  1. Guys people here are talking about who deserve the right to go or stay in US. AD or Reg.

This is bullshit, who deserve to work, go, live or stay in US is the people who really work hard over years and years and make thier self really better than the US citizens in specific work categories. This people who over years have a dream in living and working in one of the best countries in the world, and do all what it needs to achive thier dreams. Doesnt matter from India or any other country (as me) its all about who work harder and did what is takes to achive his dream. You guys is the ones who really deserve it. And pray to God to help you all in that lottery as it is a matter of luck now and it is only in God hands and nothing there to worry about because you did all the right things and in this lottery there is nothing you can do to be better and try again. Wish you all all the best in your lifes you are the ones who really deserve a better life in US or any other place in the world.

I would like to say who what ever AD or Reg who lying and make fake resume to get a H1B visa, or make work arounds to just land in US (and every one in that category really knows them self very well) You are the ones who dont deserve any good thing at all you are just liars and take other people chances. And pray for God to give you what you deserve what ever it is.

My dream that I work so hard over years to achive is working for my dream company and thats it. I reallly dont care if it is in US or any other country as long as this company is the one that I want to work for. And unfortunately after all the hard work i did to get an offer from my beloved company, now who make the decision is just a computer :S but I believe in GOD more than the computer that GOD will give me the best what ever it is because I believe that I did all the right things and did my best to achive my dream and nothing in my hand that I can do to change my luck in the Lottery.

And by the way I am RQ/RP/Cal. And I will never give up tell I achive all my dreams InshaaAllah what ever it is and what ever lotteries stands on my way 😀

God bless you all and wish you all the best.

    • Very nice..keep up this spirit.. I agree with you…US is good but not so good that people should feel obsessed and think its end of their life if they don’t get selected.

There are lot of friends of mine who are relocating back to India from US as you get very good salaries and roles here as well now..and of course the advantage of staying with your loved ones…take care.

Anybody got receipt/approval from “99Runs” consultency?

  8. @Shri and everyone

Whatever you said is absolutely true but don’t lose hope. That’s the last thing you can lose. I came here for my undergrad and spent nearly 160K at Penn State but still haven’t given up. Although, I have been silently monitoring this forum for a while and have witnessed wars that refreshes my memory of those Indian Parliament battles aired on the television, I never really felt the need to have my say maybe until now.

People here mostly talk about how they came here and invested in their Master’s degree and how they now deserve to have H1. No one talks about us! It seems like we don’t even exist! But I guess we are sensible enough not to start such a debate because we know there is no end to it. Lottery definitely smells gross and I believe there should be a testing for H1. If someone wants to work in America for an IT company, there should be an exam to qualify first and not just an IT exam but an exam that will cover every aspect of your day to day job such as socializing etc. More than half of the people on this forum cannot even speak proper English. Moreover, they don’t possess the basic ethics about how to write on public forums. I have worked with so many Indian people who are racists and talk crap about other people even though they don’t realize the importance of a deodorant. Again, I am not saying this applies to everyone but you are the best person to judge yourself.

Now coming back to H1, I think I have stopped thinking about all this because I know it’s not in my hands anymore. I have played my part and you have played yours and likewise everyone did. Everyone tries to come up with a better argument every day without even realizing that the quality of such an argument only degrades minute by minute.

Honestly speaking, I don’t even think that I deserve to have H1 because I know and maybe everyone does that there are people in this world who have done way better things than us. We are just one of those people who smile up front but try to run over someone behind their backs, and the truth is that’s how we reached here.
If we were that smart we wouldn’t need to come here. Our one and only reason to come here is the differential in the exchange rate – at least for most of the people. Today, I wouldn’t feel ashamed to admit that as well, but over a period of time, I believe I became a better person and today my reason to stay here is not the same. I want to stay here because I have ties with this country and trust me I am not one of those who lied to the visa officer. I told him then and there that I have plans to work in US and he still approved my visa. My girlfriend, career, tangibles, intangibles all are here which makes it even harder to chew the fact that I might have run out of my luck at least for this lottery. The funniest part is that I am in this situation because I chose to speak truth else my H1 would have been done last year.

I understand that I might not be selected in the lottery but that is not going to stop me from achieving my dreams. I will just take this as yet another barrier in my life which I have to cross. No one can steal your dreams if you believe in yourself. Remember, we all are destined to great things! This is just a phase of life which will pass on and one day you will be sharing this event with your friends over a drink.

I encourage you all again not to lose hope and never give up. In fact, this world is nothing but a hope. We have no idea what’s going to happen next second and that is what makes this life interesting. Life always puts something on our plates like our manager do lol. Good night friends and stop thinking too much. Play PS3, go to the bars or watch a movie – just make sure you live every moment. We will either find a way or make one.

    • You know brother, I was about to write up something similar last night but passed as I thought nobody would care.

I completely agree with you and believe me; I am in the same situation. I did my undergrad from Princeton. People here don’t understand that we shouldn’t be fighting over this. Truth is, when they applied for F1 to come and do their masters here, they lied about not staying in US and working afterwords. They lie on their resumes, they lie about their experience. Believe me , I have seen contractors hired in my company and just by looking at their resumes, We know they are full of it. How is it possible for someone to have 7-8 years of experience but doesn’t know how to order a pizza or get a lease on their own.

Anyways, let’s unite people, we have to have hope. World doesn’t end here, but at least have fu**ing courtesy of considering other people when you criticise.

      Good night..

      • @Priy
I am not trying to be judgmental out here but being a Princeton graduate you should not take pot shots at fellow countrymen. Everyone has his/her own story. I am a recent graduate from Cornell and have tremendous amount of respect for my counterparts from Princeton. You are too good to went out your frustration on others. Just my two cents.

        • @Jim, Agreed brother…

I just wanted to confront people who bullshit about Regular quota guys. It’s just unfair. We are all in this together and we should act like one. Good to see some sense in the debate here.

      • @Priy

You raised a very important concern about resumes. I don’t disagree with that but I think we can have a night long conversation on that. I truly never knew anything about it until I heard some golden words from my own manager at Fortune 10 company.

Yes, there are people who don’t even know how to order a pizza online and are making web applications. But the tragedy of our life is that no matter how much we hate them, we still need idiots like them. Welcome to Corporate America!

    • Very nice..an glad to know that you are keeping yourself away from the fears and anxieties. I also want to tell you that you will find a better life in India as well..as soon as you stop comparing US and India, as it is like comparing apples and oranges. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

I would also like to share that lot of friends and colleagues of mine have moved back to India after spending 8-10 years in US and they are doing pretty well..end of the day its our own motherland..and dare we speak bad or demean our mother….she will be happy to see you prosper in US but she will also be happy to see you come back..and if possible help her with improving things around..using your good experiences and knowledge gained in US..

    • @Benn–
Seriously, did you invest $160K to get your under-grad degree from Penn State????

