What’s After H1B 2015 Lottery ? FAQs – Receipt Numbers, Processing Times?

Updated : April 21, 2015- Modified content on additional petitions than 85,000 quota – wait-listing for denials

As you know, USCIS conducted a lottery on the 172,500 H1B Visa petitions filed for FY 2015 quota and did a press release indicating that the 85,000 petitions selected will be notified with receipt numbers and those not selected will be rejected and returned. I have seen many of our readers asking questions on variety of topics like below.

  • What are the Next Steps after H1B Lottery by USCIS ?
  • Who will get the case number ?  Do I get an email ? Will I get a hard copy ?
  • Who will get the rejected application ? Employer or Employee ?
  • Did anyone receive H1B receipt Numbers for Premium processing ?
  • When will I receive the H1B Case number?
  • How many Master’s degree petitions were received  ? What were my odds in lottery ?
  • Does USCIS select more petitions than 85,000 as backup for denials ?
  • How do I know, if my employer really filed my case ?
  • Can I know the details of my case from USCIS ? What are my choices ?
  • Can I upgrade my case to Premium processing without receipt number ?
  • I have not slept in couple of days, when will I receive my receipt number?

This article addresses all of these FAQs.

What are the Next Steps after H1B Lottery by USCIS ?

  • USCIS notifies selected Premium Processing  applicants about their receipt numbers
  • USCIS then notifies all selected non-premium/regular  processing  candidates about their receipt numbers through postal mail
  • USCIS completes all premium processing applications adjudication by May 12 (15 calendar days from Apr 28)
  • USCIS continues to process non-premium processing cases once their premium processing applications load is down
  • USCIS starts sending out rejection letters to non-selected candidates

Some of these steps may happen in parallel, while some may happen sequential. Also, the timelines are based upon historical data and it is not possible to predict actual dates for this year.  For general info, you may also read  USCIS Processing time for Regular vs Premium

Who will get the case number ? Employee or Employer ?   Do I get an email ? Will I get a hard copy ?

Usually  the employer/ immigration attorney, who filed the H1B petition would receive the receipt number.  The employee will NOT get any email or hard copy of the receipt number from USCIS.  For selected premium processing petitions, an email with receipt number will be sent to the attorney and then followed by a hard copy in mail. For selected regular processing petitions, a hard copy of the receipt notice with receipt number is sent via standard mail.  Either case, nothing will be sent to the employee, it will always be sent to the employer/ immigration attorney.  Read about What USCIS H1B Case number means

Who will get the rejected application, not selected in lottery ? Employer or Employee ?

The employer/immigration attorney will get the rejected application that was not picked in the random computer generation process/lottery.  It should include the fee you sent as well, unless it was a duplicate filing by the employer for the same employee.

Did anyone receive H1B receipt Numbers for Premium processing ?

Yes, some of our readers have indicated that they received Premium processing case receipt numbers on Friday, April 11th, 2014.  Check the sample USCIS H1B 2015 email receipt.  There is no guarantee that everyone, who filed under premium processing, should receive the case numbers right away this week or in the next week. They may start to receive the case numbers anytime from now, nothing to panic that someone got it and you did not.

USCIS said April 28th  is when they will start the premium processing, How come some are receiving the case numbers and emails  ?

Here is the exact USCIS statement  “While the Form I-797 receipt notice indicates the date USCIS received the premium processing fee, the 15-day processing period set by 8 CFR 103.7(e)(2) will begin no  later than April 28, 2014. “.  If you read carefully, it says ‘NO LATER THAN April 28th “, which means that they will start the 15 day clock for premium processing by April 28th, does not mean they will start on April 28th.  So, technically USCIS can start the processing and send out receipt numbers for Premium processing any time before that as well. In fact, they have already since Friday April 11th.

When will I receive the H1B visa 2015 Case number, if I am selected ?  Regular vs Premium ?

