No Change in H1B Filings Volume. US Economy Ok ?
For those of you in US, hope you had a nice July 4th weekend, watching lot of fireworks ! Anyways, there are absolutely no changes in the overall volume of the H1B visa petition filings. The regular quota filings were down slightly by about 100 from 1,100 last week to 1000 this week..where as, the Advanced degree cap petitions filed inched up slightly by 100 from 500 last week to 600 this week. If the current trend continues, we may have the advanced degree cap quota exhausted by last week of September, whereas the regular H1B quota cap would last beyond February 2012. Check out the graphs, with prediction below. Also, my guess for next week…the H1B petitions filing volume may slightly go down because of the long weekend break…
Looking at US economy, some positive news from the manufacturing sector as the activity in June was accelerated…US retailers are expected to report positive news as well as they expect to report good sales gains in June …We will have to wait and see the unemployment numbers report for June to understand the economy outlook…In general, economists predict more activity in the second half of the year because first half was partially impacted by Japan’s natural calamity earlier this year….Lets hope there is more activity in second half and there is more demand for H1B visa workers in US….
What are your thoughts on US economy ?