I do agree to all the points and wish you all the best. As for me, I am in the same position, finished under-grad, currently working at fortune 500 company, OPT expiring in August 2013 (17 mnth ext)– but, if i had that much money, i would’ve stayed back 🙂

    • Sunny,

  9. Just heard from my lawyer that my check got encashed, is that a positive sign? I asked my DSO last thursday (4/18), and there was no change in my SEVIS. Thoughts on this? (RP/RQ/VSC)

    • @F1noopt
Check cashed is sign that your receipt come in mail in this coming week…
But your employer should make sure check which is cashed was paid for you and not for any other employee …. if employer is sure check is paid for you than you can relax your receipt on its way…. you will get good news soon……… SEVIS record does not change that fast ….

      • @nick, thanks. At least i can relax for a bit now… Next step… Approval. Still a long way to go! 🙂

          i understand your concern….

          • Hi Sweetie,

Did you check with your employer when they received the mail? Just to get an idea on the no. of days it took the mail to reach your employer from 18th, btw where is your employer/attorney located?

  12. Seems like there are no Adv. Degree/ premium processing/ vsc cases.

I lost my career and everything.
I don’t know what to do.

India killed me with reservation, U.S killed me with lottery.

    No offense.

Just gonna losse my job by July.

To stay in U.S, go to school.

No money to pay the schooling.

Go back to India, no job!
No bank balance, no assets, no family background.

    Completely lost due to this.

I’m sorry to my parents and family.

    • @Shri: I know how you must be feeling right now as I’m on the same boat with you. Don’t loose hope friend till you receive your package back. Once someone told me about US that it is a black hole, once you are in here then there are ‘N’ number of ways you can stay here. Just talk to your lawyer or any experienced person and surely you will find your way. You can also try for jobs in Canada. Just be patience and don’t loose hope. All the best!

      • @hopeful!

I work fulltime. I’m an employee of some big company.

        Non-IT.

I don’t have any other hope.

I don’t know what to do now.

        I’m completely lost.

My HR will not allow this kind of situations.

My company will not allow me to work now.
My job is very specialized and dont have any position in India.

I dont know whether they gonna keep me in the company as I am the junior and less experienced in the team.

Seems like, the game is over.

        • @Shri: i dont know what kind of work you do or in which field you are specialized but if plan ‘A’ didnt work then there has to be plan ‘B’. May be at this time you cannot see it but if you try looking for options you will definetly find it.
Believe me you are not the only one in this situation there are many more like you. the key here is think positive, try looking for different options you can avail in US or anywhere else in the world.
you said sorry to your family back in India you don’t need to atleast if you are wiling to fight back and try your best in the given scenario. Take this just as a new challenge on your life and face it with all your strength.

Best way is to start looking for available options here is to start some discussions with candidates who are in same situation as you and see what options you can explore. you have a problem infront of you don’t concentrate on it instead concentrate on finding solutions and i believe you will find one soon. All the best dude.

    • Hello Shri,

Please don’t hurt your confidence at any point of time, I know this is not something you don’t know and at the same time don’t think that i am trying to bla…bla. I have been in a very difficult situation, at least you have a job. I was on OPT with no contracts on hand and with denied H1. I know how it feels about going to Masters again with all the financial crisis we are already in.

But please remember Jobs in US, in India or for that matter any where in the world is a gamble and it is not easy . Coming to the point of studying again, please remember that 75% of all american students fund themselves and i know many of my friends in early 35 years doing jobs and paying their college bills still. No support from the family in any means. This is the survival of the fittest kind of world.

I agree with you on the job market and situation in India, but if you have to succeed, stay ON my friend, never believe on any thing that can hinder your confidence. Trust in your self, Its as simple as this . Sustain your Positive energy in perusing Masters or finding a job in India. We are in US, so called land of opportunities. It is just the right channels we have to find. I can help for any resources you want.

It is not something i wanted to tell you, i might be younger than you. But i just wanted to remind you that we have some X-factor. Think of our fellow forum members who are desperate to touch this US soil. Please keep the hopes high and faith in God.

      • Hi ASR,

I have lot of responsibilities in my life. Its not that
easy to loose the established career. No matter if it
is U.S or some other country. We are Indians.
We need to support our family. I’m from a very poor family though
our govt thought its a rich community.

I’m successful in my life until now.

Lots of hurdles being a rich community and poor family.
I lost my father at the age of 5.

I’m the elder one and a sister and a brother.

Need to take care of the family. This is really hurting.

No one will understand this until I was really good.

Now, no one can do anything.

I feel verymuch sad about this..

Sorry to share this in a blog what I never thought will happen:(

        • Shri – Never lose hope..I am sure you will get a good job in India as the market here is bustling with jobs and especially for someone smart and hard working like you with an MS degree, you are welcome.

Send me your resume for a job in India, if you don’t get selected in this foolish H1 B lottery process.

I want you to come out stronger and not as a coward…take care

        • Is that if h1 is not their …everything is lost… ???

I think you are more bothered abt ur life in USA then anything else ehat ever you mentioned

    • Its not over until its really over! Even if you don’t get through the lottery, life might just have something even better for you. You might have tough days ahead, but trust me you will value what this period teaches you. YOU WILL COME OUT OF THIS STRONGER!

      • Thank you big boss and others who supported me.

I don’t know who you are.

        This is just a blog.

I don’t know where to express my feelings.
All my frnds, theyvgot the receipt except 3.

No one will listen to my inner feelings.

The blog can listen to them, I believe.
But all are from consulting firms and fighting
        for the job in U.S.
guys, please relize that you already have jobs.
Seriously, It really doesn’t makes any difference
If you get H1 approval or not. Lot of Masters students who are
Working in a conculting fir don’t have jobs.

Don’t think that they studied in U.S. just think about the humanity.

We choose this. I’m not from IT. Though I’m the victim
        of lottery.

H1 is meant for specialized workers in U.S. where
the U.S based companies won’t find the right person
to do the job. Don’t think that you are working hard.
And don’t forget that that you are working for the
        U.S based project.
        Don’t forget the fact that,
This is not that something you’ve achieved.

This is something that youre a cheap labour.

I’m not from IT. But I feel that who ever studied
Masters in US would feel the same.

        • The way you are presenting yourself in this forum makes me wonder what specialized knowledge you have!!!
if US wanted AD people more than so called cheap labor like us then definetly it would not have put limit of just 20000 in quota it would have been ‘N’ number.
Why you think those who are working with a consultant have already a job, there are so many here who are on H4 and cannot work inspite of having real good experience in their home country.
And why we talk about humanity where everything is decided based on lottery what are you expecting someone should come to you and ask I am ready to transfer my H1 over to you as you have some personal problem?

I understand that you are under stress at this time but instead of cursing other people utilize your time and energy in thinking some other options for youself..all the best!!

          • Ha ha…! You got the right point. That is really true.

            Read the H1 criterion fronUSCIS.
This is only for specialized workers from abroad
where the U.S employers cannot be able to find
            the right person.

It seems like you are also fron sone consulting firm.

