USCIS received 124,000 H1B Visa 2014 Petitions – Official Lottery Update Results

As predicted by us earlier on USCIS official news update date, USCIS did an official press release today disclosing the details of overall petitions received and lottery process followed, including results. Below is a brief summary of the H1B Visa 2014 news release.

USCIS Official News : Summary of H1B Visa 2014 Lottery Results press release

  • Big News: For the first time in USCIS history since 2008, H1B Visas 2014 cap reached within the first week of filings, i.e, first week of April.  You can check out US Economy and H1B Visa Lottery
  • Total H1B Petitions received :  USCIS received a total of 124,000 H1B Visa petitions for fiscal year 2014.
  • Lottery Information : USCIS conducted a random computer generated random selection process, also called as lottery, on April 7th to select the petitions needed to meet the regular cap of 65,000 and masters cap of 20,000
  • Lottery Process followed: As described in our detail H1B Visa Lottery process, USCIS followed the same thing.  First USCIS conducted lottery process for Masters quota petitions and then the petitions not selected in masters lottery were merged with regular quota pool and random selection process was conducted for remaining pool to select 65,000 petitions.
  • Petitions Not Selected in Lottery  : If your petition was not selected in lottery, USCIS will reject and return the petition along with the filing fee, except for duplicate petitions.
  • Premium Processing for H1B Visa 2014 : To facilitate the data entry process and meet the timelines, USCIS will begin premium processing for H1B Visa 2014 from April 15th.
  • Non-Cap Subject Petitions Accepted :  USCIS will continue to accept non-cap subject petitions i.e, that have already been counted towards to the cap, including petitions filed under below category
    • H1B Visa stay extensions
    • Employee terms changes for H1B visa worker
    • H1B petitions filed for Change of employers
    • H1B petitions filed for concurrent working for more than one employer

  1. Guys one q,
    The ones who are still waiting in AD/R/PP quota, did you guys submit the application on the 1st day or in the subsequent days??? Just to know if USCIS has only considered on first come first serve basis…

    • All the applications from April 1st to april 5th end of the day was put in for lottery irrespective of Ad, Regular, Premium or regular process…

    • I would suggest check one more time with Petitioner/Attorney. To the best of my knowledge there is no one has received EAC receipt with today format for PP applications. Speed up your contact with your Attorney.

    Just got my EAC number!!! SUCH A RELIEF!! Good luck to the rest of ppl waiting…Have faith!

    My attorney got the email yesterday afternoon at 12:35PM and no idea why he did not forward the receipt until today!!

  5. uscis is updating the database with the case numbers every minute. at 11.32am the most recent case was EAC1313452159. and just after a minute it is EAC1313452160.

  7. ‘…This case is being processed at our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you….

    I applied in PP. why does it say ‘ You will be notified by mail..’.. should it not say ‘by email’ for a PP.

    Does this mean even though I applied in premium USCIS chose to do it in Normal?

      Premium applicants gets both in email and mail. Through email they just let you know that you are selected but the actualy hard copy of the receipt will be sent to you through mail. Well good thing is you won the lottery soo sit back and relax and I`m sure you will get your h1b approved soon. All the best

    • Cool man. you’ve cleverly missed the first part and you copied some text from whole status message and you are worrying. How bad it is. Just relax dude, you will be processed in PP and your attorney will get a mail once decision is made.

  8. WAC 1313050001 – WAC 1313053861 in Acceptance or Initial Review stages, does that mean only 3861 people received receipt from CSC?

      Series – WAC 131305****
      After this they changes the series to WAC131315****

      PS – Notice the 05 and 15 change in both the above WAC

  9. I received the WAC number thru EGAN website. Mine was AD/Regular(not premium) processing/CSC. USCIS status said they emailed the notification (which I am assuming my EGAN received).

    • great so you are the first person to receive it. But i dnt know they were also emailing regular process applicants. Congratulations to you and all the best to people like me who applied under regular process.

    • Hey what is EGAN Website, is it your Employers website.I believe Regular processing dont have the option of Email Notifications.Where did you saw the USCIS status.Can you please be more descriptive.I am also AD/Regular

      • EGAN is an immigration law firm. They have a tracker portal where applicants could see their application status. HTH.

