My company in India has nominated me for my H1-B Visa for 2017 but I am currently 5 months pregnant.
They had nominated me before I knew that I am pregnant and hence I did not inform my employer that I am carrying now. Should I inform my employer about my condition.I am scared if they reject my nomination based on these grounds.

It depends upon your company policies. Legally, pregnant women are eligible for H-1. They are not discriminated.

Even if you make through the H-1, you cannot start the employment on H-1 until Oct 2016. By that time you would have delivered the baby and so pregnancy shouldn’t be an impacting factor.

Thanks Saurabh. I went through the company’s policies and I did not find anything related to my scenario so I believe that should not be a problem.

I don’t about labor laws in India but a good employer should not discriminate against pregnant ladies.

Have a safe delivery
