H1B stamping - brother in law to be mentioned as relative?

Hi All

I am applying for h1b stamping, in application there is a mention of :

  • immediate relatives in US

  • other relatives in US

my brother in law ( brother of my wife) is in US and a Green card holder, do I need to mention yes for “other relatives in US” ?

will it have any negative impact on my stamping?

Also previously my B1 was rejected, that time I didnt mention any relative to be in US, so will there be any cross check for both applications?

Thanks and regards

Dear Monu,

You should ideally mention other relative as yes. It does not adversely affect in H1 visa application.

But by not mentioning it in earlier application you have created problem for yourself.

Yes there normally is a crosscheck with previous application
