L2 EAD Renewal Processing time

Question

My L1B visa expires on 20th Jan 2013. My wife wants to quit her job in india, apply for an L2, apply for an EAD when she reaches here and then look for a job.

 

My question is that how long before the expiry can I apply for L1B renewal? Also, in acse my wife gets her EAD before my L1B is renewed, how long does it take for EAD renewal?

You can apply for renewal even  just one week before also. But if your renewal is denied the period of stay after your expiry will be illegal so it is better you apply one and half months before. process time is one month. After your wife reaches US it takes one month to 45 days to get the EAD.
