H1B 2026 Lottery Completed, Results, Sample Selection Notice

Everyone who aspires to work in the US on an H1B Visa leaves their future to a random selection process, aka H1B Visa Lottery. The odds of selection in the H1B Lottery continue to go down every year with increasing demand. Every year, the last week of March is probably the most nerve-wracking period for many of these H1B aspirants as their future is decided by an H1B Lottery.

This year, USCIS accepted H1B visa registrations for the Fiscal Year(FY) 2026 from March 7th, 2025, to March 24th, 2025. There were no glitches and no extensions to the registration dates.

Similar to previous years, for this year’s H1B FY 2026 season, USCIS sent out the lottery selection notifications before the official announcement from USCIS. The official press release came in on March 31st, 2025 indicating the lottery was completed and all were notified.

This article will cover all the official and unofficial updates related to H1B FY 2026 lottery results, including the updates from our community members & attorneys. We will continue to update this article regularly as we get more updates.

Background: H1B 2026 Season, Past Lottery Results Dates

On February 5th, 2025, USCIS made a press release announcing the dates for the H1B Visa 2026 Registration, including changes related to the same, like changes in H1B Lottery fees, account-related feature changes, payments-related changes, etc.

USCIS started accepting the H1B registrations for the FY 2026 season starting on Friday, March 7th, 2025, at Noon EST and closed on Monday, March 24th, 2025, at Noon EST. There were no issues reported by USCIS or any attorney, and everything went well this year. Hence, USCIS did not make any extensions to the registration period dates.

History of H1B Lottery Results Announcements from FY 2023 to FY 2025

As per the USCIS press release, they plan to announce the H1B lottery registration selection results by March 31st, 2025. But, in reality, the results do not come at once, they are released in batches over a period of a few days and before March 31st, based on historical pattern of the lottery results.

Below is historical information on how H1B Lottery results came in over the previous years.

How did the H1B FY 2025 Season Lottery Results come in?

• During the last year for H1B FY 2025 season, the H1B registration period ended on March 25th, 2024. The first batch of lottery results were spotted by users on March 27th, 2024. The results kept coming in for a few days.
• USCIS made an official press release on April 1st, 2024, saying they completed the lottery and notified all the selected applications. More at USCIS News: H1B 2025 Lottery Done, All Notified, New Changes.

How did the H1B FY 2024 Season Lottery Results come in?

• Previously for the H1B Visa 2024 season, the H1B registration period ended on March 20th, 2023, and the results started coming in starting from Friday evening, March 24th, 2023. The point to note is that the results started coming out four days after the closure of the H1B registration period, and the official announcement came after seven days. • USCIS made the official announcement on March 27th, 2023, that the H1B Cap reached for FY 2024 Season.

How did the H1B FY 2023 Season Lottery Results come in?

• Also, for the H1B FY 2023 season, the results started to come in starting on Friday, March 25th, 2022. You may read H1B 2023 Lottery Results, Sample for full details of last year.
• Also, for the FY 2023 season, USCIS officially announced on March 29th, 2022, that they had completed the first round of the H1B Lottery for FY 2023.

💡 As per historical results announcement patterns, for the H1B FY 2026 season, we were anticipating the results to come in either on a Thursday or Friday evening, and they came in just as expected today, Thursday evening of March 27th, 2025.

News: USCIS Completes H1B Lottery, All Notified

USCIS released a press note today, March 31st, 2025 stating that they have completed the H1B Lottery first round for the FY 2026 season and informed all the employers and attorneys.

As per the press release, only applicants selected are eligible to submit an H1B petition with USCIS. You cannot transfer the H1B registrations.

H1B 2026 Lottery Results are Coming in, News Updates

The H1B Lottery Results for the FY 2026 season have started and are slowly coming in. In the sections below, we track both unofficial(community users, attorneys) and official(USCIS) updates on the H1B 2026 Lottery results. We will update the below sections daily until we have the official press release from USCIS.

Unofficial Updates(Community, Attorneys) of H1B 2026 Lottery Results

Updates from March 31st, 2025

• Today there were very few updates from the community and attorneys. Most of the attorneys said they did not see any new selection notices.
• Some users in community did mention that they were notified by their employers, it is not clear, if the receipt notice had today’s date on them. Mostly, the results were sent and received by them yesterday itself.
• USCIS made the official announcement on their website that they completed the H1B lottery and informed everyone. See above section for the same.

Updates from March 30th, 2025

• Today, there are not many selection notices observed by Attorneys. For instance, Attorney Steven mentioned on his Twitter that he did not see any new notices on Sunday(March 20th), see below screenshot. No new updates on LinkedIn as it is the weekend.
• There are definitely few updates from Users in the community saying that they have received selections. See the below screenshot. It’s not the same volume as other days, but the results are still coming in today as well.
• There are also updates from the H1B Telegram group saying few got selected.
• Also, we have new updates in the H1B Tracker for FY 2026, and users have reported that they are getting notices. See the below screenshot. So there is still hope.

