H1B 2027 Lottery Results Out, Sample Selection Notice

The current H1B Fiscal Year(FY) 2027 season is very different from the previous years, as the Trump Administration introduced some big changes, such as weighted wage levels based on the H1B visa lottery, and the $100K fee for H1B applicants outside of the US.

Due to these major changes, many expect far fewer H1B visa registrations for FY 2027. Based on our H1B 2027 Lottery predictions, we also expect a big drop in the H1B registrations. As of now, we do not have any official numbers yet, so we continue to wait until they get released later in the year.

As in previous years, we are seeing H1B lottery results come in a few days after the completion of the registration period. We do not have any official announcement yet, but applicants in community and attorneys are sharing updates in our groups and on social media.

In this article, we will cover all the official and unofficial updates on the H1B Visa FY 2027 lottery results, including updates from our community members & attorneys. We will continue to update this article regularly as we get more updates.

Background: H1B 2027 Season, Past Lottery Results Dates

Below is a brief background on the H1B Visa FY 2027 season:

• USCIS announced on January 30th, 2026, that they would accept H1B visa registrations for the FY 2027 season from March 4th, 2026, Noon EST, until March 19th, 2026, Noon EST. You can read more at H1B 2027 season starts on March 4th. How does it work?
• As announced, USCIS accepted H1B registrations between March 4th and March 19th. There were some glitches here and there, and USCIS extended the registration period by a few hours until 5 PM EST on March 19th, 2026.

Past H1B Lottery Results Announcements from FY 2023 to FY 2026

USCIS, in its official press release, states that it will announce the results by March 31st, 2026. Based on past history, the H1B lottery results come in a few days before March 31st. Below is a history of H1B lottery results by fiscal year, so you can understand the pattern for FY 2027.

💡Based on historical results announcement patterns, for the current H1B FY 2027 season, we were expecting the results to come this week anytime on or after March 23rd, but they came in later than expected, starting from today, March 27th, 2026.

H1B 2027 Lottery Results are Coming in, News Updates

As anticipated, the H1B 2027 lottery results for FY 2027 are out now, as of March 27th, 2026, with results coming in very slowly in batches.

In the sections below, we track both unofficial (community users, attorneys) and official (USCIS) updates on the H1B 2027 Lottery results.

We will update the sections below daily until we have the official press release from USCIS stating that all the selection notices have been sent out. You can bookmark this page and come back to it for daily updates.

Unofficial Updates(Community, Attorneys) of H1B 2027 Lottery Results

Updates from March 27th, 2025

Below are the key updates from today as of 3:45 PM EDT.

Updates from Attorneys, Lawfirms, Corporate Immigration Teams:

We have multiple attorneys confirm that results are out and many of them are seeing updates in their accounts. Below are various updates from Attorneys and Corporate Immigration teams.

• We have updates from Attorney Steven Brown and Attorney Emily Neumann from Reddy Neumann Brown Law Firm, confirming that they are seeing H1B 2027 Lottery Results slowly trickle in. They are seeing results across all four wage levels for both the US Masters cap and the regular cap. They mentioned that there was no email alert; you need to log in to the USCIS H1B portal to see the results.

Updates from Community Members, Social Media Users

• There are not a lot of updates from community users yet on the updates as employers/ attorneys are probaly yet to inform them. Many of them are saying results are out stating the updates from attorney, but none of them updated yet.
• We will keep you posted as we get more updates from community users.
• No update on the H1B Lottery selection results from the H1B 2027 Tracker on VisaGrader. All the entries that are in the tracker say, they are in submitted status.

H1B 2027 Lottery Results Official Updates from USCIS

• So far we do not have any official updates from USCIS.
• USCIS typically updates once the results are fully notified to employers. We can expect them to release something on Monday or Tuesday of next week.

Sample H1B 2027 Registration Selection Notice, Meaning

Many of you, if you are applying for the first time, maybe curious to know how a H1B Selection notice looks like and if you are a previous applicant, you may want to know, if something has changed. We will look at a real H1B Lottery selection notice below from FY 2027 that is redacted.

What is the H1B Registration Selection Notice for FY 2027 Season?

The H1B Selection Notice is an I-797C Notice of Action, which is similar to any other like H4 Visa I-797C Receipt Notice.  It would be of Case Type “H-1BR – H1B REGISTRATION”.

What do various fields in the H1B FY 2027 Registration Selection Notice mean?

The H1B Registration Selection Notice for FY 2027 is slightly different from last year with more information about SOC Code, Wage Level and Area of employment included in it. Also, it does not have the USCIS service center details printed on the registration selection notice as it needs to be picked up from the USCIS website.

