- May 5th : USCIS announced today that data entry of all FY15 H-1B cap petitions has been completed. USCIS will now begin returning all H-1B cap petitions that were not selected in the lottery. They have announced it on their twitter and facebook pages.
- April 18th : USCIS announced that they will begin H1B FY 2015 premium processing from April 28th, 2014. Previously they announced that they will begin, ‘no later than April 28th’. They just clarified that. You can read on USCIS website

When will H1B Visa 2015 Season Begin ?
USCIS accepted H1B Visa 2015 applications from April 1st, 2014. They had the window open for 5 working days. USCIS stopped accepting H1B Petitions for FY 2015 from Monday April 7th as more applications were received than the required cap of 85,000 petitions.
What would be the Cap count for H1B Visa 2015 quota ?
No changes to the H1B Cap for FY15, the immigration reform discussions did not go through, the cap limit remained same as last year.
- Regular H1B Quota : 65,000
- Masters H1B Quota : 20,000
- It is to be noted that 6,800 visas every year are set aside for Singapore and Chile Free trade agreement filings, which is called as H1B1 program.

How soon should I start planning for H1B Visa 2015 ?

How do I find Sponsors for H1B visa 2015 ?

What would be the H1B Filing fee for Fiscal year 2015 ?
There has not been any changes in the filing fee for the past couple of years. It did not change for fiscal year 2014. The H1B Visa 2015 filing fee can range anywhere from $1,575 to $4,325 based on the size of the company (number of employees ). Also, the attorney fee can range from $700 to $3000. H1B Visa Immigration Reform – CIR – Proposed Changes ? The comprehensive immigration reform has not passed yet. But, lets say, if it gets passed, the below changes may happen.
- Annual H1B Cap will be increased from 65,000 per year to 110,000. If exteme demand, it can go up to a maximum of 180,000.
- The H1B quota for STEM degree holders from American Schools will increase from 20,000 to 25,000
- H1B Visa fees can up to USD $10,000.
- More stringent rules on H1B visa adjudication.
- Mandatory LCA posting on DOL website for at least 30 days, before it is certified.

Yesterday someone asked how much security deposit splendtek guys are asking.
They are asking for $1000 cheque and they said until they receive the cheque they will not send our receipts. If you are selected in lottery, you will receive a call soon.
I asked the HR if this was the case why didn’t you guys ask for the deposit earlier, why take this long??..The HR gave some silly long explanation. However, at least now I know how i can get my receipt number.
I had already given them a post dated check for $ 1000 for security deposit. But they are telling they don’t have that check now they shredded it and need new one!! how can i believe this? Is this the case with anyone?

I had send both cheques together back in february .Now they are telling they didnt the encash the security deposit cheque . so they shredded it !!( or they misplaced it i wonder) they need new one to send my receipt number!!

They informed me on May 7th the Cheque got en-cashed, after no news, I’m not even got a call from any one??
you should call them rather than waiting for them to call you. I guess they are making calls few per day.
Main problem is they don’t pick up the call if at all they pick up, don’t respond properly. Anyways I will try contacting them.

Hey as far as I know, people have already started getting approvals. If you guys did not get to know any news so far, please go for an alternate plan.
By now, you should know from your employer if you are selected in lottery.
If your employer has nothing to inform you then you’l be receiving your packet back soon.
Talk to your employer and they will help you.
Atleast the processing of application is speeded up, then people won’t have to go through the frustration of waiting…
Can some miracle happen and the processing of H1B Visa appliations be speeded up….
USCIS will take a lot of time , they can take upto 6 months or 8 months to process the application.
There is no limit as such , it is totally upto them to process the applications.
Waiting is the only option and waiting is terrible. How long?

Mine is NonAd/RP/CA and it was approved on May 22. My employer was notified by attorney on May 28 that he received the approval notice. Attorney dispatched the original on Jun 6th through FedEx and i received the same on Jun 10th.

It usually arrives within a week time. Per USCIS, petitioner should receive the approval notice within 2 weeks. If it doesn’t happen then the attorney should follow up with USCIS to find out the cause of the delay.

I got my petition approved for 2015 on 21st May (EAC/ PP/ Non AD). Yesterday i along with my wife & 2 year old son went to Dhaka consulate for our visa interview & with a very brief interview (VO only asked few info) came that magic words- ” congratulations! Your visa got approved. Please collect your passport on 24th June”. Thanks to this forum & all the people who share their experience everyday. I learned a lot from all of you. I thought to share this as i saw lot of people commented that, we cant go for visa stamping before 90 days (means Jule 1st) but this is not true. You can go for your visa stamping for h1b any time once you have the approved I797B.

When are we supposed to travell to US. Can we travel now if we get Visa stamped or should we travel after 1st Oct?
The earliest you can travel is 22nd Sept, 2014, if your start date is 1st Oct. One can travel 10 days before the start date as mention in the petition.

Accenture usually collates the information and shares the details usually every fortnight on Mondays. People Mobility would usually not respond to your mails/calls. But you could raise a request on myrequests for your status. Lat year I came to know my status by raising the request.
I still haven’t heard anything from USCIS. No returned package either.

However, I recently got an offer from other company and I don’t know how the H1B process goes if I have intention to go to the other offer before October 1st. “Technically yes, but the timing is critical and you should proceed with caution. Be aware that this will NOT be considered an H-1B transfer if you are filing to change employers before October 1st. Assuming that you are in the U.S. and filed a change of status with Employer A, you could file a new change of status to H-1B with Employer B but you would not be subject to the cap since you have already been counted. Be aware that Employer A could withdraw the approved H-1B at any time. Also, if filing a new change of status, you need to ensure that you have enough time to get the approval by October 1st. Your other option is to wait until after October 1st and then file it as an H-1B transfer. Keep in mind that you will need to be able to document that you are maintaining your H-1B status with Employer A from October 1st.”

Don’t worry. It takes time. There is no sequential order followed as such by USCIS in approving petitions. Even if your’s is approved now, you will have to wait till October 1st to start working in US.

yes, they asked us to do the same and said it will be refunded when we complete one year. I asked the HR to send a mail regarding this and she answered that they are not sending any mails about this.
Now, I am not sure about how we can trust her words saying they’l send receipt immediately and security deposit will be refunded.

Hey thank you..one of the document was not submitted because my attorney didn’t receive it. Because they wanted to submit my docs on time, they missed it. I had to submit my degree certificate along with that. It was a simple RFE. Hope you too get your approval soon 🙂
Mine is under RFE Response Review since June 4th. It is on its 15th days now. The RFE was about Pay stubs and W-2s.
