| Additional Info / Notes | Went for drop box at Chennai US Consulate, submitted the documents and photo. Later, visa status moved to Rejected and then when collecting the passport, received 221G to submit documents like client letter on client letter head and project description on employer letter head. Emailed the documents and response is, documents will be noted, but consulate is closed until further notice and they will get back. [Update 16-Feb] Received an email to attend an interview on any Mon, Tue or Thu between 10-11 AM without any appointment. [Update 1-Mar] Booked 221G appointment in usvisadocs site (no payment required), went to Chennai US Consulate. Went to 19 counter for document verification, they only asked for passport and 221G slip and then went to another counter with the interviewer, asked for passport and questions on the employer name, client, salary and work location and approved the visa, received the passport after 4 days. |
