OPT - Extension wrong address?

Hi,

I have filled my OPT-Extension to nebraska instead of arizona(which is my specified location) and I came to know that nebraska is no longer accepting I-765 forms. So, what will be my position? Will USICS transfer from Nebraska to AZ and if they do it should it has to reach before my OPT expires (July 5th). Otherwise can I send another application to AZ. Will there be any problem? Please reply I am really tensed about the situation.

Well, USCIS says that it would return the application packet back to you, indicating the wrong location. Read this USCIS Update

You can always call USCIS customer service, they should clarify your question. Also, you can consult your DSO, they will help you as well. Do NOT panic.

Thank you for the response, my main worry is that my OPT expires on July 5th and if they return the application back probably it takes 4-5 business days and it passes after july 5th with sat, sun and july 4th. So instead can i file another application today. I am really tensed. (the only reason it took so long is my ex-employee is not e-verified and it took time to find a new job)

Below is from USCIS doc(the one which u mentioned)
The Service Centers will forward incorrectly filed applications to the USCIS Phoenix and Dallas Lockbox facilities for the first 30 days, until March 26, 2010. After March 26, 2010, applications incorrectly filed at USCIS Service Centers will be returned to the applicant, with a note to send the application to the correct location.

Talk to your DSO and call the USCIS customer service center. If there are no issues, it is a good idea to file another one before July 5th. I understand your concern, but dont panic…Talk to DSO or someone in International students office, they should advise you…