Updates from March 29th, 2025

• Immigration Attorneys continue to report that they are still getting selection notices. USCIS is still sending out notices. In fact, there is a feature they have where they show lottery results that will come in the future date. Attorney Steven has share it on his twitter thread. See below

• As it is a Saturday, there is less activity and no updates from more attorneys.
• Users from the community are reporting that they are getting notified about results from their employers. Below is a screenshot of updates from Reddit from some users indicating that results are coming in over the weekend. We also had some updates on the Telegram Group as well indicating some got results today. So, keep checking with your attorney or employer.

Updates from March 28th, 2025

Updates from Attorneys

• Today, USCIS started to send out email notifications for accounts that have H1B lottery selections. The email is generic and reads, “We have taken an action on your case.” This is similar to last year. You can see the screenshot below by Attorney Emily, who share it on her twitter account.
• Some attorneys are reporting that they are having issues downloading the H1B registration selection notices. Some glitch with the system. See below update from Attorney Steven Brown.
• More attorneys have reported that they have more H1B selection notices in their accounts. See the below screenshots of the same.

Updates from Community of Users

• We have more updates from the community of users saying that some more users are selected. Below are the screenshots of the H1B selections for FY 2026 as reported by users, captured from H1B community in Reddit and Telegram H1B Group.
• But, compared to last year, the volume of selections seems to be low at this time.

Updates from March 27th, 2025.

Overall Update on the H1B 2026 Lottery Results:

• H1B Lottery results are coming in very slowly for the FY 2026 season.
• There are no email notifications from USCIS yet. You will have to manually check by logging in to the USCIS H1B Registration Portal to check the results.
• The filing dates for the H1B Petition are from 4/1/2025 to 6/30/2025, this is based on a real selection notice from FY 2026 season. See below sections for the copy of the same.
• You may expect to get the USCIS email alerts by tomorrow. This happened last year as well.
• Compared to last year(FY 2025), this year, there are far fewer immigration attorneys who posted updates regarding the H1B lottery selections. Maybe this is due to the late evening update and no email alerts.

Updates from Immigration Attorneys:

• Reddy Neuman Brown Law Firm: Attorneys Steven and Emily from Reddy Neuman Brown PC law firm reported that they have received their first few selection notices for the H1B FY 2026 season. Below is a tweet from Attorney Steven indicating the same. They also conducted a live stream on YouTube talking about the results. Attorney Steven also shared a real H1B FY 2026 Registration Selection notice with us, confirming the lottery results. Thanks to him for sharing it with us for the benefit of our community. • Richards and Jurusik Immigration Law: We also have an update from Attorney Jeremey Richards, stating that they received a H1B registration selection notice for the FY 2026 season. He has shared the screenshot of a selection notice as well. See the below screenshot.

Updates from Community Members, Social Media Users

• We have one update from a user in our H1B 2026 Telegram Group saying they were selected, see the below screenshot.

• On Reddit, H1B Community, there were couple of polls, where users updated saying they were selected. You can see about 20 or so were selected as per two of the polls

• No update on the H1B Lottery selection results from the H1B 2026 Tracker on VisaGrader. All the entries that are in the tracker say, they are in submitted status. H1B 2026 Lottery Results Official Updates from USCIS

Below are the official updates from USCIS, either on their web pages, their twitter account, or in the press releases.

Updates as of March 31st, 2025

• USCIS made official announcement on their news alerts page saying that they reached H1B cap for FY 2026.
• They conducted lottery and informed everyone. Only selected applicants can submit H1B petitions with USCIS.

Sample H1B 2026 Registration Selection Notice, Meaning

Many of you are curious about whether the news is real and what the selection notice looks like. In this section, we will share and review the sample H1B 2026 selection notice in detail.

What is the H1B Registration Selection Notice for FY 2026 Season?

The H1B Registration Selection Notice is an I-797C Notice of Action, which is similar to any other like H4 Visa I-797C Receipt Notice.  It would be of Case Type “H-1BR – H1B REGISTRATION”.

What do various fields in the H1B FY 2026 Registration Selection Notice mean?

The H1B Registration Selection Notice for the FY 2026 season is similar to that of the previous FY 2025 H1B Registration Selection Notice. Similar to last year, they do not have the USCIS service center details printed on the registration selection notice as they will use the lockbox service.