        • How did you see your application status. Did you enter certain info. Please share with us the process if you can. Thanks and best of luck

          • There is no reason I should play around. The reason why I say I am “confused” is because I really am – as probably I saw myself as the first one with regular processing getting the receipt. I have asked my lawyer to confirm it and I will let you know when I get the confirmation.

        • I think so…if your petition was filed by EGAN. I read in one of the other comments where someone suggested to look into EGAN website and that is when I logged on their portal to see the status. Thankfully it was positive.

          • Confused. Don’t get confused. Would you be able to provide EGAN search page url and your receipt number. I will try my best to figure it out. 🙂

          • @ confused.. so basically you applied through EGAN and when you logged into their portal you saw your receipt number? Please correct me if i`m wrong.

            So basically it doesnt apply for everyone except for those who applied through EGAN

          • Egan LLP is an internal department of one of the Big4 accounting firms.

            If you are been sponsored by that particular firm associated with Egan LLP – hint: 2 letters, Yellow & Black logo, that big4 firm require you to register a profile with Egan LLP portal.

            You will, then, have a login where you can check your immigration status updated on the portal.

          • EGAN LLP is used by E&Y…

            People who work for E&Y should atleast know that EGAN is used by E&Y to track the visa status….

  10. EAC 1 3 134 5 2055 is the last accepted application, which means vermont service center has accepted 2055 applications.
    EAC – vermont service center
    13 – year 2013
    134 – day of the year
    5 – always starts with 5
    2055 – actual application number.

      No one knows this nomenclature dude, chill.
      If VSC accepted only 2055 petitions, what about others?

    • 134 is definitely not the day of year as 10th april is 100 day of the year.. so please don’t make up things and confuse others..

      • NW, you would have run for Xtra mile to understand that. current FY is 2013- so starting with 13, then current business day(they call computer working day) is 134 at VSC, and finally the random number is prefixed with 5 and last 4 digits is a Sequence.

        • Search, Is your watever current business day.. computer working day.. lol.. is different at CSC n VSC? Bcz CSC one’s start with 130 or 131 or 132..

        • As if you ran an XTRA mile to copy things over form other website.. This is available over various websites..

      • The day number is counted as number of working days since October 1, 2012. 10/01/2012 is the first day of the fiscal year 2013 in US.

  11. People .. i know i am in the same boat with you guys …!!

    I dont know about me as well if i will make it or not…

    One thing i would like to tell everyone this not the end ..
    Dont be emotional at this stage .. time expects you to be more practical.

    Be practical and start ahead with your backup options. I am doing the same.. Thats the reason i am not worried about it if i make it or not.

    I am in more complex situation but i want to fight it out i wont let it go so easily just by becoming emotional.

  12. few of u guys r so lucky that ur lawyers reply back to u…some of us(like me) who are unfortunately not that lucky to hear back from our lawyers if we ask them few questions..i think they are too professional to care about how crazy we are going :(,,my law firm is clark hill’s!!!

  13. No updates for me AD/CSC/PP.
    My employer did indicate that he has not recieved any from Cali today, however we see a bunch of regular guys getting from Cali. Does that mean Cali has mixed both AD and Regular and are sending them out randomly.
    Hope prevails!!

    • The day has just started in CA so they have just started sending out the receipt numbers again. By EOD tomorrow you should have it. All the best.

  14. Hello Everyone all those who applied under regular process please do not stress.
    We will start getting our receipts starting next week. It will take time because they are mailing it to our lawyer or employer. So b patient, have faith and hope for the best. I`m sure we all will get through. I am in the same boat as everyone who applied under regular process and i totally understand your anxiety. But dont loose hope have faith in god.       • Yes they have started sending out mails already. also one new thing came up. THere`s this person who posted in this forum as @confused stated that he received it through email. SO i`m guessing they are also emailing regular applicants but as far as i knew till yesterday based on what my lawyer told me that regular applicants will only receive through mails. But either way you will get it by next week. All the best.

