Comparable US$ salary in Florida if your current Salary is Rs. 48 lakhs?

Hi,

I am a senior executive working for a large MNC company in India and currently evaluating an option to get a transfer to the Miami office of the same company for the next 5 years on an L1 Visa. My current annual salary package is Rs. 48 lakhs.

What could be a good comparable US $ salary package based on some ‘back of the envelope’ calculations around senior executive pay, cost of living and other family expenses? My wife is a practicing doctor in India who earn around Rs. 2.5 - 3 lakhs per annum through her freelance consultation. She will have to stop working if she comes to US. My family consists of my wife and my mother.

Appreciate any help / advice on this.

Regards,

Jacob

Hi Jacob,

Salaries of the same profession cannot be compared between India and US. Some of the jobs which are well paid in India or not that well paid here and vice versa. Please look into the site [www.indeed.com](http://www.indeed.com). This site throws a light on what is the average salary in that particular city based on your designation.

Hi Jacob,

Since company is same you can ask from your US office HR what is the max salary they can offer.

if you compare salary paid for similar experiance in Top MNC it can be upto USD 150k to 200k/Annum

honestly speaking with such high package ppls move only for the wish to stay in US and not to earn or save more

as job market in US is very dynamic and you should double think the option

also i am not sure of your mother can get L1 dependant visa as that is for your immediate family only

Thanks Raj for the advice…I will be discussing this with the HR, but wanted to get a rough idea on the range…

Jacob,

Based on your location, your median salary can be $720,000. Please visit: [http://swz.salary.com/SalaryWizard/Chief-Executive-Officer-Salary-Details-Miami-FL.aspx](http://swz.salary.com/SalaryWizard/Chief-Executive-Officer-Salary-Details-Miami-FL.aspx)

Remember, you have to pay huge tax too. Better to compare with fringe benefites. What is the name of the MNC? Can I apply :) All the best.