The premium processing cases selected, ideally should get receipt numbers by April 28th and a decision (approval or RFE) by May 12th ( April 28th + 15 calendar days)  as they are bound by 15 calendar day time limit.  For regular processing, ideally, you would receive the receipt numbers a little later. Last year, we have seen receipt numbers sent until late June. This year, we can expect it to be around the same or maybe a little late like early July, as the USCIS load has increased slightly ( Denying and returning more petitions )

How many Master’s degree petitions were received  ? What were my odds in lottery ?

Unfortunately, USCIS has not officially released any petition numbers received for the master’s degree quota. They have not release it last year too. If someone says a number, it is pure speculation. To calculate your odds in lottery, just use the 172,500. It may not be accurate, but gives you some baseline to know your worst case probability.

Does USCIS select more petitions than 85,000 as backup for denials ?

[Updated on April 21st, 2014 ]  USCIS did not release any official information for FY 2015 saying that they selected or wait-listed more petitions than 85,000 as backup to account for denials. Previously, in 2008 USCIS mentioned in their press release that they have  “wait-listed” some petitions to replace the denials, withdrawal petitions, etc.  But, for this FY 2015 quota, we don’t know.  If USCIS were to follow the same process like in 2008, they would have some “wait-listed petitions” put aside in FY 2015 as well. We just have to wait and see or hear from our users. No official information from USCIS on this.

How do I know, if my employer really filed my case ?

Well, you have to trust your employer and get the information from him that your petition is filed. Usually, employers are upfront and keep you posted about this and send you the emails/hard copy scans from USCIS. You need to find this from your employer.

Can I know the details of my case from USCIS ? What are my choices ?

Well, this is a roundabout way. USCIS has Freedom of Information act , which can be used to get information regarding you file/case. This could take few months( 6 months ) as there are many requests.  But, there is no guarantee here as it is at the discretion of USCIS. Technically, the H1B petition filed is the employer property and you may not have full rights until you start to work for them legally on H1B. We have heard that some cases information was not disclosed. Again, it depends. Talk to an attorney for more clarification.

Can I upgrade my case to Premium processing without receipt number?

You need the USCIS H1B receipt number to upgrade your case to premium processing. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do, you need to wait for the case number.

I have not slept properly in couple of days, when will I receive my receipt number?

We understand that it can be very stressful period waiting for the petition receipt number and then for processing of the application.  Many of us have been in similar shoes and can empathize your pain. Unfortunately, there is nothing we all can do as it is not in our hands.  Please try to stay calm, focus your personal time on something that you enjoy or with your spouse/kids/friends. Do share your information with our readers on the blog, so all of our readers help each other. We plan to re-build our H1B Tracker with analytics, please post your case once you get the receipt number.

  1. AD/PP/VT.. This whole system is such a farce. I can’t believe that even after being a productive part of the society here for so long, without even a single blemish on our records, we have to leave. What a piss-poor state of affairs. All these fly-by-night companies stealing what’s ours. All you fakers and the people working at USCIS, I have 3 words for you –

          • I am also waiting under AD/PP/VT. IMHO, we don’t have much chance now. We need to work actively on Plan B and C (even though they are painful, expensive, losing a job, etc.,). If we don’t get our petition back either this or next week, there is a slight chance of getting H1B some time in May, June or July. But, we should not wait for this to happen. If in case, someone has to go to their home country (no Plan B or C), he/she can always comeback by getting visa stamping before Oct, provided the opening (job left by you) still exists.

        • So many of my plans for the future will just come crashing down if this doesn’t work. The agonizing part is the wait…!

  4. Hi…

i am a non ad/reg/ca applicant…. currently on h4 and applied for h1b from a US start up company.both my employer and lawyer have now asked me to move on to plan B. i had asked them to check if my cheque was encashed or not but i didnt get any reply on that exactly but was asked to keep no hope..

i wanted to know if there is a possibility of COS to L1 from h4.previously i was working for a reputed mobile communication techology company with 4 years of work exp.the company’s head office is in CA. is it possible for them to file for my L1 now? its been 4 months since i have resigned from the company and now in US..
any comments/help regarding info from h4 to L1 will be very useful. pls let me know if there is any external link?

