Current Situation - I'm on L1A and by I140 is currently filed with a priority date of Oct 2017.
L1A renewal is due July 2018. (still have 3 yrs to max out)
My company was acquired by another company in Feb 2018 and my legal mentioned instead of renewing L1A they can enter me to the H1B pool so I have a backup and can switch companies in case I lose my job due to the acquisition.
Question - Assuming there is no job loss and I would keep my job, Would applying for H1B impact my current I 140 on EB1 which is based on my current L1A? Would there be possibilities for a question on why we are applying for H1B from the same employer when there is a I 140 case pending?