Forget about money and think about the exact meaning of H1.

Even U.S immigration system has never gone thru
this. They never thought that the consulting firms
would fill up the H1 quota. “Especially Indian Consulting”.

            No big deal.

            Why you need H4?

Lot of F1 students are suffering here just because if these consulting firms.

I saw this in our IT department.
I just asked them, why you need consultants.

They just answered, they work for cheap.
            I was surprised.

            Why you need 2 jobs?
You are just trying the luck.

Just, put your hand on the heart and ask or justify yourself.

          • @Shri,you are right I am from one of such firms.

If that is the case then why UCSIS is granting visa to consultants? do you think they are not doing their homework well or they need to be shown the meaning of H1 visa or some flaw is there in process?

And why should i forget about money when you are not ready to accept the fact that everyone has a right to try his luck with whatever means he gets, you are no one to point fingers at anyone because you didnt get selected in some lottery.

Why you say F1 people are suffering? when they got F1 visa they came here to study now if they dream of doing a job also here then that dosnt mean regular people will give up their dreams?

it is time for you to put your hand on your heart and realize what you are saying!

          • Only thing that you shitty IT consulting fellows bring the US is cheap labor and work here for few years and take the money go back to india with our fake accent!
In case of people who do Master’s and PhD’s in US, we learn here much more than you. What we learn is definitely more advanced than what you stupid fellas learn in India. I have done my PhD from a top university in US. I have had research projects funded by NASA and other research institutions. After graduation, I have a stable job in US where my Company which values what I have learnt and where I am able to contribute. I get paid much more than my American colleagues.

Why the F#@( do i have to compete in a lottery with you shitty people who don’t bring any value to US other than CHEAP LABOR.

          • Good point.

            Let me tell you this.

Why you are supporting others if you are a masters student here?

Our company outsource the IT . This is just because of cheap labor.

Not because of highly talented skilled workers.

            Please understand the fact.

I’m not against the people who are applying H1 fromthe consulting firm.

Just think about the people who are on F1 and didn’t
            Get their approval for H1.

This time, it is just happened because of consulting firms.

            Guys, I’m not blaming you.

But please get into the reality and think of everyone.

The people who studied in U.S, they are completely relied here.

You already have jobs. You are well settled.
Yiu need extra money. For that, Its U.S.

Tell me who are rigorously trying for their career?
Forget about the money if it is masters or regular quota.

Thats all I want to say.

Everyone who are fighting with me from regular cap are
            worried about money.

            Din’t worry. You’ll get it.
But don’t fight against the masters students.

      • Hi VS,

I don’t have any hope. My HR, never work
on the weekends in big companies, checked email
And from other sources. No luck at all.
I don’t knoelw where did I do mistake, at all!

I don’t even know what went wrong. I can’t even convince
myself. Coz, I’m a specialized engineer.

I will not find find a job in India. That’s for sure.

Heavy competition. I was looking at this blog and
Lot of h1 regular candidates are fighting with the advanced
Degree people. You already have jobs and an established career.

You are working in IT. Why you are fighting with someone whi has Masters degree.
Going to masters is not about whether your parents are wll enough
to support the masters in U.S.
its not that easy. You will come to know when the dollar becomes 20
        by INR.

Guys, lets make the statement true.
        Live and let live!

Without the consulting companies, the life in U.S
        would have made easier.

Lot of people who applied in RQ will think that why we
Don’t deserve the life in U.S.

        Honestly, they don’t deserve it.
I studied here and I deserve to do something to this
        Country.

You are working to the projects which are being less privileged inU.S.

Which is high privileged, we don’t give access.

        I’m the live example:

Soneone in the blog wrote, we have lot of aspirations.

Yes, you do. Think about the family, country, and then the aspirations.

Don’t forget that you are in consulting firm which is only
working for money and not for your future.

I don’t understand whay kind of future you are looking at.

        Money?

        Sorry if it hurts someone.

        • @Shri:
If you are saying you have come to US just to fulfill your aspirations and not for money then I dont agree with you.
May I ask you what you are aspiring that cannot be achieved in India?
You want serve this country why don’t you want to serve your motherland? What have you studied here that cannot be taught in India?
I think it is a time to get realistic we all come here to make money so that we can lead better life.
One way in coming to US to study and other way is what these consulting companies are providing, just the paths are different motives are same!

          • @H1_B

            Great reply buddy….

Guys who need psychiatric help, please check appropriate forums…. let us just focus on the H1b receipts status…….

Let us not start a intellectual debate of who deserves the visas…. there is enough stress already to wait for the receipt number….

          • Haha….!
This is not the regular question.

            Let me answer this.
I know you are an employee from IT firm.

            No worries.

I’m not the big aspirant nor the onwle who serves his
            country.

I’m just a common person. Let me tell you this.
            If I would’ve got a job in India, I woukd’ve never thought
of other country or stupid work permit.

I cleared lot of tests. GRE, TOEFL likewise the others
            here.

I just raised word who are worried about their H1, applied from foreign,
which is other than U.S and
Who raised a word against F1 people.

            Isn’t it hillarious?

The people who studied here, why they need to go away?

Why the people applying from outside U.S needs it?

            Lets come to a conclusion.

What yiu are doing to this country?
Lets talk about “why or who are needs to do sonething”.

Then why do you need visa or GC or cotizenship?

            Lets make the point clear.

Lot f people are saying that the consulting firms are capturing the Visa
slots. Its okay. You are getting thru it. I’m not wirried about that. Why you are
justifying yourself against the MS people?

          • @Shri:
It is not Non AD people justifying but AD people like you are definitely raising lot of questions regarding your eligibility to work in US.

Simply because you have studied here doesn’t not mean no one else can come and work in US, its all based on fate like this one today decided by lottery. If you are not selected in lottery that means that you are not meant to be in US and if some cheap consultant is getting it that means he is meant to be here.
Everyone wants chance to earn good money and have good life so why cant people from outside can try for this? why you came here to study at the first place to earn right so if someone else wants to earn what is wrong with that?
Do you think just having a job in home country should devoid anyone from coming to US or that person should be more eligible as he bringing more experience of different work environment with him that can actually benefit US?

          • Amidst all this, you manage to fake a smile. Good on ya’

            So you say two things:

            1) You didn’t get a job in India: Which means you are undeserving and unqualified in India.

            2) You cleared GRE & TOEFL: Wow, what an achievement, dear. A 16-yr old kid in India can crack these tests. Did you dare to try the JEE or CAT when you were in India? Oh, wait! You can’t – cuz that takes some intelligence.

Boss, WHO are you to decide that people applying from US don’t deserve a visa? If that was the case, USCIS would never had opened applications for people from abroad. Are you saying you will decide US immigration policy and not USCIS? Laughable! Yes, this is hilarious

          • I don’t know why everyone is getting so personal here .Life is not fair ..and we all know this …AD/RP/CSC

I completed my masters here in computer engineering ..and I work in IT sector (I like it ). So when we talk about being against IT that’s wrong. Yes i lost my previous job because my IT department was outsourced to Indian firm (Was i pissed –Yes i was ). But there is nothing much we can do.

