B2 Visa for Parents - How to prove ties to home country?

Hi,

I’m a GC holder working and residing in US. I would like to sponsor B2 visa my parents to visit me for a couple of months.

I’m the only child for my parents. They are retired and I support them financially. There are a couple of lands in my name in my home country which are gaurdians of. They have a car and a two wheeler too. They live in a rented apartment.
How to prove their ties back to home country in this case? Will the documents of the vehicles and lands be sufficient?

Thanks,

Manz

Apart from whatever documentation related to land/vehicle they have, your parents have to convince the consulate officer that all their relatives live in India & they strong bonding and they definitely would go back to India. Their sole purpose is to visit you & may be some places for tourism. If they had home on their own in India, that would have helped. [FYI: I’m the only child of my parents too and they are currently in US for 5 months]. Best of luck.

P.S. This is my opinion, not a legal advice.

Your parents need to be able to prove that they have solid ties to India which means they will definitely go back. This normally is a house owned by them, or family they support, or a business in their name etc. It may be difficult for them to prove this because you are effectively supporting them – I would advise you to get some legal advice. It is easy to do the wrong thing but a lawyer will be able to tell you how to put the case together so your parents can visit you easily.
