USCIS Official News – Cap Count Update
- May 5th : USCIS announced today that data entry of all FY15 H-1B cap petitions has been completed. USCIS will now begin returning all H-1B cap petitions that were not selected in the lottery. They have announced it on their twitter and facebook pages.
- April 18th : USCIS announced that they will begin H1B FY 2015 premium processing from April 28th, 2014. Previously they announced that they will begin, ‘no later than April 28th’. They just clarified that. You can read on USCIS website
- April 11th : USCIS announced that it received about 172,500 petitions for the H1B Visa 2015 Quota. Read USCIS : 172,500 Received – H1B Lottery Summary
- April 7th : USCIS released official press note saying that FY 2015 cap reached today. For details, read : USCIS H1B Visa 2015 Cap Reached on April 7th.
- April 6th : USCIS non-working day. Weekend ! Will NOT have any update.
- April 5th : USCIS non-working day. Weekend ! Will NOT have any update.
- April 4th : No official update from USCIS ! If you have to file second petition due to courier delivery issues, you need to do it soon by Monday as per AILA note.
- April 3rd : USCIS update to AILA ( American Immigration Lawyers Association )
- USCIS has updated AILA team that, if there were courier delivery problems to USCIS office for the H1B petitions filed, USCIS will accept a second H1B Application for FY 2015 under certain circumstances.
- What it means to you is that, if your petition is delayed by your mail carrier, you can submit a new H1B Application with New Fee and Explanation for the delay including a requisition to withdraw the first petition. If there is no explanation and you file a new petition, USCIS will consider it as duplicate petition and deny/revoke the same and not refund the filing fee.
- USCIS is monitoring the situation and update us with more info. Check AILA Updates
- April 2nd : No Official USCIS Update today on the cap count
- April 1st : USCIS starts accepting applications. NO official update from USCIS yet.
- USCIS Official : H1B Visa for FY 2015 accepted from April 1st. Summary Info

can we still have some hope or is it over
Well…. Are there any AD left or all got their H1 except me? This wait is like killing without attacking.. Now I am eager for any email.. a rejection will also be fine than just waiting!! All IT companies in India suck!! and because of this stinky people who do not even send 20% of people for whom they filed H1 here, we do not get H1who are already here, and whose career depend on the “lottery”. This is a fake situation created by these companies who do not even have so many jobs, but continue to file H1 b even if that resource is not required here! Its not the matter of who deserve it!.. its the matter than more than half of the people do not even come here even if their H1 bs are approved!

I have been following this forum very closely. Just wanted to update that I received my confirmation from my employer yesterday. Mine was a AD/RP. Don’t lose hope. I know Its getting delayed but keep your calm, pray to God and hope for the best.

I got a notification from my employer that the check that they issued USCIS for my petition has been cleared. However they did not get the receipt number yet. Does that mean I am selected in the lottery? Non AD/RG/VT.
On top of it, read the USCIS update today that they have completed generating receipts for H1B 2015 quota. So really worried!! Anyone else in the same boat?

I dont know why USCIS wont update their main webpage and will update their facebook and twitter accounts they are not the formal channel of communication…. I would appreciate if you could also post the link of the source of your information.

I also from HCL, no news at all, still waiting.
I got to know that ISG has only received 250 approvals till yesterday . They will received many more in next 1-2 week and complete list will be available in 2-4 week.

My petition was selected in the lottery today. It was non-AD/RP and the receipt# is EAC-14-138-54**. I work for Infosys and the status was updated in our internal system with acknowledgement notice date as 10th April.

My employer is tracking by fees, if they have accepted the application they will charge the fees, multiple employees got confirmed like this though for my application they havent charge yet, waiting for updates.

Same here Shan. I am in PP/Graduate student. However, i haven’t received any receipt yet. According to USCIS they started Premium Process on April 28 – yet here I am – Don’t even know whether I am selected or not ??
Can any one suggest me some good universities which accept admissions for summer 2014. I filed my H1 and didnot get any update regarding the lottery.
I am yet to hear from employer. Let’s hope for best. It is under normal processing. I m wondering most of you received receipts so early. We are told that we will know by 2nd week of May 2014.

2nd week of May is by when all of the receipts/most of the receipts should have been received.
That is also by when all the petition decisions on PP should have been made unless there are RFEs.
I got my receipt on 28th Afternoon PST from california center , and it did say that application was selected on April 10th , lets hope everyone grows professionally and personally.

Finally, it at least got selected in the lottery after three years wait.