Below are the various fields in the H1B Registration Selection Notice from FY 2026 season:

• Beneficiary Confirmation  Number:  It is the long number that is generated when the H1B Registration was submitted by your employer or attorney. It cannot be used to check your registration status on USCIS website. It is only used for Internal tracking and lottery purposes. For FY 2026 season, it starts with 2026 as shown in the below screenshot of the selection notice. It is a 16-digit number with numbers and alphabets.
• Case Type: The Case Type field indicates the case type of the form. In the H1B registration selection notice case, it will be “H-1BR – H1B REGISTRATION”
• Received Date: This date is when your employer or sponsor submitted the H1B registration online in the registration system. For the below sample notice, it is March 21st, 2025, which is the date when the employer submitted the same.
• Priority Date: This will be blank as it is not applicable.
• Prospective Petitioner: This will be the employer name or the company name that is submitting the H1B visa Registration with the intent to file an H1B petition for the applicant if selected in the lottery.
• Notice Date: This is the date when the employer or sponsor was notified regarding the H1B Registration Selection. For the below sample notice, it is March 27th, 2025. It can be anywhere from 3/27/2025 to 3/31/2025 as we can expect to see results coming in until March 31st, 2025.
• Page: You will see 1 of 2 on the first page. There are two pages in the registration notice.
• Beneficiary:  This is the actual H1B Applicant or Employee for whom the H1B visa registration selection notice was generated. Only the H1B petition can be submitted to USCIS for this person.
• Company Name and Mailing Address: Below these fields, you will see a box with Company Name and address of the Company.
• Notice Type: It will say “Registration Selection.” It will be the same on the official copy and the courtesy notice.

Under the boxes, there will be text that has the below information about the company. This is slightly different from the previous years due to online filing options and no service center details on it.

• Company Employer Identification Number, Name: You will see the details saying that “Your Company XXXXX, with an Employer Identification Number XXXXX submitted a registration for XXX ( Date of Birth XXX), for possible selection towards the FY 2026 H-1B Numerical cap projections.”
• Selection confirmation with Beneficiary Confirmation Number: It will clearly state that the beneficiary was selected and state the Beneficiary confirmation number.
• Master or Regular cap: Below this, it would say, what quota the applicant was selected under either Regular cap or masters cap. The sample selection notice below show the applicant selected under the regular cap.
• Filing Dates: It will indicate the filing dates to submit the H1B Petition, which is from 4/1/2025 to 6/30/2025.
• Direct Filing Addresses, Online Filing: In the past they used to have a service center listed on the selection notice, now that is no longer the case, they say to check the USCIS website https://www.uscis.gov/i-129-addresses. They also say you can file the H1B petition online, if you choose to do so.
• Validity of the H1B Registration: It clearly tells the validity of the H1B registration is only for FY 2026 Season and it will only be valid for the company name XXX, applicant’s name XXX with the passport/ travel document number and date of birth of the applicant in it.  It will also tell that you cannot substitute the registration for another or transfer the registration to others.  It will also clearly tell that they may reject the petition if not properly filed.

How to check H1B 2026 Lottery Results? You vs. Employer?

If you are an H1B applicant, whose details were submitted during the FY 2026 registration period, you might be curious to check the H1B Lottery results by yourself. You may want to check the results yourself as an applicant. But, Unfortunately, as an applicant, you cannot check H1B Lottery results online. You should reach out to your employer or attorney to find out the H1B lottery results for your registration.

Below are some of the key points regarding the H1B Lottery results that you need to know:

• The H1B Applicant cannot check H1B Lottery results online by themselves.
• The H1B Applicant or even the Employer cannot use the “Beneficiary Confirmation Number” and check it online, similar to checking USCIS Case Status for H1B petition.
• Only Employers or Attorneys who submitted the H1B Registration can check the status of the H1B Registration Selection.
• Employers/ Attorneys, who submitted the H1B registrations, must login to the USCIS H1B Registration System to check the Lottery results.
• Employers usually will be electronically notified saying a message “We have taken an action on your case” . This is not the selection notice, it is just a message telling them to login to check the results and get the selection notice.
• You, as an H1B applicant, must contact your employer or attorney and ask them to check the H1B Lottery results for the registration submitted on your behalf. They would see a screen like below that shows selected and with the option that says “Download Notice” to get the H1B selection notice as PDF

Timeline for H1B 2026 Lottery Results: How many Days?

• The H1B 2026 registration lottery selection results do not arrive for everyone at once. Even though, it sounds like everything is electronic and everyone should be notified instantly, in the case of H1B lottery results, it does not work that way. This is based on the past history and how they have informed H1B lottery selection results in the last few years.
• Similar to last year, we have not even gotten the email that says there is a change in the status of your case. We may see the alerts tomorrow from USCIS.

• The H1B Visa lottery results come down in batches over a period of a few days. It can take few days for the selection notices to be generated and informed. The deadline is March 31st, 2025 to get all of the notices.
• USCIS will issue a press release and a news alert at the end of the announcement of the H1B lottery results saying that they have informed everyone about the H1B FY 2026 results. Until that official press release, you can continue to wait.

Do not jump to the conclusion that you were not selected before April 1st, 2025. Give it time; sometimes, attorneys take longer to inform. Be patient. Also, it is a pure lottery and has nothing to do with your talent, so accept the results and make decisions for your future.