      • You have to be associated with the company for minimum 1 year to be eligible for L1. Since you have resigned already, you may have to start working with the company again for a year to be eligible for L1. BTW rejection ratio for L1 is very high so you have to be able to prove that the domain that you are working is
a rare technology/domain in US and you are specially skilled for that.

P.S This is according to my experience and knowledge.

        • as far as i know……..H4 to L1 can not be done….L1 means, intra company transfer with special skills (ex: XYZ India to XYZ USA)….if you wanna go with L1, can be applied only from the home country (out side USA).

        • thanks The ROCK and Atlanta for your comments.

I have been with this company for 4 years before i resigned (the only place where i have worked ever) so by that criteria i am good i suppose… regarding the domain which needs to very specific to the company; this i am not very sure of. but having said i think its worth getting in touch with my ex manager to talk abt it.

          gook luck to all

  5. Ad/PP/VT fragomen told me, that USCIS is done sending receipts. With the tone, I could tell he meant that I have 0% chance of being selected. However I still chose to remain hopeful until I recieve my packet.

Shame on all the fake H1B filers, where fake companies in India file fake H1b’s for people just to get them abroad without any job.

And shame on USCIS for allowing such crap.

    • I totally agree!! H1B should be awarded based on MERIT not based on luck or chance! Priorities should be given to US companies – not IT body shop companies from India! 50% of all h1Bs go to INDIAN IT CONSULTING companies, mostly to folks who file through multiple employers!

As you said, a Stanford PhD graduate has the same chance of being selected asa guy filing through a fake employer! (assuming the PhD didn’t make it through the masters cap).

There should be a merit based system in place, prioritizing US grads (beyond the 20K cap) and US companies filing H1Bs. If anything is left, open it to the rest of the world.

Folks study hard, invest time and money to find an employer willing to file for the H1B. Then, the employer wastes so much $$$ for on boarding, training, recruiting, and legal fees.

And at the end of the day, the H1B doesn’t get selected. It is a lose-lose situation for the employer, employee, and US economy!

so sorry to hear that u dint get picked in lottery..i can understand ur situation… may be god has something better for u, jus believe in god and move on.. but i would still pray for u to get ur receipt number..good luck

        • Sorry to hear that! I know so many in a similar situation – A friend of mine graduated with an MBA form a top school, got a great job, works there for a year now – got accepted into a leadership development program, it all just worked out find EXCEPT – she didn’t make the lottery for the second time …

she has 60 days to leave the US.

I really have a hard time making my peace with this injustice – and I know that nothing will solve it: increasing the quota won’t do the trick – it will simply delay the problem until the quota is maxed out again.

The only short term solution would be to revert regular and AD cap .. 65k for AD and 20k for RP – that way at least everybody who graduated from here would be able to remain employed.

But it would be just a matter of time until someone again would find a loophole …

          • Life is tough. Can she apply for a community college and get a CPT so she can continue working in the same company? Anyway, I have no more complaints to the rule: just like in a video game, there are always cheaters, but cheaters payback soon.

      • AD/PP/VT here. 🙁
Well guys whatever we say and do, for right now, we are the ultimate losers. We lost to the “fake” people who filed through “fake” body shops who got the lottery. They have the same opportunity as a genuine US graduate because they are allowed to have the same opportunity. Probably I would also have cheated if I knew there was such a golden chance to cheat. It is not just their fault. I am really astonished with the system. The so called “land of equality and liberty”. What kind of equality is this????? A lay man with no extraordinary qualifications gets the work permit and a talented person gets left behind because of a stupid Lottery.

Well I can’t complain and be demotivated if I didn’t win the Powerball Texas. Hence I am completely over this Powerball H-1B and moving on to other plans. One and a half month of torture was enough for me. Now I am just waiting to get my packet back so that I can formally talk with my employer to defer my job for next year if they can.

