I didn’t understand for a moment but she didn’t return the passport so I understood it as approved.

Only two counters were open when I went. There was only one counter in the room I was interviewing and the voice was very clear. In Hyderabad they were giving green forms to rejected candidates and nothing to approved ones

Me- I have secured a loan of 40 lakhs and my family has savings of 44 lakhs. ( Then Vo interrupted me)

Vo : How machine learning works?
Me : I said like the ML algorithms helps to feed the data to computers bla bla bla…
Vo : then he asked what is supervised learning and unsupervised learning?
Me : supervised learning uses data labels for mapping input and output, when coming to unsupervised learning it is quite opposite to supervised learning as it does not use any labels to solve a problem…
Vo : How u r going to fund?
Me : while saying about my funding he cuts me and he put the passport in tray and told me ur visa is approved.

I observed that African VO is approving visa if we are perfect in our course work, specialisation and technical related questions
Today only 2 counters are working
Chinese guy and African American

Chinese asking all technical questions.. those who give justified answers got approved.. he’s screwing with follow up questions.

And the good thing is that we are 3 frnds all got approved today at kolkata.
Me and my friend got interviewed by African VO and other frnd got interviewed with Chinese VO.

Went in the Biometric Section (before the Interview Section) after waiting in 3 different sections/queues: 10:45 AM

Documents checked: Passport, I20, Sevis fee receipt (checked only in the biometrics section).

6 counters were operating. I was sent to Counter 21 (extreme left counter).

VO was American Lady in 35-40 age range with short hair.

The 2nd person in front got rejected (going for bachelors- could not understand the same question even after VO repeated it several times). The person in front got approved (H1B; has been working in US for 6 years on H1B before the interview).

VO gestured me to come.

She then took my left hand fingerprints.

Delhi consulate had a good number of applicants that day for F1 and H1B visa. Arrive atleast 1hr before your slot. The arrangement is like after your security check you would be asked to sit in rows and would be sent inside in the same way.

VO- Good morning, I am doing good thanks for asking.
VO- Pass me your i20 and passport.
VO- Which university are you going for?

Me- I have taken Education loan from Indian bank and apart from that my parents would be supporting me with there savings.

VO- Okay, I am approving your visa. Have a great stay in USA and follow all the rules and regulations. You would be receiving your passport in 4-5days.

While waiting in the line what I observed Indian Lady VO was grilling students.
Approval rate in delhi is 90-95% but for indian lady counter it is 70%.

My suggestion would be whichever counter you go be patient, speak louder, do not fumble or ask VO to repeat questions and answer confidentially with smile on your face.

Moreover, Texas is famous for food,arts and museums.( I have prepared this answer for what is famous in Houston city but I said that for Texas very confidently and fluently)
Vo: good, what is your undergraduation?
Me: i completed my bachelor’s in computer science and engineering from college with cgpa of 8.6 out of 10.( Here I thought vo asks me about my experience because i don’t have any experience for one year but no questions about that)
Vo: what are you going to do in engineering? (because my i20 mentioned my program as engineering so he asked me what in engineering)
Me: I’m going to pursue masters in engineering data science.

Suggestions:

Be confident it’s the key to get your visa. And listen to the question carefully before answering.
What ever answer you have prepared say it loudly and confidently.
Infront of me one boy rejected I don’t know the reason but I have heard that vo saying with sad face unfortunately I can’t approve your visa you can reapply again. The boy packed his file immediately after listening unfortunately.
The boy before me is good but he didn’t listening the question properly vo has repeated the question regarding funding atleast 5times. Still he approved his visa.
Be at consulate before one hour of your slot time.
If it is 8’o clock slot then you can arrive at 7:50 it’s fine because they starts exactly at 7:50.
Within this one hour Max 70 people or more got their visa.
And Delhi is very cold be prepared for that.

Be confident and DO NOT get tensed. i have observed that people who are tensed and stammering are getting rejected. Guy before me got rejected because of stammering even though his financials was good. Be calm and answer to the point. My VO mostly focused on the financials.

Delhi consulate had a good number of applicants that day for F1 and H1B visa. Arrive atleast 1hr before your slot. The arrangement is like after your security check you would be asked to sit in rows and would be sent inside in the same way.

While waiting in the line what I observed Indian Lady VO was grilling students.
Approval rate in delhi is 90-95% but for indian lady counter it is 70%.

My suggestion would be whichever counter you go be patient, speak louder, do not fumble or ask VO to repeat questions and answer confidentially with smile on your face.

Me: I have done my undergrad in Bachelors of Dental surgery.
VO: Ah,Dentistry! So are you working as a dentist now?
Me: No officer, I’m not working right now, but I have volunteered as junior dental surgeon at one of my professors clinic for few months.
VO: Tell me about few roles you can work with your masters
Me: With my masters, I can work as Health informatics director, chief medical information officer, health information specialist (she stopped me here)
VO: who is funding your education?
Me: Both my parents are sponsoring for my education.

Me: He is a central government employee working in All India radio station

Vo : what’s your parent s income ?
Me : my family income is 24 lacs per annum in which my parents earn 14 lacs per Annum.

Vo: do you have work experience ?
Me : yeah I have work experience of 4 years in consumer genetics company

Vo: what does your company do ?
Me : my company deals with genetic DNA coding test – I handles the sales part.

Vo: what’s your income ?
Me: I earn 12 lacs per annum

Vo: are you going for second masters ?
Me : No sir

If at all going to Chennai embassy avoid counter #24

At first I got 24 counter I requested him to change – before me one guy got grilled He is the one rejecting the visas- if in Q you get 24 counter- request the person to change.

The only thing is be confident, have smile and speak loud.
