10 years of IT experience with big MNCs so patience is the key in life.
you might or might not be knowing but jean martin and tringapps are like same companies. one of my friend has applied thru tringapps and i have thru jeanmartin. i got email from HR saying that there are minimal chances but we can not loose hope until we receive packets back home.
all i can say is dont see this site for a day or two and get a day off. things should be fine.

My application receipt date was 10th April and it was notified on 16th April. Receipt number was not traceable till 28th April but on 29th April i was able to trace it and the status was “Post Decision Activity” with approved status. But now the status is moved backwards to “Decision” status with the below updates.
“On May 7, 2014, this I129 PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER was approved and we sent you an e-mail notice. Please follow any instructions on the notice. ”

I have similar scenario like you.
I have able to trace my case from the first date (Apr-14) and it was in Acceptance state till Apr-29. On Apr 29 it moved to “Post-Decision”, but on May-1 back to “Decision”. The strange part of it, my lawyer, have not gotten any update about it and I am on PP.

I am hearing that the check uscis case status on iaura is working for a couple of people. How about you?
Seems like USCIS is not following any order in sending receipts.. Someone has got EAC14141… on May 6th whereas few got EAC14147… EAC14148… before May 6th…. So I think tweet by USCIS is valid and all waiting folks can keep up the hopes untill our packets are returned.
I have requested my employer to call USCIS on Monday 12th if we dont hear anything by this weekend. As 12th is 32nd day since the lottery date, USCIS is responsible to give some updates after 30 days. I hope USCIS will respond promptly to the query.

My company lawyer is horrible, they refused to call California service center as they mentioned there is no number to reach to USCIS. This is my 2nd time still no luck. My colleagues who were in regular processing master quota received the receipts on April 23 and I am waiting even though I filled under premium. God knows how much more to wait. Can you share the details on what number they can call USCIS

Not sure if my employer would be interested in dialing the number but will request to do so.
It is not like that. it all depends, whether you are directly linked with Attorney->Employee or Attorney->Usprocessing team->Employer-Employee
Case 1 takes harldy 1/2 days, case 2 days 1/2 weeks.
So if receipt is created on 8-May. the case1 guy might receive on 9/10-May, however case 2 guy might receive it on 15-22-May (so too-much gap)

– April 2/3 week is when USCIS started issuing receipts. That time they have first issued and later encased…
May 6th & 7th – I read people says, Cheque has encased and they yet to receive receipts…
– I heard my employer says they keep track of cheque details and identifies the candidate.