        • Well I think USCIS might have goofed up by accepting his regular application under PP. I haven’t seen anyone receiving tracking number for regular processing.

          So its a goof up or troll.

  15. Unexpectedly…. I got the good news from my School International student office..
    I am on F1 status applied for H1 on matsers PP… I didn’t get confirmation from attorney yet.
    My school official gave me a call, yesterday and left me a message. I really didnt expect this from my school official. Hope every body gets acceptance. I know how this torture is….

      We will start getting our receipts starting next week. It will take time because they are mailing it to our lawyer or employer. So b patient, have faith and hope for the best.     • My sponsoring company relayed the news to me, so I didn’t ask for the receipt no or the date on it. Sorry:/ But they emailed me at 11:20 am EST saying they just heard from the lawyer.

      No one has received receipts for regular processing yet. Dont stress. Regular process applicants will be receiving recipts starting next week. All the best. I am in the same boat as you so worry not we`ll get through B positive.

      • I got mine on Wednesday. AD/PP/VSC. I hope they release the total no of masters petitions so that we can know what the true odds are, but it looks like it is much better for us.

        All AD/PP please update when you get urs so we can know how the odds are turning out.

    • it usually takes a week for the receipt to come, like your EAD cards receipt would have come atleast a week/2 weeks before submittal. So even though you submitted ur app on prolly 1st April, ur app was considered after 8th April. so wait till next week or the week after that.

      I hope all ADs make it and so do Reg. Its sad that theese consultancies are putting so many people in such stress. They have filed tons of applications after that 15th march notice. many IT techs filed through multiple consultancies so there is a good chance that cap that goes to a consultancy never gets used but some worthy person in the US gets screwed. Shame on you IT and consultancies!

  26. Just heard back from my sponsoring company who works with Fragomen. Got receipt no for AD/PP/VSC. Hang in there, you’ll get it too!

    • AD/PP/VSC-lost hope :(….my attorney and employer are really good and should have informed me if I got by now………..I should stop worrying, waiting and get going with my routine life…trying hard but not been possible.

  27. Regular / PP / VSC – Still waiting.
    I found my file reached in the morning on April 5, not sure if this could impact delays or if it was just not selected.

    I’m so worried and I feel bitter becuase a point of my life now is depending on the lottery result.

    • Hey, dont worry USCIS had mentioned it clearly that they will accept all applications by end of the day on April5th, 2013. So your applications has been put through the lottery. Have faith and hope you the very best. You still have till saturday EOD, So be calm and positive.

        • thats the process according to my lawyer. First they work on sending out receipts for premium applicants as their process starts from April 15th. Next they start mailing out receipts to regular process applicants. So starting next week people under regular process will start getting their receipts.

    • I would suggest check with you sponsor or lawyer if they have not received anything until now then there is the chance that you were not selected. Now, VSC is not generating any receipt for PP.

    i finally made it AD/PP/Vermont . I made it on the 9th but i kept calling the lawyer who did not recive the mail.My employer received but did not notify my. I was biting my nails and reading this forum all this while . but I shd thank all you guys for every encouraging word and sentence it truely got me going and wish all the good. May god give us the strength to get through this.

  35. My sponsor text me that I got the receipt number. Still he hasn’t forwarded the same.

    I thank god for getting into this. I came here after failing 2 startups, 10 years of failure and passion for entrepreneurship. Need to land on a job for a while till I raise money to support my family and bootstrapping my next company.

    Mine was PP/Regular/California center. Hope I get that visa, that land me onto silicon valley.

  36. If the regular Premium processing acceptance confirmation started coming, does that mean all the Masters PP is done. I am tensed… because i applied for Masters PP, i haven’t got confirmation…

          • Yeah.. After following this post for 2 days I believe they are trying to get all PP applications accepted first no matter if its an AD or a regular. Then they will look forward to normal petitions. So wait for the EOD today and hopefully tomorrow.

  42. Did any regular processing (not PP) applicant hear yet? I saw my employers statements yesterday but dont see the checks. Is theUSCIS cashing the premium applicants checks now and next week onwards cash the check for regular applicants? Or have they deposited the checks for all the applicants already?

