What Happen when H1 gets approved on 1st Oct or before 1st Oct.

Question

Thanks, So When H1 is approved on 1st Oct or before that, will I automatically move to H1 status from L2 and L2 will become invalid on 1st Oct or I need to file some COS?

Answer 1

If your H1B petition is filed w/ COS, you'll automatically change to H1 status on 1st October or the work start date mentioned in your I-797 approval notice.

If your H1B was filed w/o COS, you will have to file COS application with USCIS to start working for H1B employer.
