H1B Transfered and petion approved for 9 months only

I had stamped H1B from previous organization which is still valid till 2018 . I changed my employer and they filed for transfer which got approved , but the validity of petition is just for 9 months , do i have to go for new stamping again as I am still in the home country and have not yet travelled to US .

1.Is it that my new stamped VISA will also be for shorter duration ?

  1. If suppose I do not travel and file for an extension staying in home country , will it be cap exempt and how much time will it take?

  2. As my previous VISA is still valid do I have to go for new stamping and will my previous VISA cancelled?

Please help ASAP

Thanks,

No need of stamping, but you must have the new 9 month approval notice with you when you enter USA. 2. If suppose I do not travel and file for an extension staying in home country , will it be cap exempt and how much time will it take?

If it has been granted for 9 months, they must have a reason for it. Either the letters attached mentioned that the project was for 9 months only. Yes, you are cap-exempt, and it will take the usual time for approval as there is no premium processing now.3. You can use it to enter USA. No need to get a new stamping but you must carry the new approval notice with you. When you enter USA, the immigration officer will issue an I-94 with only 9 months validity as per the latest approval notice. You might have apply for extension before the 9 month period expires.