Below are the various fields in the H1B Registration Selection Notice from FY 2027 season:

• Beneficiary Confirmation  Number:  It is the long number that is generated when the H1B Registration was submitted by your employer or attorney. It cannot be used to check your registration status on USCIS website. It is only used for Internal tracking and lottery purposes. For FY 2027 season, it starts with 2027 as shown in the below screenshot of the selection notice. It is a 16-digit number with numbers and alphabets.
• Case Type: The Case Type field indicates the case type of the form. In the H1B registration selection notice case, it will be “H-1BR – H1B REGISTRATION”
• Received Date: This date is when your employer or sponsor submitted the H1B registration online in the registration system. For the below actual sample notice, it is March 18th, 2026, which is the date when the employer submitted the same.
• Priority Date: This will be blank as it is not applicable.
• Prospective Petitioner: This will be the employer name or the company name that is submitting the H1B visa Registration with the intent to file an H1B petition for the applicant if selected in the lottery.
• Notice Date: This is the date when the employer or sponsor was notified regarding the H1B Registration Selection. For the below sample notice, it is March 27th, 2026. It can be anywhere from 3/27/2026 to 3/31/2026 as we can expect to see results coming in until March 31st, 2026.
• Page: You will see 1 of 2 on the first page. There are two pages in the registration notice.
• Beneficiary:  This is the actual H1B Applicant or Employee for whom the H1B visa registration selection notice was generated. H1B petition can be submitted to USCIS only for this person using this selection notice.
• Company Name and Mailing Address: Below these fields, you will see a box with Company Name and address of the Company.
• Notice Type: It will say “Registration Selection.” It will be the same on the official copy and the courtesy notice.

Under the boxes, there will be text that has the below information about the company. This is slightly different from the previous years due to online filing options and no service center details on it.

• Company Employer Identification Number, Name: You will see the details saying that “Your Company XXXXX, with an Employer Identification Number XXXXX submitted a registration on belhalf of XXX ( Date of Birth XXX), for possible selection towards the FY 2027 H-1B Numerical cap projections.”
• Selection confirmation with Beneficiary Confirmation Number: It will clearly state that the beneficiary was selected and state the Beneficiary confirmation number. It will start with 2027-XXX for FY 2027 selection notice.
• Master or Regular cap: Below this, it would say, what quota the applicant was selected under either Regular cap or masters cap. The sample selection notice below show the applicant selected under the regular cap.
• Filing Dates: It will indicate the filing dates to submit the H1B Petition, which is from 4/1/2026 to 6/30/2026.
• Direct Filing Addresses, Online Filing: In the past they used to have a service center listed on the selection notice, now that is no longer the case, they say to check the USCIS website https://www.uscis.gov/i-129-addresses. They also say you can file the H1B petition online, if you choose to do so.
• Validity of the H1B Registration: It clearly tells the validity of the H1B registration is only for FY 2027 Season and it will only be valid for the company name XXX, applicant’s name XXX with the passport/ travel document number and date of birth of the applicant in it. 
• Corresponding Wage Level, SOC Code, Area of Intentended Employment : As the H1B Lottery Selection Process changed from FY 2027, now in the selection notice, you will also see the Wage Level that was selected by your employer, along with the SOC code and the area of intended employment.
• Cannot Substitute: It will also tell that you cannot substitute the registration for another or transfer the registration to others.  It will also clearly tell that they may reject the petition if not properly filed.  
• Cannot file with Lesser Wage Level for SOC Code in the area of employment: Also, this year notice, clearly tells that you file the H1B petition with a lower wage level for the SOC Code in the area of intended employment, they can deny or revoke the H1B approval of cap subject petition.

How to check H1B 2027 Lottery Results? You vs. Employer?

If you are an H1B applicant and your employer submitted registration during the FY 2027 registration period, you might be really wanting to check the H1B Lottery results by yourself.

Unfortunately, as an applicant, you cannot check H1B Lottery results online. You must reach out to your employer or attorney to find out the H1B lottery results for your registration.

Below are some of the key points regarding the H1B Lottery results that you need to know:

• The H1B Applicant cannot check H1B Lottery results online by themselves.
• The H1B Applicant or even the Employer cannot use the “Beneficiary Confirmation Number” and check it online, similar to checking USCIS Case Status for H1B petition.
• Only Employers or Attorneys who submitted the H1B Registration can check the status of the H1B Registration Selection.
• Employers/ Attorneys, who submitted the H1B registrations, must login to the USCIS H1B Registration System to check the Lottery results.
• Employers usually will be electronically notified saying a message “We have taken an action on your case” . This is not the selection notice, it is just a message telling them to login to check the results and get the selection notice.
• You, as an H1B applicant, must contact your employer or attorney and ask them to check the H1B Lottery results for the registration submitted on your behalf. They would see a screen like below that shows selected and with the option that says “Download Notice” to get the H1B selection notice as PDF

Timeline for H1B 2027 Lottery Results: How many Days?

• The H1B 2027 registration lottery selection results do not arrive for everyone at once. Even though, it sounds like everything is electronic and everyone should be notified instantly, in the case of H1B lottery results, it does not work that way. This is based on the past history and how they have informed H1B lottery selection results in the last few years.
• Similar to last year, we have not even gotten the email that says there is a change in the status of your case. We may see the alerts tomorrow or by Monday from USCIS.

• The H1B Visa lottery results come down in batches over a period of a few days. It can take few days for the selection notices to be generated and informed. The deadline is March 31st, 2026 to get all of the notices.
• USCIS will issue a press release and a news alert at the end of the announcement of the H1B lottery results saying that they have informed everyone about the H1B FY 2027 results. Until that official press release, you can continue to wait.

Do not jump to the conclusion that you were not selected before April 1st, 2026. Give it time; sometimes, attorneys take longer to inform. Be patient. Also, it is a pure lottery and has nothing to do with your talent, so accept the results and make decisions for your future.
