Can I tell length of stay to visa officer different from ds160 for b2 visa

Hi

I am 27 years old , single and working in india as chartered accountants and I m going for group visa interview along with parents for b2 visa application.

I have mentioned 3 months as length of stay in ds160.

I heard it helps if I tell short time period in USA as length of stay in interview to visa officer.

Please suggest if I can answer 45 days as length of stay in USA to visa officer during interview?

(My brother is in USA on h1b and is sponsoring the trip for three of us)

DS 160 entry refers to maximum time planned. You can always mention shorter time to visa officer stating a need to return quickly
