Additional Info / Notes | The officer (male) asked standard questions: What is job title? - Asst prof, What is the area of research? - Area XXX, Were you in US before? - Yes, J1 for 5 years, What is your Phd area? - Area XXX. The officer then typed long in his computer and gave the blue 221g form with only refused admin proc box ticked and wrote a case number. He kept the passports and gave the form saying, 'You dont need to visit here again, this is just an admin proc, use the case number written to track online'. Case Update: 01 March 2018 - still under administrative processing Case Update: 02 March 2018 - Issued! Tip: I think the officer could not connect the areas I will work in the job with the PhD area (they are connected but not in an obvious way), so a tip to h1b academic applicants, explain that your phd area is directly related to the research area you are hired to work. Good luck and stay always positive. |