      • Hi Steve,

I dont agree with you on mutliple application, I am in usa from long peroid of time and i never see or heard in my circle who applied with mutliple employers. Its not easy decision as you have to pay from your pocket and even some how they managed all this if they get selected with both then they will be in trouble as they have to pay heavy fee(or fine to one employer). no employer will be ready to processes multiple h1b holders application.

what about fake OPT? people who just joined online courses or colleges to get OPT status.

to simplify, the process USICS had in place worked all these years but its failing now becuase of demand. so luck factor is playing its role now. just digest the fact. no one is less either h1b or OPT. everyone have thier own problems. just hope usics will increase cap next year or H4 EAD bill will be passesd this year(which will reduce 40% of application).

        • Believe it or not Mr. Krishna, it is happening. The candidates get rejected during stamping though. I have come across one such case at my workplace, whereby he applied for H1 through 2 different companies. Although his application was approved, he was denied his VISA and his passport returned, and he stayed back in Cannada (where he had gone to get his Passport stamped).

          • yes, I have heard of cases of multiple applications in my circle that too from Indians in IT who want to make it to America some way or the other…

          • In no way this is along the lines of bad mouthing or cursing…all the comments you see above are frustrations of every graduate who has put up with struggle, part time jobs, managing work and studies and many things that go along with a student life. After walking the ramp during graduation the struggle begins the very first day trying to find a job which provides sponsorship and then you start to think about repaying a debt and making sure your parents are worry free.

And after all of this I am sitting here reading comments about how IT body shops in India and the US are plundering us of our hard earned degree, efforts and merit. All of you guys here who are on this bandwagon you might be happy and worry free now but you will pay for our frustration at some point.

          • USCIS was very fair to AD people, they give second chance for who didnt get selected in 20k cap. so at end of day the number who didnt get picked is less. how about H1b from India who didnt get picked. it is equally hard for them to get a sponser and arrange the things. they have to put 6 months of their saving in the process. There are 90% chances for OPT to get h1b with proper planning or other plans.

          • What do you mean 6 months of savings? If you are skilled and your company in India wants you to work here then the expenses is legally borne by the employer. And what do you exactly mean by proper planning or other plans, give us all an explanation.

I am very curious as to what you have to tell us all.

          • Why on earth do you need 6 months of savings for H1b VISA Mr Krishna?
Your Employer is supposed to sponsor you, not yourself.
What kinda fraud company asks employees to save for 6 months to apply for H1B? It is not legal for you to sponsor yourself unless you have invested $1 Million in a start up started. And mark my words not a fake start up.

          • Hey Krishna,

I fully understand your point. I appreciate your hard work. Can you please explain what do you mean by proper planning?

You are talking about 6 months of savings. Students here have paid tuition for 2 years, after getting jobs students have paid taxes. There is a huge investment. Please don’t compare 6 months salary and this investment. It is not like students here were just sitting and earning.

Also when you apply for H1, your employer pays for it. If you have paid then first of all that’s ILLEGAL. So there is no question of 6 months salary investment.

I wouldn’t like to argue, but if people who are already over here do not get selected in the lottery have to go back or find something else (which is equally tough).

        • Oh ya Mr. Krishna, you seem to know a lot of people from India who save 6 months pay to apply H-1B. It shows what kind of pathetic people apply and get accepted. They do not earn even a normal pay and their company doesn’t sponsor anything to them because they are fake people with fake companies.

And you say that the AD ones had lots of luck and opportunity we are the outcast among those because we didn’t get anything yet. If I’m not mistaken, you got your receipt today right? Why are you making us other AD people feel sorry for ourselves saying all these crap. You think you had all the luck in the world so just be happy for yourself and don’t sprinkle salt on our burns!!!!!!!!!!

          Reply
          • Oh yeah Mistyy, we are all very lucky how come you didn’t notice that? Mr. Krishna the reason we don’t have to pay for H1B is because it is merit and it applies to all AD or RD. Pathetic people who want to earn a shortcut to US and live the high life to gloat about their achievement back home pay from their savings.

