how to increase chance of tourist visa for my unmarried sister

Hello,

My husband will be sponsoring tourist visa for my parents and unmarried sister. My parents have plans to visit me in summer 2015 so that my sister completes her course. She has no intentions to study in USA.

I have heard from many that chances of getting visa for my sister is remote.

She is doing her third year engineering.

Please guide me how can I increase her chances of geting visa.

Thank you

Meera

It shouldn’t be a concern. A letter from her college mentioning her current status (3rd yr of engg.) and date of rejoining (4th year) should be fine.

Hi catapult,

Thank you for your reply.
The problem is she studies in a university where there is no semester break. So when requested the university for such a letter, they denied
My sister and parents even told the college authorities she will not be taking break from her classes, this letter is just for getting visa

You can ask the University to state the facts and issue a strict letter that says, " While we encourage reunion within families, absence from class is not excused and it is the responsibility of the student to remedy any missed course work. If the absence exceeds… number of days, student will attract suspension and or summary dismissal with all paid fees forfeited and the abandonment will be made part of student permanent academic records". Now add this letter to yearly expenses incurred by your sister to study at this college. The point is why would anyone give up an expensive program without reason.

Best wishes

If the intention is to just get the visa and not travel, I would suggest she only apply for the visa only when she intends to travel.
