Steve Jobs commencement speech at Stanford University- Video & Transcript

by Kumar on May 5, 2010

I have watched this commencement speech by Steve Jobs some time ago and just watched it again.  It is very inspiring.  He tells three stories of his life.  If you have not, I would encourage you to watch the 15 minute video. Did you know Steve Jobs Commencement Speech at Stanford Universitythat,  Steve Jobs walked 7 miles to get a good meal at Hare Krisha Temple ?  Anyways, The main summary taken from the original transcript is :

First story gist by Steve Jobs:

“You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”

Second Story essence by Steve Jobs :

” Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. ”

Third story gist by Steve jobs :

“If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you’ll most certainly be right.”   “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice.  Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish. ”