I feel now H1 visa is like a permit to hire cheap labor …which is sad because it was suppose to bring quality not quantity

        • @Siri – Let me tell you this: Your posts have really brought some tears till the point when you said RQ people don’t “deserve” a life in US.

This may be little caustic, but pls bear with me here.

This statement of yours really proves what you as an individual are. Having faced problems in family etc. so far in your career, it is pathetic that you don’t understand that others could have similar problems too.

Who are you to decide what is “high-privileged” and what is not?

You deserve to do something for this country. True, which is why AD people have 2 chances at the lottery. But pls understand that others deserve similarly to earn for themselves, their family or for their country (India).

I think your statement about who deserves what makes you undeserving to remain as a human in this land of dreams for millions of people.

Pls get a life and get well soon.

And yeah, you cry of reservation issues back in India. Face it, they exist and lakhs of people similar to you (poor economic background, but upper caste) are still making a life out there much better than yours here. You weren’t able to make a cut there which is why you came here. Stop finding reasons for you not making it and move on.

          • Good Mr wake up.

This clearly means, you are only working for your family and you are also
            working for a consulting firm.

I didn’t even read your complete story.

Just 10 lines made me think about you.

            I completely agree with you.

            I’m not talking about you.

I’m talking on behalf of about some one who spoke againstthe F1
            Students.

            Don’t worry.

I’m the well wisher of every one.

You have a job in sone country. I’m pretty sure.

Don’t tell me that you din’t have a job in India.
If it is the case, I can’t comment.:)

I saw people suffering here and complaining about the consulting firms
who are spoiling the chances of the peopl3″e who studied here.

            Don’t worry.

If you have a job, din’t really worry about the H1 this year.

You will get it next year. You can jump thru your company
and you can make GC and you can make good money.

Don’t worry. You are in IT.

I’m pretty sure, you can never compete with me. Coz, I’m not in It.

            Thank god!

          • Lets not get to comparing both of us, because you’ll stand no chance – IT or Non-IT. Basically as a human, I’m sure you will fail.

You want to run away and don’t dare to reply to my questions in my previous post – which is why you are saying that you haven’t even read my entire post. HA-HA

You have no solid arguments, do you? Just plain gas? Is that the industry you work in?

          • Let me ask you this as a human.

            I need 10Million in USD.

Please transfer it to my account.

I’m not saying that I need it for free.

I will give you the APR.

            Thx.

          • Good job.

I appreciate your english language skills.

Just testify or justify what H1 is for.
Don’t think about money, honey, career or family.

I came here for my career. Honestly.

If I would’ve tried in some consulting firm in India, I’m pretty sure
            I would’ve gone thru that.

I’m not in IT now. Think about yourselves.

            Why do you need U.S.

Build yiur own career in India.

          • And more over,

            Let me confirm this.

            I’m a masters degree holder.

But never worked for a consulting firm or does
            worked for an IT firm.

Guys wake up. This is the time.

Why India is purchasing the technology other ciuntries?

We have lot of work forcr.

            Forget about the foreign countries.

Think about India. Think about your country.
Think about you and you future and the future generations.

Why purchase from Israel or Russia.

            Forget about H1.
Try to build Your own career.

The people who ever criticized me here, and who are
willing to join me, raise hands.

This will confirm that whether you are willing
to work for H1, for your family, for your country, for your career. Or for your country.

          • Shri.. by ur name i guess you are an Indian. Then why you are calling india as your country… Its yours too.. why dont u go and search good job in other countries or even in india if you are highly talented.. clearing GRE and TOFEL is nt a big deal, and you are paying hell a lot of money for your masters, May be you are a genius, but people have a million dollar can do MS in US, Doing masters in USA don’t make a person highly skilled, i know people are simply doing that for namesake. What do you mean by career?
joining a job after masters? thats really shit. that you could have achieve in india itself. why didn you tried IIT or IISC? they don deserve for your masters degree or u didn get it?
career means what you achieve in life, and not joining in a company, which pay for your work.. suppose u got a offer in a NGO which gives u a nice place for learning without salary. will you work there? no..you wont.. don say that you are there for career.!! you are also looking for money .. and i too..

            get a life..

        • Hi Shri,

Who the fuck told you to study in US? I am sorry for using this language but morons like you have forced me to use this language. What did you tell in your F1 interview that I will return back to my country. Then why are you crying now.

I am in India and earning a decent 20L per anumn with around 6 years expirience and I am just an average joe. A simple engineering college from india, no fashionable degree or anything like that. so if you can’t find a job in India it is your in capability than anything else.

I have worked hard enough to get myself a good job in California for around 150k. Why do you think I don’t deserve to get this job. You already got two chances in the lottery, so that makes up for everything.

I didn’t have enough money to study in the US. I had other commitments at that time.

I guess everybody has an equal right for the h1b. You me and every other person who has applied for it. So now shut the fuck up and make yourself more capable so that you get a better job wherever you go rather then whining here.

          • Mr. Crap,

            You are really a crap.

Mind your language and your words.
I can speak better english than you and worst english than you as well.

I’m just trying to justify someone(not all) who are criticizing AD people.

Wake up and come out of this(crap).

          • If you are not full of crap and have the balls, you would really answer my questions.

You need 10 million USD, you need to earn it. Just like a visa. Roaming around with a begging bowl always may not be the solution for you.

          • @Sri.. You need doctor then Visa /Job… Are you sick.. just wait and watch rather then crying …

Shut your crappy mouth.. OFF … You nuts only think about ur stay /life in USA then bull shut whatever you are talking …

            Better be Brave Indian ..

          • As your name suggests you are a piece of Crap.

If you are so happy and content with your so called 20 lkhs job in India why the hell do you even look for options outside and stop showing off this “$150K” job in California.

No matter how much you earn or save, the fact is you will remain what you are. You will always share your room, toilet, meal with someone to save bucks and try to live of others as much as you can. People like you will always project bad image of India (I am not even an India). I know lot of guys who are working in good companies in USA and are shipped from SE Asian countries (mostly Indians though). At the same time I know Indians who have educated from top US universities and they project a very fair and true image of India (regardless of what you feel)

There is nothing wrong in AD graduates getting more upset with the lottery system. You know better on what basis most (98%) Indian get H1B visa- not talent but agreeing to work double at 1/3rd pay. And this was never the intend of H1B visa. Most (5%) ADs get good salaries in US and they work on their criteria and work enough to get job done rather than as donkeys. This was the core intend of H1B visa.

Bring on the war Mr. Crap.

          • @aabb, Shri, what I am saying is that I have an equal right to work in the US just like you. If you have struggled hard to get a job in the US, so have I or any other person who has applied for H1b.

