| H1B Visa Applying experience: | This is what happened on the I-day 1. I reached the embassy at 6:30 instead of 7:15. 2. At 6:35 VFS team started forming lines 3. Then, they tell u to keep your stamped DS160 and I797 ready 4. VFS will come and scan DS160 and confirm your appointment 5. They also tell you to keep your mobile phones in the VFS car before you go inside (charges Rs. 150) 6. Then at 7 AM they took us inside for frisking and physical checking 7. After that, we go inside and get the token sticker for the passport 8. Then we have to go for finger print cross checking 9. At this point they tell us to wait till the visa officer arrives and our token number is displayed on the screen 10. During the interview, this is the conversation which took place Me: Good Morning Visa Officer: Good Morning Sir, May I have your 797 and your passport please Me: (I gave the documents and waited) Visa Officer: What client are you going for Mr. X? Me: I am going for XYZ Visa Officer: What? XYW? Me: (with a smile) no, XYZ. Visa Officer: What will be your salary? Me: My India salary is xxx and my US salary will be $yyy Visa Officer: Thank you, your visa is approved, have a nice day. Me: Thank you, bye. |
