- May 5th : USCIS announced today that data entry of all FY15 H-1B cap petitions has been completed. USCIS will now begin returning all H-1B cap petitions that were not selected in the lottery. They have announced it on their twitter and facebook pages.
- April 18th : USCIS announced that they will begin H1B FY 2015 premium processing from April 28th, 2014. Previously they announced that they will begin, ‘no later than April 28th’. They just clarified that. You can read on USCIS website

When will H1B Visa 2015 Season Begin ?
USCIS accepted H1B Visa 2015 applications from April 1st, 2014. They had the window open for 5 working days. USCIS stopped accepting H1B Petitions for FY 2015 from Monday April 7th as more applications were received than the required cap of 85,000 petitions.
What would be the Cap count for H1B Visa 2015 quota ?
No changes to the H1B Cap for FY15, the immigration reform discussions did not go through, the cap limit remained same as last year.
- Regular H1B Quota : 65,000
- Masters H1B Quota : 20,000
- It is to be noted that 6,800 visas every year are set aside for Singapore and Chile Free trade agreement filings, which is called as H1B1 program.

How soon should I start planning for H1B Visa 2015 ?

How do I find Sponsors for H1B visa 2015 ?

What would be the H1B Filing fee for Fiscal year 2015 ?
There has not been any changes in the filing fee for the past couple of years. It did not change for fiscal year 2014. The H1B Visa 2015 filing fee can range anywhere from $1,575 to $4,325 based on the size of the company (number of employees ). Also, the attorney fee can range from $700 to $3000. H1B Visa Immigration Reform – CIR – Proposed Changes ? The comprehensive immigration reform has not passed yet. But, lets say, if it gets passed, the below changes may happen.
- Annual H1B Cap will be increased from 65,000 per year to 110,000. If exteme demand, it can go up to a maximum of 180,000.
- The H1B quota for STEM degree holders from American Schools will increase from 20,000 to 25,000
- H1B Visa fees can up to USD $10,000.
- More stringent rules on H1B visa adjudication.
- Mandatory LCA posting on DOL website for at least 30 days, before it is certified.

Finally got the news on Thursday that my application had cleared the lottery… Though no further details were shared yet… but after being rejected in the lottery last year… clearing the lottery this year was a gr8 news…. !!! All the best to all… And TCS Kolkata people, as per FDFU this is not the final list as they have still not received any rejected list… All others are still awaiting results… So please don’t loose hope now…!!!

Dont know about North states in INDIA. But we ( INDIANS ) badly use the system. I know many candidates froms Hyderabad/Ameerpet went to USA on H1B with many fake years experience and back to INDIA coz lack of tech skill.
And INDIAN IT Companies apply for < 5 years experience candidates to save money. Majority We ( INDIANS ) borned to voilate the rules/system.

I think BAL updates the portal every day. my colleague from my account got his update on 22 may that he was selected. I have heard from reliable sources that this time CSC had almost 50% selected in the lottery almost 900
After 5th May I think BAL has not received any receipt no.
Do you ppl aware of statistics of tcs last year? Meaning how many visas were applied nd how many go selected… I heard from fdfu team that they have released arround1500 visa results as of now…so i think we can expect some more…

In my project 2 out of seven have been selected . Rest including me are still awaiting .. But some where down the line , I have that funny feeling tht game is over , … shall move on to looking for European onsite openings

Last year TCS Applied 9000 Applications and cleared 6000 and for this year it has applied 11000 and results are yet to come!

I got the update from BAL that my application got selected in the lottery on May 1. I’m not sure about other companies, but i don’t think CSC hide’s the lottery result since BAL directly update the status on their website.

My status updated as RFE in BAL site on 22 may. Until that day i had only status – 03/30 H-1B petition submitted to USCIS.
basically both CSC and BAL had my WAC number but they missed to update in site.

I am from CSC Noida ,BAL updated on 9 th May that got through in lottery and on 16 received an email regarding the approval of my visa …SO CSC is transparent and not holding any thing even receipt numbers like TCS and Wipro
…@Neha there are many people in CSC where status is same as yours ..BAL have nothing to update until they receive something from USCIS rejection/selection …I did an email to Funk and Michelle abt this even my approved status is not updated on BAL as they are waiting for Hard copy similar is the case with rejections yes RFE status is updated as it channels through email

Attorney said that USCIS informed them that the processing has been done and they are just sending rejection packages.

Splendtek got $1000 from me. I am in US.. H4.. They said Checks were cashed but its been 1 month and they never came back with the receipt number..

I got my H1 approval. I am on CPT and is expiring August 1. I can stay here from August to October without working. But not sure If I can go outside US and then come after October as mine is COS. Any inputs.
I think if you go outside US, you will have to undergo the visa stamping. So I think it’s better and safe for you to stay back in US for that period.

Given that I am a full time and working for a big company , I don’t anticipate any problems with stamping.
No problems other than stamping. You will face the stamping problem sooner or later unless you decide to stay here until getting your green card. Being a full time in a big company will improve your chances for sure.
You can also continue to work in your company. Ask your University’s International Students’ Office to issue your cap gap I-20. Since your H1-B has already been approved, your cap gap I-20 will allow you to keep working till 30th September and from October 1st, you will be on H1-B. Its just that you can’t re-enter US without stamping if you go out of US.
Which School are you in right now with CPT? Does your COS from F1 to H1 is also approved along with H1? of just H1 approved without COS?

It will be a matter of few days to get approval once the RFE document is received and replied back to USCIS with correct information. If USCIS finds the reply incorrect then it may go for another RFE.

I do not think so. Maybe few H1B petitioners got their rejections back, However, most of the people are still waiting for the receipt. Hopefully we will hear from USCIS next week or so.