About the salary part, I do respect my country. What I was trying to say is that there are good jobs in India. So crying that RQ don’t deserve a visa is crap. USCIS has created a policy. Respect it. Rather that winning about it. If you read my statement carefully what I was saying is that India has enough opportunities and If you do not get a job there it is more because of your In capability rather than the country’s fault.

You guys knew the policy before leaving for the US, you always knew there is a risk of not getting H1b. You made an informed decision at that time i guess. If you were not aware if te rules, then you only have yourself to blame Why blame the system now. If you want to blame it, do it. But you have no right to say that a Regular Quota guy doesn’t deserve a job.

i don’t want to fight with anyone because I also know that just like me, you guys are also in the same boat. Also fighting here will not make any difference to anything.

          • I agree with Crap.

Shri it can’t come as a surprise to you that you are not guaranteed to stay. You knew about this when you came here to study.
Now you think you deserve more than others to stay here.

          • You idiot, like you we donot have to find jobs- companies floor us to work for them so get the facts right…….

For that matter all my mates had multiple offers from companies, which you can not even think of working.

The argument is not about finding job, the issue is not letting us work because some lottery systems.

This again shows that you morons donot have critical reasoning skills- arguing over something which is not even an issue. Go and learn some reasoning skills before you start your so called “$150K job” else they will slap your ass real bad!

And before you make another argument that I am “J” about your salary, let me clarify for you that I have a full time offer of $175K +35K sign on and ~ 25% year end bonus…..

          • @aabb

A big yawnnn looking at your salary. It doesn’t seem to match YOUR reasoning skills though? Do they pay so much to you, just because you are from some dumpster of a country or is it really about YOU?

What makes you think AD people deserve a visa more (they have 2X chances already) compared to a RQ person?

          • money money money………….janitors get paid more buddy, so apply “w” visa…..might come in handy…

Its not about serving its all about keeping a country as it is rather than making it a refugee center…

You look at stats from India and you will realize that Indians who have made name for themselves in USA are mostly trained from US universities. Its because of those people you get any kind of work here so respect them.

And regarding fee, yes we have paid fee but remember half of the fellowship comes from University itself….

Regardless, if you get visa remember to project a right image of your country and not live on company for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Be good and live nicely….if you have the guts to take one message

@ Mr. Wakeup- I know you will yawnn becuase you have gone dreaming after looking at this salary. I know its hard for you to imagine this kind of salary but for the graduates of top 5 MBA programs in USA, this is norm.

Finally why become a cry baby when you yourself start abusive comments on public forums. You always think that you can get away with talking shit like you have always been…in your face:-

          • @aabb
Firstly, I don’t have to apply for a W visa or any other visa, because I know I’ll get the visa I want. And spending 80k for a degree and bragging about a 175k salary? They haven’t taught you RoI have they? Or were you napping when it was taught?

Now that’s aside, what stats are you talking about and why? Is our argument about which section of Indians have made a name in the US? I guess, not. You think AD people deserve a visa more than RQ and I’m saying they don’t. Anyway, I get respect in the US because of what I am and not because of people already settled here. Plain and simple.

And oh boy, I don’t need no lessons in behavior and image. I’m well-bred back in my country and I kinda think you are not.

Oh yeah, I’m crying. Uahhh! Go back and check who started this. It was you and your stomach burn looking at others getting a visa. Now if you can do something about it, go talk to USCIS. Or better ask your “western world” country to speak to Obama and issue a special M category visa for Morons such as you.

          • @WakeUp, I like your option. If ever there is a need I will sign the petition for M Category visa for Morons like aabb. :). After a long time I could laugh a bit.

          • @aabb Just pray that you get through this year’s lottery and if you don’t then pray like anything that the new immigration bill does not get approved. Because under the new bill the AD cap will be only for people with US degrees in STEM subjects.

          • Crap, were you busy trying to find your would be “roommate” and checking with your companies if they will let you have dinner of the staff’s pantry budget.

            Atleast someone made you laugh.

@wakeup- that was the only purpose of me mention about salary because that is the only thing what matters to you. The numeric ROI does not take into account various factors…..oh sorry, I forgot you donot know anything but money so why waste my words here…

and finally you get paid $X/2 because you work 3Y hours so I agree on this point that you get paid what you do (or worth)….

          • @aabb are you serious. Have you ever got your IQ checked. I guess you might get a negative IQ. Try it, you just might create a record and get famous. Don’t worry about my room mates or my dinner bill. I earn enough to lead a luxurious life. Better worry about yourself. If you don’t get the visa you might have to apply for the W Visa. Oh, i forgot you are from a developed country so you are lobbying for a M Category visa right.

            Loosers.

          • lol….average school from India Vs top 5 MBA school in the world…IQ

Can you make a sense? lol…

I gave up finally….thanks for enlightening more

          • @aabb

Thanks for giving up. That’s what losers like you would do eventually. Now go home and be content with your Top-5 MBA school degree. Oh, and don’t forget to pack that huge debt too. Or wait, have they just waived that off for you looking at your brilliant IQ?

          • Oh boy, what stomach burn you guys are having! First you have 2 shots at the lottery and if you still can’t make it, blame on the RQ guys/Indians.

This is nothing but SORE LOSER talk.

WHO are you to decide what Mr. Crap wants to do? If he has a 20L job in India, he is an achiever so he earned something better. Unlike you who can just sit and blame others for your sorry a** misfortune.

Let Mr. Crap share his room, toilet etc. – who cares. But with no job, no visa you might just end up cleaning his toilets.

          • Buddy, US govt. has introduced “W” visa for people like you who are desperate to stay in US despite what you earn back home….

As far as I go, for your kind info being a citizen of western world, I donot even need H1B visa to stay and work in USA…..

          • @aabb, Look, who is more desperate to get a visa you or me. You seem to be sore loosers. If you don’t want this job so desperately, why come and cry here. Go back to whichever country you want and leave US.
It seems your reasoning is screwed up. First just answer a few questions
“Who promised you that you will get a work visa after doing whichever degree you did”
Have the immigration laws changed since the last time you applied for your students visa.
Then why cry. You have already got 2 chances at the lottery. Respect the immigration policy. Else keep barking. Anyways I know that your barking here will make no difference to my life.

          • @aabb
Grow some balls on, can you? I’m not desperate, just because you have nothing up your brain to make a valid argument, you indulge in meaningless banter

Citizen of western world? Again, who cares which dumpster you hail from. You can keep yourself and the dumpster tightly shut – USA can do without muck like you

          • @wakeUp,
Let aabb write whatever he feels like, he anyways can’t change the way the visa works. I guess he is just purely frustrated that he has spent a lot of money on his degree and now he has to compete with us.
What I find funny is the reasoning ppl give. I want to serve the USA. I want to be a messiah for the entire world. I think it my birth right to live and work in the US just because I did my MS there, All other ppl are loosens and they have no right to even enter US.
Best of luck to you though for your Visa. Do post once you get your visa.