As to your comment earlier on fairness I agree with you on the first part that we are given two chances but the pot which was supposedly 20000 and 65000 have been swelled due to people who pay for their VISA and cheat. This drastically reduces our chances and we have every right to be frustrated about it.

          • Mistyy I am sorry the earlier comment on “lucky” was sarcastic did not intend to offend you in any way.

          • I dont know why people who go for advanced degree in US get so angry over H1B … While I understand the frustration over Indian IT companies asking for large number of visas, I also know for a fact that many of the people with AD have worked in these companies. Also, an AD in US does not imply US govt will give compulsory H1B (AFAIK). A student with AD spends the money because he prefers education in US (and with the larger motto of settling down there). It also doesn’t imply an AD student knows more than a person applying from these companies.

I would agree with the fact that these companies apply for far more visas knowing the fact that less number of visas will be issued … But this is more of a fault of US govt. The companies have equal right to be selfish similar to what an AD student going to US is!!

PS : I do not work at any of these companies. I have my AD from India, was offered a job in US by a company and haven’t yet received receipt.

          • Hey Ajay in no way you were wrong and I respect that. There are two things we are frustrated about 1. fake applicants who pay for the H1B here in the US and back in India and 2. a stupid system which does not screen duplicate applications before the lottery. Among these I hope #2 is already frowned upon and some changes which is rudimentary is implemented and as for #1 there is no real way out as these guys will continue to do so today, tomorrow and going forward.

Kindly note that in no way did we mention that we were the best in what we do nor did we mention that people from IT companies in India coming here are dumb. We are frustrated with that segment of the population who take all the shortcuts in life and cheat the system to get what they want.

          • I agree with Bharat plus, I am not from India and have never worked in any of these companies.

My point is, it should be a merit based system – it is the system’s fault but at the same time the system is being abused by those companies, hence the anger for against both, just as Bharat has outlined.

            RE: equal right
It is not about equal right but it is about TALENT – the system should be designed in such a way that it awards visas based on talent – no two applicants are alike and yet they are treated equally – a merit based system would solve all of the above

          • Whatever you AD guys says.. then how those guys get jobs here even they get fake H1B… if they can.. that means they are capable and this should be equal opportunity for all. 🙂

I am an IITan,, but did not had AD from USA.. so I am not allowed for H1B at all.

            some may disagree.

          • I was meritorious student..I had wish to study in IIT but due to financial issue..i had to study in my small town college..even i was not able to pay the Engineering college fees and expense so i did Bachelor in Science and Masters from the same college..Worked in Mumbai for 3 years just for 5-15 K rupees in small IT firms. Although worked hard..learned lot on and off the job..did couple of IT industry recognizable certifications..got the job in US based IT company in India, Came to US on L1..Working here since 3 years..Now same company applied COS L1 to H1B..and i got selected in H1B lottery..Thank You God…

        • Hi Krishna,

I have been in the US for a long time myself and I know numerous cases where it happened, regardless of whether you have seen things happening or not. Many times the employer is also left in the dark. What stops you from accepting 3-4 job offers and have each of them file an H1B? Cost for you? Zero.

Besides, I don’t get your point? So what – fraud is happening even for OPT – so? What’s the point – that sucks as well. All those fakers and cheaters ruin it for everybody else.

I am for a MERIT based system – award H1Bs based on merit, not on chance or luck. And the reason a reform is necessary is because of the IT body shoppers from India.

A merit based system would be aligned with this country’s mission- the best TALENT wins – not the luckiest guy or even the one cheating the most.

I have been a silent follower of this blog space. (Really Helpful)
Today I got to know that my petition was accepted.
    Category: Reg/Non Ad/CALIFORNIA

This was a COS from L1 to H1 being filed by IGATE.

As I check in USCIS site, it says under Initial Review. And the date shows April-10.

Also a couple of friends had applied in the same category from IGATE, who haven’t yet received any confirmation from IMMIGRATION Team.

