My H1B got approved but I797B has the approval date only for 1 year. Hows that possible when the attorney had requested H1b for 3 years.
Could somebody please advice on this. is this a mistake from the attorney? is extension an issue? how will I get an extension for ?

please advice soon.

Even when the attorney requests for 3 years, USCIS can approve it for a shorter term based on their review. They approve it for 1 year when they are not confident about the long term financial stability of the employer and want to revisit the petition in 1 year (when the extension is filed).

Was it filed through a small consulting company? If the project information was submitted, then what was the duration?
