Question regarding LCA (H1B)

Hi Guys

My employer files H1B petition for the location Boston (MA). But I started my work in Illinois. I am working for more than 3 months but did not get the revised LCA copy from my employer yet.

My questions are:-

  1. How much does it take to change LCA in both normal/premium mode?

  2. Is it too costly to apply for an LCA change?

  3. I got my SSN from Illinois, but my LCA was filed in Boston. Is this going to be an issue in future (say while filing Green Card Application from Same/different Employer) if employer denies to file LCA for IL (work location where I work)?

Please suggest.

Bro,

  1. How much does it take to change LCA in both normal/premium mode?ANS- There is no fee for filing the LCA with DOL. The lawyer may charge . This should be taken care by the employer2. Is it too costly to apply for an LCA change?----i have ans above3. I got my SSN from Illinois, but my LCA was filed in Boston. ANS:-SSN don’t have an issue. Coz you can change the address by visiting SSA. I have mine from NJ but I am staying in MA. At some point of time you might face some issues, If you’re on H1 you have to file the LCA where you work. Based on that your Privilege wages will be change. File the New LCA for Illinois… It is employer’s responsibility to file the LCA whenever you change the JOB.

Note:- Not to scare you. Some times DOL will visit the work locations and try to check their LCA and other legal stuff. Last year this is what happens in DB in New Jersey. They punish my employer due to not filing LCA while changing the work location.