So, I don’t think that its time to lose hope yet.
    Chances are still in galore.

If you are not following the route of checking with your employer whether the check was encashed – then you may still fall under the category of selected in the lottery – check encashed (which you may not be aware of) – receipt on the way to your employer thru snail mail.

          • The reason for US grads not getting the H1B is because there is no prioritization. All H1Bs are issued randomly, which gets abused by IT Bodyshoppers from India.

Most visas go to Indian consulting companies. Many IT Consultants apply through multiple employers, thereby further amplifying the number of applications submitted under the cap.

H1B needs a reform. Give priority to US companies! Once all US companies are served, open up a random lottery to all remaining “IT Consultants” for non-US companies.

Right now, an SAP consultant from India has the same odds as a graduate from Stanford.

Right now H1B is issued based on luck, not on merit! This is completely counterintuitive to what the US has been built on. MERIT should decide your fate, not chance!

          • A friend of mine got confirmation from her HR last friday saying she was not picked this year:( AD/PP/VT…. I guess her HR got the package returned

          • Is it possible for you to confirm that the person got the rejection packet…. Many HR are saying that it is not picked but they havent received any rejection packet….

    • Ad/PP/VT fragomen told me, that USCIS is done sending receipts.

  12. Do we still have hope left for “Non-Advanced Degree”/”Regular Processing”/ “Vermont”

Q 1) Please suggest how much hope is left to go through the lottery for the above category
Q 2) When should we start thinking about “Plan B”, assuming now the chances are very very minimal?

I request you to please reply in detail as this information would be highly useful for me. I don’t really have any other source of information and have been constantly following this forum to get the updates.

Looking forward for your detailed replies.

    • I’m assuming that your employer is informing people of receipt notices as soon as they arrive. If so, then I’m sorry, but there is very little chance of you getting through the lottery at this point — you’ll have to try again next year.

As for plan B, most people have been thinking about it way before even filing for H-1B. The problem is that unless you have OPT, or are eligible for other visas like L-1 or O-1, there aren’t any broad alternatives to H-1B.

  14. Thank you for your detailed info. What are the cases that leads to a visa denial after getting through the lottery?

    Reply
    • If there is any ptoblem with your.documents, uscis will put your case in rfe, i.e. request for evidence. In this phase, your company will have to furnish the required documents. If uscis is not satisfied with your reply, they will deny your visa.

  15. Hi

Is there anyway if we can find out our company has filled h1b application for you. They are asking to wait, which is creating doubt in my mind if they really filled my h1b application……

    Reply
    • No, there is no way to check this. If you have good relations with your employer or any person from visa cell of your company who might help, you can enquire unofficially.

    • Unfortunately there is no easy way. Apparently (like mentioned above) you could file a Freedom of Information Act request, but I really have never heard of anyone doing this.

  21. Hello All:

I am Sandeep. I am a AD/RP applicant, waiting to receive the receipt from USCIS. Any folks here still waiting for their receipt under my category?

I work fulltime with an Energy Company in Texas and this is my last attempt. I am not sure, which processing center my application was sent to. My employer does not let me contact the lawyer who applied for my H1B. Since my employer is in Texas, May I assume, the processing center to be the one in California

    • I am also waiting in same category……n i work for one of the big desi company and they had applied for more than 5000+ H1B this yr. So far they have received only 2000+ accepted application and waiting for some more to come……..so guy receipts are still coming don’t loose hope…….

      Reply
      • Can you confirm that those numbers are accurate?

If it’s really 2000/5000, then that is pretty much what you would expect; for non-AD applicants, the acceptance rate is supposed to be around 40%.

I’m AD/PP/VT, and am waiting myself. But so far my company hasn’t told me their receipt ratio. But if the numbers you mentioned are representative of most companies, then it seems like there is zero hope of getting more receipts.

      • yes, we’re waiting, but that’s what’s supposed to happen! According to the lottery odds, a very large chunk of applicants are not supposed to be accepted. Anyway, it seems like most law firms are reporting hit-rates of around 40-50%, which means that we are officially screwed.