    • Hello

I am same like you waiting for Regular/NON PP . I am specialized worker too . I tried my job on my own I applied for 80 different companies and got 2 interviews in the month of feb 2013 . I spent my all money for flight and hotel attended interviews and I stayed there for 15 days to look other companies too. finally I got a job and I was happy that time and I was very exited . BU t now after this lottery I lost my hope and lost everything because of the coolie IT peoples they took all the H1B s . Indian coolie IT companies sending the bunch of shitty coolies to usa who are not specialized in their field just going there to enjoy and getting money then coming back to india.
this is not at all fair for us .they killed us .
      USA should stop this !
all IT companies are from INDIA its not a parent companies from USA .

Likes us who have applied for single visa from single company the petition should not put in lottery !

IF uscis want to do lottery they should do that for all the IT coolies who applied for 2 digit, 3 digit and xxxxxxxx coolies . they should not put 1 digit petitions on the lottery ..
this is killing us . what we do ? why this is happening for the peoples who is struggling in their life ? I m exactly like your case .

I don’t know about my case yet but I lost hope.

      • Yeah, crying overs others fortune wouldn’t help your case either. So, shut your coolie talk and go do something useful. LOSER!

        • Buddy, US govt. has introduced “W” visa for people like you who are desperate to stay in US despite what you earn back home….

As far as I go, for your kind info being a citizen of western world, I donot even need H1B visa to stay and work in USA…..

      • Sometimes I really feel very sad readin this forum. Everybody is crying, whinning. Why does everybody think that “HE/she is the only eligible candidate for getting the work permit”

The AD have problem with the RQ guys getting a visa.
The Non IT guys have problem with the IT guys getting a visa.
Some people have problem with Indian getting a visa.
The Americans have problem with the visa plan alltogethe.

All of us are fighting like kids. Taking names. Abusing each other. Some people show what hardships they have gone through.

If a Indian who works for the likes of Infy, TCS etc get an opportunity to work in the US. What’s the harm. Why does anyone think that he is less deserving than you.

And finally what do you gain by fighting here, will USICS look at the post and suddenly decide to change their policy. There is a huge lobby group in the US who will fight for their profits. Everyone here wants to make his life more beautiful and I believe everyone has that right to do it.

If you still want to fight, cry, whine nobody can stop you and nobody will. Everybody has a opinion and frankly no one is wrong. If you really think your opinion is good, make it count rather than showcasing it here.

        • If we talk about who deserves and who does not there plenty of amazingly talented people who can make wonders and not even trying for such visas. They create world class standards but see others apply them and make boatload of money.

Having said that, it is truly unfair what is happening to AD holders with indian IT companies grabbing the lion share through the loopholes in law. But that will change soon and for good.

USCIS is right in reserving the extra 20k visas to AD holders and it may be the correct number. Let’s face it, we knew the risks involved before proceeding with MS/MBA and got no luck. IMHO to be american is to have a proud fighting spirit and achieve the impossible. If AD holders deserve to stay they will fight for it with plenty of options at hand.

To get back on the time and investment there are other countries like Australia, Germany, Canada who pay nearly as good and are more open. I know guys who have done MBA in Har****, returned to India, started company and made headlines all over the world. They are more successful and happy than they may have been in US.

To be honest I am in RQ, never worked for an Indian IT company and a US company I have not worked for before is trying to hire me in US. Frankly I don’t care what happens because I know I can be successful anywhere.

Life by design wasn’t meant to be cakewalk. Let’s face it, not whine about it.

          • Totally agree with you.
            Really Like you last statement
“Life by design wasn’t meant to be cakewalk. Let’s face it, not whine about it.”

Put it on facebook, you might get a million likes 🙂

  13. Hi Guys ,
Pls help. Can u please guide me if my employer is located in Miami..and i am in dallas, where will be my application filed..I am RQ/RP….damn…. TENSED!!! My last Name starts with A and i have still no info of my receipt no.

  14. I believe it is time for the Regular quota, regular processing receipts to be dispatched. They should positively reach the employers by snail mail before 30th of April. I am also one among the 100000 waiting for the same. However, I just wanted to clarify a couple of points:
    * Most of the people waiting for their receipts are from some of the big MNCs. Although these people receive the petition receipts, they take considerable time to update the status in their internal portals. For ex: My company has a solid immigration application which updates each stage of the petition process. There is no reason to panic when you see people here updating that they have got their receipts.
    * Also, I missed the H1B deadline last year and was rejected a L1B in Dec. This year, I put my best efforts and ensured that the package was sent on 1st of April itself. However, it still resulted in a lottery. And now, I have already thought of a plan B option and I encourage everyone to have one ready. There is no reason to panic as the lottery has already completed. I am not spreading any negativity here, but then, it is always good to be prepared for the worst. Anything else other than that is a bonus 🙂

Stay positive! BTW, I read somewhere that everyone who ‘deserves’ H1B will get through the lottery. That is nothing but BULLSHIT. After all, it is a random selection and the system doesn’t know who is a deserving candidate. Remember, everything in life happens for a purpose and for our own good! 🙂

    • Well said and truely inspiring. Though i dont have plan b if i dont get h1b.. You made me to think about that..

    • Well said @H1Bpositive
I also in same like your situation.Missed last year CAP, L1 rejected and this time it was in lottery.
I have also perpared plan ‘B’.
Every one has to think, H1 is not end of life.
We can have plenty of apportunities.
If plan ‘A’ fails we need to prepare for plan ‘B’.
      Life has to move on…

  15. I am in regular /PP VSC. Is there still any hope to receive the receipt? Is there someone who got their packet back?

    • @ AJ

I am also RQ/PP/VSC. My employer said I am not in. He said to wait unitl May end because packet return gonna take more time.

        • @ Dinesh
Mentioned most of whom they applied got receipts, so he believe I am not in and requested to wait until they receive package

      • It is really very much frustrating to wait for this. If sending receipts is taking a long time, I think the best and easy thing would be to return back the packets unopened. It doesn’t even take any time to do this.
I think if they use some sort of waiting list thing, then it is more difficult to find a process of how and which applicant can replace the rejected ones.
Since I am in PP , I just want this thing to get over soon and hear I am rejected rather than waiting on something which is kind of non sense. It is also better to think of other options, if we know the result ( whatever it may be)

    • AJ

its just been 5 days since the regular quota people started receiving receipts. I think we need to wait at least till may 1st week to be a little sure that we have not been selected. According to the daily count for number of receipts generated it will take atleast end of this month to finish processing the receipts. Giving a week additional for snail mail I think 8-10th may would be an optimum date to come to any kinda conclusion, though you cant be 100% sure until the package is returned. From other people in this forum it takes anywhere from 3-6 days for the snail mail/employer delay for us to know. So lets wait and see.. We all are in the same boat. Also as a proof to my logic is that if we loose hope now then I am not sure whose receipts are been generated each day (4k+) since this monday. So the receipts generated on thursday and friday this week hasn’t even reached anyone yet. Also whose receipts are been generated next week each day(4k+)..By the end of april there is going to be around 30K-35K recipts being generated combined in both centers. I mean where are these people. I am hoping they are us who are waiting anxiously. It can be us.. don’t you agree..

