      • Just go by the latest receipt number and then search the status of series of numbers like you have EAC1414754483 search for EAC*** 4484, 4490 and so on if they are generated you see them in initial review else it says check your number…

It will be sent through USPS (for RP cases). Should arrive within a week or 10 days max. Attorney can follow-up w/ USCIS if it doesn’t reach within 30 days.

  13. Hi
I am curious to know if, after getting picked up in the lottery and after receiving a receipt no, does anyone see their case in “initial review” stage with the following message

“your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129, PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER.”

    What does this message mean?

    Reply
        • If you look at your EAD card there should be one alien registration number.

everytime you apply for visa change/ extension that changes.

          Reply
          • I guess you are right.
            I do I have a “A*** *** ***” number on my OPT EAD notice.
So they might have assigned a new “A” (Alien Reg No) number to my I129 case, and so is the message.

So if I am not mistaken, this must be true for all AD folks who have a valid EAD/OPT and applied for H1-B I 129 petition.

Can AD friends please confirm their case status and message underneath.

    • Some one asked this question 2 days back too, and here is my response.

I had the same status when I applied for L1 extension last year after getting the receipt number. That simply is not your status message if you don’t have any alien number. Don’t worry about it, that will be changed soon once they have a decision on your case.

      Reply
      • What makes me think is almost all the cases has below status,

On April 10, 2014, we received this I129 PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case.

While message in my case mentions date as April 18th,

No matter how hard I try, I cant remmber what was the message in my case when I cheked it first time sometime last week.

I am quite new to this and do not know how long it takes for approval. Could any of you help understand what would be next step? i am currently on H4 and looking for conversion to H1

    • Congrats..,
Ask them to share the receipt no so that you can only check your case status. And it takes min 2months for decision either apporval or rejection
Hope this will help you…all the best

    • KK,
Typical processing time is 2-6 months depending upon the work load. If RFE is issued then it can take longer. If your employer shares the receipt number, then you can track it online. If not, just wait patiently to hear from your employer about USCIS’ decision.

  26. Hello all,
Based on what I have read from most of the earlier comments, people who have applied under AD/PP/VT stand no chance, if they have not received the receipt number yet. Is that correct ??? And also can anyone let me know from where are they obtaining the latest receipt number ? And also how to read out the date and number out of it. Sorry for being such a noob !!!
    Thanks !