  22. non ad/reg/ca…

this is what my lawyer has to say: end of wait for me i think!!!!!!!!

While I have not received X’s case back, it is almost certain that his case was NOT selected in the lottery. Last Friday, USCIS announced that they have completed data entry of the selected cases and will begin returning cases. So far this week, I have not received X’s Receipt Notice. In fact, I have not received any receipt notice for cap cases so I think all receipts have been issued at this point.

  23. Guys,
Writing this with a heavy heart because I think it’s my duty to update my fellow members of this blog..,.

Just talked to my employer he said he got 9 out of 16 h1b Rq/rp/vt receipts on last Monday itself. My name is not there in those 9 receipts.

The checks got cleared on Tuesday for those guys.

Going by the pure math virtually there is no chance left for me.

Although my employer asked me to sty positive and wait for another week.

I am very sad. Good luck to all those who are waiting !!

  27. Here is something I found out. Yesterday one of my friends received his receipt. AD/RP/CA. The receipt notice date is 16th April, but he received it yesterday (8th May).

As @Arpita also mentioned yesterday, there was some delay with her receipt.

So lets wait it out guys. Till we don’t get our rejection packet we still have hopes.

          • Guys in this forum I feel that we are like the struggling actors in Mumbai who want to go home after being exhausted and then hear some inspiring stories of a few successful actors and stay back. I had stopped looking at this forum since last week and yesterday when I saw Arpita received her receipt then again I started visiting this page. I don’t know till how long this agony and pain will last.

Just waiting until I get the return packet back.
            AD/PP/VT

          • AD/PP/ VT ..In kind of dilemma to wait or not 🙂 I am a PhD degree holder from a highly reputed university and a licensed practitioner in US. Finally leaving my destiny to the silly lottery system which sounds ridiculous . Would have felt much better, If I would have tried to read my luck thru single digit hoosier lottery tickets 🙂 Any how got ready to implement plan B to Plan Z…..

I hope in near future, USCIS will make enough reforms to close the loopholes and will keep their home grown talent with them. I wonder why don’t they track down and remove fake, duplicate, multiple applications that are filed under the same passport no before running the random lottery? Every person no matter how talented he/she is should get only one entry in the lottery system. Why the lottery needs to be conducted in such a hasty manner if all they need is genuine talent? Why don’t they apply maximum limits to the number of applications for bigger IT companies ?

I guess, US still needs talented people not only lucky ones/Tricky ones 🙂 In God, I/We trust 🙂 for H1B

  28. We are still waiting for my husband’s lottery result. It is Non AD/Non PP. Is there any hope that we still can get receipt? This is 2nd time we are trying. We tried last year but no luck that time. Our Employer told we can wait till today. No chance of getting it in next week or so?

  29. Mine is AD/PP…I don’t know which state they filed. But bad news is the check was not cashed as of yesterday and I haven’t received a word from them. They directly told me that I was not selected this Monday based on their experience…my firm is not e-verified yet but they will be, just for me, God please let that work or they have to put me into some University programs to remain legal status. But even though I have 29 months of OPT I’m still kind of scared. I totally understand the feelings ’cause one of my friends would have to leave if he was not selected…

    • You have 29 months OPT still worrying. What about the others whose OPT stem is going to expire soon but have job and everything. Don’t you think your situation is much better when compared to us. E-verification is not a problem you will get it. Even if it does not work nothings goanna happen you can still stay in US until next April. I know you are in frustration, just think about us, then you realize that your’ s is nothing.

  30. Hello all,
My husband works for Wipro, and got selected in the lottery. He got an update from GIMS today afternoon. However, seems like we are the only ones who are not so excited hearing this. We did face the same situation during 2013-14 when he got selected back then in lottery and got rejected after a silly RFE. We are hopeful that the application gets processed this time without any further hiccups. I wish every single one of you waiting for the update all the very best and pray that you get what you all deserve. Thanks All!