      I am AD/RP/VSC.. but i speak for both AD/RD who are waiting…

  16. The last CSC receipt is WAC1313951402, which means about 1400 receipts have been generated today (most of them appear to be RP receipts). It looks like the Saturday in CSC is finished; last Saturday it generated about 1558 receipts, roughly on the par with today’s.

Only 7 of them are PP receipts though (see my previous post for the numbers), a lot fewer than yesterday; feels like CSC is closing on PP receipts…

Good luck to all who are still waiting!

      • Thanks, Jeff.
Such a small thing as correcting yourself after 11 minutes is actually a great sign. Many people on this forum have their last hopes.
I hope everyone will get through and people that won’t make it will get something good anyway. Your support can’t be overemphasized.
Good luck all, keep your hope and dreams alive!

      • Great work. I have my Visa approved but still I understand how anxious it can be waiting.

Good luck to people waiting hope all of you win the lottery 🙂

    • Anyone from Accenture India got receipt no.?

I’m checking with RMS team everyday and they have no clue…asking me to wait till mid of may…

also please let me know if i can check if its got selected in lottery by LCA case number?

      Thanks and much appreciated!!

  17. Hi I have applied my petition in RC/RP. I do not have case number for my application as my employer has filed my petition.

I was checking case Status from WAC1313951180 to WAC1313951196 , in which I cound not find status for WAC1313951182 and WAC1313951191 and for remaining I was getting following status :

On April 8, 2013, we received this I129 PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Does It mean case WAC1313951182 and WAC1313951191 are not selected in lottery ?

    • Nothing like that. If a petition was not selected in lottery it would not have any receipt number at all. Maybe those two reciept numbers belong to some other kind of petitions and USCIS might not be working on them during weekends.

    • It could also possible that some sloppy case workers forgot to submit their data input on WAC1313951182 and WAC1313951191 before moving on to open a new case. 😀

I’ve also seen some interesting typo like:

      “On February 8, 2013, we received this I129 PETITION…”

      That’s very early filing!

  18. haha, still see PP receipts are generated today at CSC; only a small number of, but give me some more hope now, example receipt numbers are:

    WAC1313853099
    WAC1313950756
    WAC1313950857
    WAC1313950907
    WAC1313950945
    WAC1313950967
    WAC1313950998

For RP/CSC guys, you shall be more positive, as I’ve scanned over 1000 receipts generated today by CSC and majority of them are RP receipts.

    • WAC1313951196 seems to be the latest CSC receipt.

Found another PP/CSC receipt WAC1313951029; the following is all of the PP/CSC receipts issued today so far:

      WAC1313950756
      WAC1313950857
      WAC1313950907
      WAC1313950945
      WAC1313950967
      WAC1313950998
      WAC1313951029

      • Thanks so much Jeff 🙂 Its the helpful people like you who keep our hopes alive!
Unlike some people who are using this anonymous forum to vent their frustration and give out long philosophical lectures!

        AD/RP/CSC

        • Hi Kimmel, when I firstly looked at these receipts on Saturday (20 April), the messages were like:

“On April 20, 2013, the 15-day premium processing clock started on your I129,PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER…”

Although now the message has changed to:

On April 22, 2013, we received this I129 PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER and we e-mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case.

The word ‘e-mailed’ is still indicating that this is a PP case.

However, as pointed out by some friend in the blog, an I129 petition can be a petition other than H-1B, so it is not 100% certain that this case is a cap-subjected H-1B petition.

Saying that, considering USCIS has been overloaded with H-1B petition processing, it is unlikely that they would process other types of petitions during this period.

      • Thanks. 🙂

The script is not that automated this moment; it stopped at WAC1313951197 now; I’ll kick it off again later to process new receipts.

        • Now processed until WAC1313951402 for today; still mostly RP receipts; no new PP receipt after WAC1313951029 🙁

          • @H1_wait: sry, I’m on the black list now; I’ll try again later.

“It was reported to us that your IP address or internet gateway has been locked out for a select period of time. This is due to an unusually high rate of use. In order to avoid this issue, please create a Customer account (single applicant) or a Representative account (representing many individuals).”

    • Hi Jeff,
I am also in pp category and not to discourage you ,
Is it possible that these premium receipts may be for new
L1 petition filed under premium processing.
For l1 also we have to file I129 as h1. This is just my doubt..

      • @PP/CSC: good point; there are so few PP recepts generated today which itself is not that encouraging 🙁

Probably the time for me to stop fantasising and get some sleep 😉

        • Just wanted to check. Did you encounter any other kind of petition in all of todays receipts i.e. other than I-129 petition for a non-immigrant worker? Just wanted to know if USCIS is working overtime on a weekend only for H-1B petitions or for all kinds of petitions.

          • @Gentoo, among the 1548 receipts I checked yesterday in CSC, there are

28 “Alien Registration Number changed relating to I129”
            44 “I539 application”
6 “address change related to I129”
2 “address change related to I539”
            (19 non-existent receipts)

Any idea if they are related with the lottery?

          • Yes! I-129 and I-539 both of them are related to H-1B petitions.

I-129 you obviously know is the main H-1B petition. I-539 is used to change the status of dependants (spouse, children) of H-1B beneficiary to H-4, incase the dependants are already inside US on some other visa. This is mostly used for dependents of students from US universities applying for H-1B for themselves and H-4 for dependants. The students would currently be on F-1 visa and dependants on F-2.

  19. Latest CSC receipt no: WAC1313950195

I’ve checkout all of 195 receipts; they all look like regular processing receipts. So RP guys, keep spirit high!

For PP guys (like me), I’ll let you know if I find any PP receipt generated later on.

      • This is a regular:

      • 1. PP requires Form I-907 which asks for email, fax and phone numbers for faster communication. So a PP receipt will say that it was emailed, while a regular receipt will say it was mailed.

        2. Most PP petitions entered after April 15th, will say PP clock started.

  20. Waiting for RP/RQ/VSC, don’t know when this wait will be over!
Employer says no news till yet for RP/RQ, this makes me worried 🙁

  21. Me and a few of my friends received their H-1B receipts and approvals last week. I have a theory that USCIS issued our receipts in order of our surnames. But, I have only 8 data points to validate it, which satisfy it for now. I would request people who have received their receipts to kindly fill up this form to help me gather more data points. (Click on my name to fill the form) I do not require or ask for any personally identifiable information.

Even if you believe or know that this theory is wrong, please fill the form as I would also like to analyze more subtle relations like date of receipt and date of posting of the petition.

Even if the data I get perfectly fits the theory it won’t be conclusive since the test data is not validated. So, take a chill pill and do not argue about or believe this theory it is just an experiment.

Thanks to people who decide to participate. I will post the results as soon as I have enough data points.

