Experience 1: Regular Slot | B1/B2 | MUMBAI Consulate

Translator:
She needed a Marathi translator. Mumbai has translators for almost all languages. Once you go inside they will guide you to right queue according to your translator requirement. We did not request a translator before the appointment. The appointment was booked for English language since only English was available at that time.

Experience 2: B2 Visitor Visa Stamping Experience at Hyderabad
My parents b2 visitor visa interview experience at Hyderabad. 8am slot.
First time B2 stamping on Sept 1, 2022.
Questions asked
1. Where are you going?
2. What does your son do? What does his wife do?
3. Who is paying for the visit?
4. What do you do here and what do you own who will look after if you go there?
5. Who else is in your family and what do they do?
6. Who else you know stays in the us?
Your visa is approved.
Experience 3: B2 Visitor Visa Stamping Experience – Chennai
My B2 visa experience at Chennai consulate at 12 pm on Septemerb 1st, 2022.
Q1. What is the purpose of your visit?
A. Family vacation
Q2. Who would be travelling with you? Do they have visa?
A. Husband. Yes he already has US visa.
Q3. Where are you planning to visit there?
A. Showed printed tentative itinerary.
Q4. Have you travelled international before?
A. Yes several countries.
Visa was approved. The total duration with the consular was less than 2 mins for me. He asked me to submit and passport and gave me a visa is approved slip.
Experience 4: B2 Visitor Visa Stamping Experience – Mumbai

Experience 5: B2 Visitor Visa Stamping Experience – Kolkata
- Interview Experience at Kolkatta for my mother and younger sister, 31st August.
- Status : Approved .
- Note : They are asking everyone who came in for interview if they have Invitation Letter . This was asked as soon as they entered the building for interview. So please provide one to your parents / relatives going for the interview . It’s a good to have document.
I don’t know if they asked anything else to someone who didn’t have Invitation Letter.
Questions asked during interview:
1. What is the Purpose of your Visit
2. Who is the Sponsor for the trip
3. Which visa is your daughter on
4. Where does she work
5. What do you do for a living
6 . They asked my mom specifically about what business they have and her responsibilities
7. Is your husband joining the trip ? ( Although it’s mentioned in the DS-160 that he has passed away)

Experience 6: B1/B2 Fresh at Delhi – US Embassy
- September 1st and 2nd Sept 2022 Delhi consulate.
- Morning 9 AM
- For my mother age 68
- Pensioner
Biometrics – No need to carry Photograph, consulate employee will even help to correct face position, hair, very supportive
Interview – Asked for Hindi Translator, provided
1. Reason for travel – Tourism(Stick to this answer) and family will help to visit places in USA
2. Whom are you visiting – son and daughter in law
3. Visa copy of son
4. Invite letter from son – sent self signed pdf with supportive document like Visa copy valid,etc

Answer : Going to visit my daughter, also will be seeing a few places while we are there, daughter will be taking us around

Experience 8: B2 Fresh Stamping Chennai

It looks like VO told her the application is approved and took PPs only not the DS160. Not sure if this is the norm.

Pretty smooth process. Key – go early. No documents asked not even a single document seen except passport.

Experience 10 : B2 for Wife and Kid – Delhi
B2 fresh 1st and 2nd Sept 2022 Delhi consulate morning 9 am for my wife and kid

Experience 11 : B2 Visa for parents in chennai.
B2 Visa for my parents got approved today in chennai.
Booked interview in english and requested interviewer for Telugu translator and they have provided one.
Questions asked :
- Whats your occupation ?
- How many years your son has been in US ?
- Who is sponsoring your trip ?
They have asked for photos as there seems to be an issue with photos they took during biometrics. So better carry 2 US passport size photos for safe side in case of situation like this.
Experience 12: B2 Visa Stamping at Delhi for 3 People
- Interview experience at Delhi consulate for B2 visa for me and parents
- Status – Approved
- Biometrics – 8.30 am at Shivaji stadium metro station – 1st sept
- Documents asked – appointment letter, Ds160 confirmation, latest passport
No photos and other documents needed. You can carry mobile(switched off/bag) – no restrictions here. Parking can be done in nearby mall or Bangla sahib gurudwara.
Consulate interview – 2nd Sept 9 am at US embassy
Below are the questions asked:
1) Purpose of visit (Sister is in US)
2) What does your sister do
3) Where does she live
4) Is she US citizen? (ans – non-immigrant) Is she on H1B (Yes)
4) How long you will be going (said 3 weeks for holiday season)
5) Have any of you ever visited any foreign country in past? (Dad had)
6) Question to Dad – What was the purpose of visit? How long did you stay there.
7) Questions to me – Where do you work? How long you have been working for this firm? What is you annual income?
8) Question to Mom – What do you do (She is a businesswoman) What is your business about? How many people work for you
Then said your Visa is approved, collect it in 5 days. Have a great trip to USA.
No documents were checked (Although had all documents like letter to consulate, invitation letter etc)
Mobile phones/bag not allowed inside (they have a storage facility). Car parking available at 500m near Malcha Marg market.
Experience 13 : B2 Visa Stamping Parents – Mumbai

There were some more which they don’t recollect now.
The VO was nice, pleasant and smiling throughout but was asking a lot of questions to everyone in the queue.

Had an interview on Sep 6th, 2022 at Delhi for B1/B2.
Appt time 9.50 am went in at 8.15 am, was done by 9.25 am.
VISA approved.

Biometrics was easy and straightforward
It’s a group of 2 both Dad and Mom attended together.
Here is how the interview went
- VO: Good morning. Your Visa interview language is Tamil. Why are you attending here in a Telugu speaking state and called for a translator. Translator translated the question.
- Dad: Your scheduling system allowed us to get the appointment here only.
- VO: OK why are you going to US
- Dad: to attend daughters graduation in December
- VO: What are you both doing
- Dad: Answered
- VO: Had questions about salary and how a teacher can earn this much
- Dad: Showed payslips and passbook.
- VO: How much savings have you got. Who is paying for your trip?
- Dad: Self sponsored and told we have x savings
- VO: is your daughter working(asked multiple times it seems)
- Dad: No she is going to graduate this Fall.
- VO: ok I am approving both your visas. Have a wonderful trip.
