USCIS : 172,500 Petitions received for H1B 2015 Lottery. Selection Complete !

As you know, USCIS announced on April 7th that they received enough number of petitions for filling the H1B Visa statutory cap for the fiscal year 2015. Also, they indicated that there were more petitions received and there would be lottery/ random selection process for the same. • Computer generated random selection/ Lottery was conducted by USCIS on the total H1B petitions received until April 7th.
  • Lottery/ Random Selection Process :

  1. Hi Friends,

I have applied for H1B Visa this year for the first time. My sponsor had given me an update saying my file has cleared the lottery system but I am still awaiting for the receipt no. It’s been almost 2months since the lottery clearing status. Is there any delay in this process and is anyone facing the same situation like me who haven’t received the receipt no? I am not even sure if the file for cleared through lottery in first place as I do not have any solid proof for it!! Pls help!

You received the receipt, correct? What’s the current online status for that receipt number? You can track the status online.

  8. Oficial USCIS release says:
Before running the lottery, USCIS will complete initial intake for all filings received during the filing period, which ended April 7. Due to the high number of petitions, USCIS is not yet able to announce the date it will conduct the random selection process.
    So, lottery still pending..

  12. My Employer states that they still haven’t heard anything regarding by application lottery results, neither won nor rejected. They also say they cannot confirm on rejection until they receive my application package returned. They say they cannot give me any details of application submit acknowledgement for me to verify if my visa was applied. The anxious wait is making me restless now. I want to work on my Plan B if my application has not won the lottery. How to proceed on the status check, any help/suggestion is highly appreciated.

  15. One of my friend who got through H1B lottery this year now is shifting to kuwait and doesn’t need or lets say not interested in H1B and is quitting the company.

I didn’t get through H1B lottery this year and the same company has applied for both us via Fragomen.

Can the petition be transferred to me ? Before the petitions are sent back ? can anything be done?

  16. Hi Saurabh,

My application was picked in lottery and got RFE on may1st. We responded to RFE on 05/26/2014. Mine was premium processing. My company is moving to new location on 06/02/2014 in the same city.(same job responsbilities) Do we need to file new LCA or amendment for my H1b because of changing address.

My H1b is still in process , does this address change effect my H1b approval? Please suggest.

    Thanks,
    Kumar.

    • As the city and state is same, i dont think you need to file LCA…Even if its required….can be done once your petition is approved. it wont impact ur h1b process…cheers…(o;

Please tell me what to do. Cant just sit there like a dumbo and not look at other options so please advice me with a Plan B.

Also and EGAN people have any information please feel free to share. I am soo not happy and really dont know what to think or make out of this situation. Please respond….

As a side note have there been cases that have been accepted late? as in is there still hope or we are just waiting for our packets to be returned at this point in time….

    Any help would be appreciated!!!

    • 90% are the chances that you are not picked up this time. Without wasting a single moment here on, start thinking of and working on plan B. Don’t wait and screw yourself, if you still get lucky and get picked up now, that’s bonus.

    • Hi Sal, same thing here, no actual news from Egan, just the standard mail. Is it really too late? Were all the acceptances informed yesterday?
