Place of Birth Printed wrong on Passport - Impact on H1B

Thank you for the info. Another related query...

My Place of Birth in passport is printed wrong. It was printed "XXX" instead of "YYY" (which is correct). XXX & YYY are districts of Andhra Pradesh only.

I am sure i filled it correct while applying passport, but it was printed wrong, could be becoz they spell alike...I haven't bothered to correct it as there is no other document contradicting the same.

Please let me know if it would pose any issues during my H1B stamping. What should i answer incase i am asked "What is my place of Birth"..XXX or YYY

They will not ask this question since there is no contridicting documents. During stamping there are so many tough questions are there to ask don't worry about this :) All the best.

This was a grey area from long time. Thank you for clarifying. My Petition has been approved in USCIS site on Sep 4th. But, waiting to receive the 1797 Approval Notice. Will get back if any quries. Thank you for the quick responce.