Is anyone still waiting for AD/PP? I got my receipt on April 14th but my fiance is still waiting. We are both graduates from a US school. This is really really unfair. Is there any chance he might get the visa? His lawyers don’t have any information. Do you know if they are done with informing AD/PP because they said they would start processing on April 28th for PP? Thanks, I would really appreciate any feedback.
why do you need to two visas, marry her and let her stay legally in us, we all are frustrated with the lottery being unfair to so many single individuals who do not have other options. btw still waiting(AD,PP)…sorry if it hurts you.

This was totally uncalled for. I asked people a simple question. Btw, a friend in my company is also AD/PP/VT and she was told yesterday that she isn’t getting a visa now so she needs to leave at the end of her OPT (which expires in June).
If they pass H4 work authorization, I would gladly get married now!

i think, they might directly send a letter of approval on 12 th May. Bacause few cases are seen, where Husband and wife applied for H1 and H4 respectively. And the H$ has come in the mail already but PP H1 is not received by the attorneys. Therefore it means that the H1 is selected in lottery (PP). USICS does not have time to send receipt notice. They will just approval. Best of Luck.. I know its a really difficult situation. Especially for AD because, we have struggled a long way to be here. Bearing thousands of dollars of education loans And people sitting in India just get it easily or house wives just get it without doing anything.. Its totally unfair.

People are not just sitting in India, they work harder then you do in a US university. And most of them have much more industry experience even before you land up your first job after your degree in US. Perhaps you will even be working for one such Indian as your manager in your job.
Thousands of dollars loans? Did USCIS or people sitting in India tell you to take it up? It is like you have shit in your pants and blaming the govt for not providing enough toilet seats. Or did your so called housewives tell you.

First, the system is what it is so there is no use in sniping. Nobody applied for a lottery, it became a lottery because too many applied. And I know many of my former colleagues who got their H1Bs and never turned up here as they were released from their projects. Indian IT firms misuse it by putting in thousands of applications, and many of them are just placeholders waiting for projects. We both know that.
But let me make our perspective clear to you, people who have studied here and have full time jobs here have every right to be frustrated. No one asked us to come here. Agreed! The difference is that people coming from India would probably come here for a few years and then go back to their jobs. A person applying from here would have to forfeit his job, and then go back to India unemployed, financially crippled and hunt for a job (and it is not a bed of roses) if he decides not to waste more money here on a masters or a phd again!
Second, most IT companies used to send professionals on L1 visas till a few years back and then switched completely to H1Bs after the Infy fraud litigation. I worked in one myself so I know the system, I had the chance to go on-site instead I opted to come here!
Third, the 65000 quota was not initially designed to support outsourcing and offshore consultants to come to the US. It was for professionals without an advanced degree, so Indian IT companies use a loophole in the system that no US politician has the political courage to amend, ergo it is call non-AD not universal RP!
So, we all have our aspirations, but our frustration stems from financial ruin, professional setbacks, emotional setbacks, and if we have loved ones here worse! Anyway it is what it is, good luck to you!

Last year I missed the lottery and pushed the year very hard competing all my career challenges, now it all ended. Hurrah!!! I’m selected in lottery this year under regular and non advanced degree for California.

my consultency informed today that my H1b pettion got selected in lottry.
My employer has filed my H1 on April 1st through Premium process, I haven’t got any update if it is even picked in lottery or not till today. What does that mean? Do I still have chances of getting considered for processing?
I am in same boat, I have gave up hope, I advice you to look for enrolling in schools now, and Guys please advice, my opt is expiring on Nov 30, 2014, So when do i need to enroll in school? Do I need to enroll for which semester( Fall 2014 or Spring 2015)? Thanks
@muza: Your OPT expires on Nov 30, 2014. You can remain in the US for 60 days (grace period). You can enroll for Spring 2015 semester and get an I-20 issued with a start date no late than Jan 30, 2015. I would not recommend enrolling in Fall 2014, since you will be wasting about 4 months of OPT time (assuming you are employed). Good luck !
BTW: I am still waiting under AD/PP/VT.

My case was filed in Vermont ,premium processing ,Non AD.I recieved the recepit number 15 days back.However on the UCIS website when i check case status it says your case can not be found..do any other people facing the same issue..??or othere people are able to view case status..
Even in case of my wife the status is not reflecting . It says your case can not be found. The employer is saying the status will reflect after May 1. From today they have started updating the system.
My employer just informed me that they have started to get receipt notices for normal processing applications last week.
They have not received mine until now, they are expecting some more responses this week.

Its really irritating to wait even in knowing whether our application would be considered for processing. I wonder y USCIS s not taking an effort in upgrading or stabilizing this process. Don’t u think it wud b relieving for both the ends if they just publish the results online on a whole just like the education results? May be they could use passport or any other number as reference. . I m sure this s not going to b tough for them to implement with US being so called “technologically sound” country.