      • Regular Processing wont be so early.. till 15th we would be hearing about PPs ..

        Regular processing would start by 15th and since its regular the results would be sent to employers/lawyer by post
        so would take more 2-3 weeks.

        • Why would you say it will take 2-3 weeks. let’s be realistic; At both CSC and VSC they have started entering Non-PP cases for 2 days now. Maybe they are waiting to deposit all checks in one single go, because no one here says their checks are en-cashed. But from Monday next week Non-PP people start saying they got receipt numbers.

    • I think there are only two service centers which process H1-B petitions — Vermont & California.

  45. On April 8, 2013, we received this I129 PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something

    Does this mean they already mailed it on 8th or they mailed it today?

      • This is Non-PP case at VSC and it could be either in ADE/Regular Cap. I know OMG is just searching for some numbers in Case status page like me 😀

          U can track the random numbers on USCIS.gov
          VSC is running very fast this time. it looks like they have already processed 1800 application by 11:00AM

          • They have entered many Non-PP cases today, but not all 1800 are I129. And interesting I do not see(not even 1 in my searches) any PP case numbers entered today at VSC. Maybe I am wrong

          • Nope, i did not see any of them. I have a feeling that they are done with PP. Unless some application fall down on the floor and USCIS employee bothered to bent their back to pick it up and enter it.

            Agree there are other applications, but not many now they are in 1900 line so i am thinking 100 are from other categories.

          • It seems to me that all petitions (premium and regular) with Initial Review status has the same description. I haven’t find petitions with Initial Review status which was e-mailed only mailed.

            Logically, all petitions under Initial Review are PP because regular petitions will be reviewed later (after 30 of April)

    • Mine is in Regular quota PREMIUM PROCESSING VSC…
      Got my receipt number yesterday..

      My friend is in the same above category..He got his receipt number today morning…
      One of my other friend is still expecting to hear today or tomorrow..

      So, the recepit numbers are still coming their way..DONT LOSE HOPE…
      You will get it…Stay calm & be patient & Wait…you will get it..

  47. Just got an email from my employer saying that my case got accepted. My employer uses fragomen, (their website was not updates, fragomen emailed my employer and my employer then emailed me … so don’t count on the website being updated first!).

    My case: Regular cap/ PP/ CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER

    • My employer used Fragomen too, they sent that intimidating email that says “be patient and dont contact us in the waiting period!”, haha.

      • @HOPEHOPE Fragomen is an immigration firm that many employers use. I recieved an email from them stating that the cap had been reached and to expect to hear back by the end of the month. To be truthful the wait is killing me but I am trying really hard to focus and do my work. Hopefully we all have some good news to report. If not life does not end here. Only have to take a different path to get the same results. Good luck to all. And to those with multiple applications I can not critisize. We all do different things to get to where we want to get to. Gotta do what you gotta do

    • Applicant`s lawyer or employer will start getting receipts for regular process starting next week,

      • I hate mail system, why dont they just email and confirm. They can 10 dollars more to H1b cost if they want.

            Your posts are encouraging and yes my lawyer said the same that they will keep getting receipts (emails) until this month end.

            So everyone needs to be optimistic here.

            Althought mine got shortlisted, I feel for others as I was in the same boat few days ago. I am praying that everyone who genuinely applied only once for H1B get through.

    • I just got mine. California centre is sending them very slowly. So please don’t lose hopes as you’ll get it for sure. My employer said they are supposed to get AD/PP receipt numbers until Monday . In the mean while your employer can call USCIS and find out about your case itseems. I’ve seen some one doing that yesterday.

    • You have entire day today and saturday. The day has not even started in CA so be positive. Plus you are in AD and as USCIS did not mention the exact number of applicants for AD there`s a huge possibility that all AD applicants will get through. Thats what my lawyer told me. Wish you all the very best.

      Don’t lose hope. I am confident you will all be included. This is indeed extremely unerving. I was notified on Wednesday morning but and had lost my sleep since Sunday night. I know how it feels but I am sure at the end you will feel great relief. Hang in there and try not to think of it for a couple of days.