  22. Anyone still waiting for AD/RP/CSC? Losing hope now.
Dont even know how to start looking for jobs in India, given how long I’ve been wasting time getting an education in the States 🙁
Is anyone keeping track of CSC? I see the latest receipt nos posted for WAC does not go beyond day 138 🙁 🙁 Does that mean California is done?

      • Don’t panic! This blog just represents the tip of the iceberg. The majority of the applicants is not even posting here. Remember today is Saturday. USCIS might be working overtime but it is not expected out of them, it’s a weekend! Other than that the latest receipt number from WAC (CSC) is WAC1313950544. So chill!

If you do panic then channel your panicked energy to work out a Plan B. Look on Linkedin for your school’s alumni working in India, see what companies they are working for. Ask your friends working in India to help you out. Easiest way to job hunt is look on Linkedin for companies that you want to work for, see if they have openings and how many of your alumni are working there then ask them for referral.

    • Latest Receipt for CSC I found is WAC1313950549.

AD/RP/CSC still waiting on receipt. Know someone from the same company that had gotten their receipt notification since this week Wednesday. I am still eagerly waiting to find out if I was selected in the Lottery.

Add to this I tried to call my international office yday and he checked the SEVIS status but all the status said was “OPT Approved”. Idk what this means but maybe its just a lag time before its actually posted on SEVIS and the processing time at the center.

At this moment its the eager waiting and hope for the best

      • Hi I am in the same situation as you! I am waiting to hear an update ….
AD/PP/CSC … I even checked with my DSO and he said there is no change in my SEVIS … so lets hope for the best and see

  23. AD/PP/VSC

Guys…i know we are very few of us in this category who were left out.
I think we need to accept reality that we were NOT selected.

What are the chances of us replacing rejected applications.
Do we know criteria they use to put an application on stand by??
    Again, lets not panic.

    • I have seen a few receipt numbers with petitions rejected due to incorrect fee, one or two due to no signatures. As of now fee and incorrect form filing would be the only two causes of denial. RFE cases will hang in suspense and won’t be rejected as of now. I read somewhere that denial rate is between 10-15%.

    • Same here. Adv. Deg/PP/VSC.

I don’t understand what to do now.

Guys any suggestions of taking CPT and joining in the univ again, paying fees etc.

lets share something about the plan-B, if you have one.

      • ad/pp/csc;
        have started applying to universities as they are cap exempt;
the other option would be to enrol in some language courses for an year and get back to f1 status- anyone exploring this option?

  24. Me and a few of my friends received their H-1B receipts and approvals last week. I have a theory that USCIS issued our receipts in order of our surnames. 25. AD/RP/VSC

I am on the east coast, lawyer is in California. I received my receipt number yesterday. Date of receipt at USCIS was 8th April(the lottery was on the 7th), date of notice was 15th April. It took 4 days for USPS to deliver their mail, which is understandable.

Also, I had contacted my DSO on 18th April and she was uncooperative to say the least. All I learnt from ICE was that a change of status was pending, which indicated to me that my petition was opened.

  26. I checked with my laywer and they said by end of the month we will have information for my petition selection in lottery. But they wont send receipt no. even after selection and said check with employer for that. Employer said we wont tell you case number. Does it make any sense ?
What is wrong to reveal receipt number ?

        • At least there is still hope. You really shall tell them that so many people are getting and sharing their receipt numbers on the internet and ask them what is wrong with you!!

          You are RP I guess?

          • I asked them and they said that company is investing money and will take care everything then why do you need to follow up with us ?
I dont understand asking for my receipt no. (if already selected) then what is an issue ? This is really rude and ridiculous response.
BTW, I am on RQ & RP.

    • It does not make sense, but atleast your employer and lawyer are replying to you, unlike many people who get no response. As long as they keep you abreast of the situation it should not matter. After all the receipt number shows no personal information, so you can’t really be sure it belongs to you.

USCIS should return the rejected petitions by June/July. So you would know by then if you were selected in the lottery or not.

    • It’s absurd.
This is how it is: the attorneys file the company’s petition on your behalf. That’s the whole procedure. You being the beneficiar,y is entitled to have your immigration status known at all times. You demand that information. You have the right to do so.

      • Qwerty do u think I will get receipt…ad/ rp/ CSC…spoke to DSO they gave a receipt number…do I count on that

        • If your DSO read the receipt number off your SEVIS record then be calm you got selected in the lottery. Got to the USCIS website and check your case status.

          • Lawyer says he cant confirm till he gets receipt… That made me worry. I checked on uscis website.. it says initial review.. 8th april they received the applicaiton and mail was sent out

  27. Some of my friends ( all AD/RP ) including me received the receipt and they should be on their way.Its the high volumes, Lack of resources and Logistics that is delaying the process. It is Just 12 days after lottery, it is not practical to process all 124,000 if they even process 5,ooo per day accurately. Frankly USCIS is doing a good job compared to the previous lottery years on notifications. There is still probably good percentage to be processed.

    Faith and hope…Stay alive.

  28. Guys one week gone for premium processing..does that mean 50% of premium processing cases already approved??

      • Sorry! It’s 15 calendar days only. 🙁 But, in cases where USCIS is unable to process within 15 days it returns the PP fee but keeps the application. So, all is not lost.

Also, the time difference between the receipting of my petition and adjudication (was approved) was less than 5 days. So, PP cases certainly have hope.

      • The uscis website says its 15 calendar days for pp..does it mean 15 business days?? Check their website..

  29. Hello,
I have been following this forum since 5th April. I finally got my receipt yesterday. It took USPS 4 days to deliver the receipt. I had applied AD/PP/VSC. But my lawyer did not file for G-1145 which is required if you want to receive e-mail/text updates (premium processing does not guarantee e-mail updates). So, don’t lose hope — VSC is still working on PP cases.

    • Form G-1145 cannot be filed at EAC or WAC (i.e. Vermont or California), hence cannot be used for new I129 petitions for H-1B visas. Your attorney might have missed the email, filled his/her email address incorrectly or the notification might have been classified as spam.

      • Form I-907 automatically means email notifications. No, need to file any other form like G-1145 (even though it is not applicable).

Refer to Premium Processing under USCIS website for details on Form I-907.

    • Hi “No Name”, you are the man bringing more hope!!!

I wish my lawyer forgot to include G-1145 as well; day-dreaming…

  30. After finding out that my checks have been cashed on Thursday, my company received the receipt notice yesterday… AND my name is misspelled…. Ha. From what I hear, it’s an easy fix but my name really isn’t that complicated compared to other names 😉

  31. Hi guys, I am an avid follower of this blog.

I am RP/VSC. Not heard yet.

But from what I see, people are fighting here, about who is better and who is not. Whether AD guys deserve to stay here more than someone who has applied from another country. Let’s not get into that. Everyone is good in his/her own way. And every one should have an equal chance to go to US and follow their dream.

Lets focus on the crux of the matter here, and that is whether we are selected in the lottery or Not. And give updates here. Fighting has never helped anyone. Come on guys.
